    Very nice Shara. The simple box in box reveal is a great touch. I like your "character" vs. "good" side comparison. At our old house we used the backside of prefinished flooring as a backsplash in our kitchen. The "character" knots and grain came out awesome with 6 coats of polyurethane. Thanks for another inspiring video.

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      This doesn’t use an entire full sheet of 3/4” plywood, there is some leftover. I didn’t weigh them, but they definitely weren’t 80 lbs. I could easily pick them up and carry them.

    Great projects and they look nice. Interesting how you can make “plywood” look so good. I do have one question. You cut the legs using a jigsaw, and I see a bandsaw in the background when you were cutting at the mitre saw. Wood the bandsaw have made smoother cuts? And I am guessing you used the jig saw for those viewers that want simple tools used. Or was it just what you were feeling like that day? Like the wood screws, pocket screws, and a combination of both? LOL

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My best advice is to just practice with a jig saw and trim where needed to get your legs cut out as close as possible. Then, lots of sanding. But, they don’t have to be PERFECT for this. As long as they are close and the same height, you likely won’t notice if one isn’t exactly the same as the other.

    How much did it cost (ballpark) to make these?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Prices for materials vary GREATLY by location and change daily. So to get an idea of cost, I suggest checking the materials list in the video description and also detailed here: www.woodshopdiaries.com/diy-mid-century-modern-nightstand/
      You can figure the cost for those supplies and materials where you are currently to get an estimate. What it cost me 2+ years ago when I made then could be half or double what they’d cost you now. So I always recommend checking the materials list against current local prices as the difference can be significant.

    Too much material waste. You are practically making two boxes, one for the interior and one for the exterior. Possibly the plywood sheets will give them to you for free.
    With all that material you could make 2 nigthstands and a bedside cabinet.

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome to make your own nightstands however you wish 👍 the “waste” is a design element I was happy to include.

    I see you rip cut with a circular saw and saw guide vs table saw. Does the circular saw give you an advantage over the table saw? Also was # teeth does your circular saw use? Thanks, really learn a lot from your builds

      It’s much (MUCH) easier and quicker for me to move a circ saw through the plywood than to move the plywood through a table saw considering its size and weight. Also, I use a fine finish/plywood blade with my circ saw. This post goes into more detail about cutting plywood: www.woodshopdiaries.com/cut-down-plywood-sheets-with-circular-saw/

    curious how much is spend to make and end table/nightstand like this and how much profit can you make?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Material costs vary by location and change daily. If you want to know how much it would cost to build, check the materials list in the plans and figure your cost for those materials where you are. My cost last year won't equal your cost this year just because of the constantly changing prices of materials.
      You can find the plans here:

    you should've included a footage of using the drawers themselves. i only saw the insertion of the drawer, but not opening and closing.

    These could also be used as end tables, if so another project could be a coffee table. Or the next two projects could be end tables and then a coffee table.

    How much does it cost to build these?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Material costs vary greatly by location and change day to day. What cost me $100 last year may cost someone else $200 now 1000 miles away. So to get an accurate estimate, I recommend checking the materials list in the video description or in the plans linked in the description and checking prices for those items in your local area.
