Absolutely, no need to invest in any of these products! I honestly believe almost any product can be used to create a minimal look - it's just about looking for ways to apply it in a more fresh, subtle way 👍 x
@@MegRadford NYX and LA Girl are great cost-effective alternatives! I've been in love with LA Girl Velvet Stick cream blush and bronzer, so smooth and yet so pigmented ❤
Oh my goodness, you make me want to throw out all my powder products and switch to 100% cream products. Maybe I will (in 10 years when I finish up my current inventory!)
I just realized the only powder I use is my eyeshadow and that's very rare, I also have a cream shadow. Edit: also I do use skin tint but bb cream on days where I have pimples
Right Matilda you've made a very good point. You never ever try to convince Your subscribers to buy anything. But I want everything You show - because it's what You genuinely love and use and bought with Your own money ! Wish more beauty gurus were like You!
This really just makes me want to full on invest in makeup... your videos are really giving me a good idea of what I would buy, though. Loving your videos! Thank you for making such good content.
Thank you so much! Remember I'm not encouraging anyone to invest in makeup as much as I do (I'm a makeup minimalist with a not-so minimalist collection because I love trying new products ☺️) but you can achieve a fresh, natural look with almost any product. It's just about how you apply it! x
Since discovering your channel and Violette's last year, my perspective in makeup has changed a lot. Not exactly to copy but more of I found a style that truly matches mine. I looove makeup but the "instagram" make up style doesn't really fit my personality. You and Violette gave me the confidence to be confident in the kind of minimalist yet put together, sometimes playful, kind of makeup that I enjoy. Although, it's difficult sometimes to control myself from buying every single item you love!
Thank you so much for this lovely comment! So nice to hear you've found a style you enjoy that suits you. I'm flattered to even be in the same sentence as Violette! 😄 x
@@jennh3106 @violette _fr, She is a French makup artist with a minimalistic yet chic approach to makeup. She's also the beauty director of Estee Lauder
my everyday routine: - milky jelly cleanser by glossier - sukin pore refining toner - mecca cosmetica to save face spf 50 - milk makeup blur stick - nars pure radiant tinted moisturiser - neutrogena hydroboost concealer if needed - glossier boy brow - zoeva cocoa blend to subtly highlight and shade the eye - glossier cloud paint - frank body cherry lip tint is the only thing I wear on lips - elf finishing powder to set because I get very shiny
i need to remember to wear sunscreen more, especially because Texas summer is coming! it's an easy step for me to forget because i have a medium olive tone, so i just tan and never burn, but it is still so important
I love that you don't use a base. Most youtubers focus so much on a base and it makes me feel sort of inadequate. This is way more manageable for me :)
A review will be coming in a few weeks when my order arrives! ✨ Don't worry Lizzie, I'll be touching on the sustainability (or lack thereof) of the packaging and glitter product x
@@matildaonvideo ay thanks for replying! I also had no idea about the packaging it's just your brand is practically glossier so I got really excited lol
i used to be a regular medium/heavy makeup wearer and i swear you influenced me soooo much now that i barely wear anything ! my friend told me today that he can't tell if i'm wearing any and i never felt so flattered lol thank you
Saw Aēsop at a store in Lisbon today and spent 3 minutes wondering why I knew that brand. The shop assistant's Aussie accent made me realise - it's through you! You've made me a luxury skincare pro (along with Lisa Eldridge, the Queen, of course). Love your channel, Matilda, I think you're amazing!
Thank you so much Anusmita, what a lovely story! ☺️ I was in Lisbon late last year and would recommend a visit to SkinLife if you haven't already been - great selection of brands a bit like Space NK in the UK / Mecca in Australia. You'll see it on my channel in future! 😉 x
@@matildaonvideo I was at the Skinlife in Chiado yesterday! Seemed way smaller than SpaceNK (not surprising though, Lisbon itself is tiny compared to good ol' London). I do want to try the Resurrection hand balm so I'll probably be going back to Skinlife soon as well. Australia is on my list - I really need to move there and take in the sights, food and beauty!
I totally recommend the tan de chanel cream bronzer (if you have not tried it already), similar to the milk makeup one, but I overall just enjoy the natural sunkissed glow the chanel bronzer gives me, absolutely gorgeous
Hi, I recently brought the Chanel cream bronzer but was thinking of getting the milk makeup baked too but I was thinking how similar are they and is it worth me getting the milk one if I already have the Chanel? Can u tell me how similar they are like colour etc I would really appreciate it. FYI, I'm using my husband's TH-cam account but I am a girl x
Thanks Jordan! I've had Soleil Tan de Chanel for a while but haven't used it that much to be honest - I think I was unsure how to achieve a light look and hadn't found the right brush to assist. I'll definitely dig it out to play with it again now I'm more confident using bronzer! ☀️ x
I went minimal with my makeup last fall and haven't looked back! It's amazing how it has somehow restored my confidence in myself - even though I struggle with acne.
