    Who was the first person to think “I’ll collect some berries, chew them and make something beautiful with them ?”

    • @kellybryson7754
      @kellybryson7754 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right! That was my question too.

      I'd assume it was iterative over time. First, someone noticed that old berries that fell in water and got stepped on were gummy and tried working it with their hands. That worked well enough for a while, then someone realized they could get the same effect faster by chewing and pulling.
      We're an innovative species.

      We are curious! Think about how we discovered that the pip of some berry, dried, roasted,ground and then mixed with hot water would prove to be an invigourating drink!☕

    The writing on the phoenix picture says "ex me ipso renascor", Latin for "I am born from myself", fittingly for a phoenix.
    And the backside has this line from Virgil, "Omnia vincit amor et nos cedamus amore", love conquers all and let us succumb to love. It was a very popular saying in the Middle Ages and later on, I think of it as an equivalent of our day's motivational quotes on Instagram.

      But how did Latin get to Colombia in the 16th century?

    Have you made any further discoveries regarding the skeleton that was revealed on the back of the lid?
    (ICYMI: there's another video about this box that goes into more detail about its conservation & the imagery that was found beneath a non-original paint job.)

    There’s something so soothing about an expert explaining a beautiful object in detail. She has a great voice and energy-I imagine her real job is very fulfilling but she could go into ASMR video creation if she wants a career change ❤️ She looked…worried I think? in the thumbnail image so maybe next time a different thumbnail 😂 but otherwise this was great and I hope there are more!

    Came for ASMR, stayed for the art history.
    Scary to think that humans have arguably now passed Peak Artistry, certainly of the individual...
    ...and now happy to abdicate in favour of rehashed 'creativity' by algorithms. Laughably called artificial intelligence.
    Truly a race to the bottom.
    (But even so, could never really compete with nature itself for ultimate beauty.)

      I think we would see more great art if wealthy people would become patrons in the way they used to. Artists used to be able to spend all their time making art thanks to their patrons. That's not how it is now. I wonder how many great artists never see the light of day because they have to work at regular jobs to take care of themselves.

    Interesting the dovetails on the drawers are at such an acute angle. The corners of the tails would be very weak, I wonder why they would have been made to such a sharp angle?

      @ShootingStarASMR 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

  • @jonr6680
    @jonr6680 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Very enjoyable video indeed, but really not ASMR, except the drawers opening etc.
    The triple broadcast microphones sure did make the intentions clear!
    ...but suggest recording the art history as normal - then a specific ASMR segment straight after, whispering or no talking.
    If staff could experience ASMR themselves, they would get it instantly - and might be a real positive in their lives if they don't already.
    I can imagine the responsibility of presenting such a video would make it impossible to experience ASMR at the same time, it's understandable.

    • @piccalillipit9211

    • @guccideltaco

      I experience ASMR, and I find whispering videos to be like nails on a chalk board. This type of video, with her vocal timbre and enunciation, is more triggering for someone like me.

    • @jonr6680
      @jonr6680 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@guccideltaco Very interesting, the triggers are the same for me but I guess the exact volume etc is hard to control end to end on TH-cam.
