To the people complaining about lack of gloves- it's clear you've never tried to work with organic fabrics while gloved. They absolutely increase the probability of damage and snagging because they are cumbersome and grip unpredictably. They also heat your hands enough to potentially cause changes in vulnerable dyes and finishes over extended periods. Conventional clothing has already been exposed to body oils and handling anyway, those changes are already happening. Source: someone who works with these fabrics daily.

This is quite literally an ASMR series, made specifically for that “neurological payoff” you’re talking about. It’s not uncommon for people to request more whispers on ASMR videos. It’s not creepy at all unless you look at ASMR with a closed mind 🤷🏼♀️
This is how they do their series. And it's interesting hearing about the pieces. Ther style isn't for everyone, therefore I recommend looking up something more your style. This is ASMR...

I let my daughter loose on one of my old shirts to learn about using a sewing machine and she did some writing too and produced loads of loose threads as well. I wonder if the V and A would be interested in displaying it but only in an an ‘agreed mode’ of course.
The ASMR effect kinda distracts from what could be a more informative video. Is generating goosebumps from viewers more important than passing on knowledge?

They explained a few videos ago that with textiles they often prefer to just wash the hands very well, since they can feel and handle the textiles much better. As for her not being super gentle, the garment is only 13 years old, so it is probably still very sturdy, and could most likely be worn quite safely (I still wear clothes that are much older and machine wash them). Let’s assume she knows what she is doing.
She probably also uses an intense soap that strips all the oil from her hands. When you work with fabrics (or anything with fine details or tolerances), the feeling in your fingertips are one of your greatest tools! My old sewing teacher used to give tests on types of fabric by feel alone.