So glad to hear that Anna! I think one of the biggest makeup misconceptions is that people with acne need high coverage all over. If that's what gives them confidence, they should go with it, but often pinpoint concealing where needed and letting the rest of your skin breathe will make you feel better overall! 👌 Lisa Eldridge's videos on spot concealing are excellent x
You're sending me out to buy even more makeup. Wish I had your coloring. At 78 I do need some evening out of my skin color. Maybe 30 skin cancer surgeries don't help either. Love your selections and now to shop. You always inspire me to want your choices.
As a student with very small budget to spend on makeup, I have found your minimalist approach towards beauty so so endearing and refreshing. Made me go minimalist myself. Honestly, we need more people like you who promote good makeup staples and sustainability. Kudos to that!
Refreshing! No base! Yay. This is what make up is meant to be - take what you need/like to bring out the best you. Whatever that is. Full face to just lipstick. I am going to rethink my make up bag especially as before too long it is going to be humid every day. Matilda you knocked it out the park again!!!!
Thank you so much Hellen! Really appreciate that ☺️ I think many people assume they need to wear full coverage or follow alllll the steps of a glam TH-camr's routine, but makeup should be about working out what you're happy with and what you want to enhance! x
I absolutely SO appreciate the fact that you list your nail polish! I was so mesmerized by it throughout the video and was so pleasantly surprised when it was in the description along with your gorgeous makeup bag. I wish all beauty youtubers were as thorough as you 😊
Ordered some products but they haven't got to me yet. I'll be sharing a review soon! ✨ But I never comment on whether something is 'worth it', that's always a personal assessment x
Since watching your videos I’ve finally found my perfect makeup bag collection. Minimal base, cream products, lit from within, natural look..... Basically if you’re recommending it, I know I’ll like it! Thanks Matilda!
I have just binged almost all of your videos, your voice is so calming and as a kiwi I love to hear a voice from somewhere a little closer to home! thank you so much for your brilliant videos!
Thank you so much Amy! Really appreciate that ☺️ And as someone close to home, as you said, I want to say how sorry I am for the unthinkable loss New Zealand suffered last week x
Hi Matilda!!❤ Thanks to you I converted into a minimal look and cream product lover! Instead of using heavy foundations like I used to I now wear Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, and cream cheek products like the Lilah B. Lip and Cheek Duo in B. Fearless which I totally recommend. It's the most beautiful natural looking blush ever! Even though it's red it looks amazing on my fair skin! Thanks to you I also discovered RMS Living Luminizer which is my holy grail highlighter 😍❤ I just feel so weightless, fresh, and prettier now without such heavy makeup! Thank you for showing that less is more!! ❤ Love you and your kitties!! 🐱🐱❤
I just listened to a playlist of your videos as I did some major cleaning out of my room, including my makeup. Love your voice and love how enthusiastic you are about minimalistic makeup that's meant to bring out natural/ classic beauty. My travel bag consists of stuff to make minimalist/ neutral looks to go with everything made up of tried and true loves I found over the years. And whatever I use is during a normal day is always returned to my travel bag so its ready to come with me on a trip. No huss, no fuss, and I know I'll look stunning with my products. Can't wait for your next video!
Glad you’re serious about sunscreen! It’s probably the most important anti-aging product anyone can use and of course, more importantly, it helps prevent skin cancer. I’m 29 and I’m wearing it every day. (Should have started sooner!)
It's really nice seeing a simple makeup bag like yours. I've been trying to reduce the products in mine for a long time since I usually used to use a lot of different things (like foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer... the whole shabang) but your channel is inspiring me to be a bit more minimal and practical with my everyday makeup. My current makeup bag has : moisturizer, sunscreen, concealer, powder, a muted wine lipstick which I use for cheek and lips but every now and then I switch for a different color, brow pencil, mascara and a liquid highlighter (which is so natural, kinda looks wet). I skip eyeshadow for my everyday/on-the-go, but if I want something extra I put on some satin or shimmer eyeshadow on my lids (i love rosy or peachy shades the most). This eyeshadow from tomford looks amazing, I really want to try it out
Thank you Lou! I'm a minimal makeup lover with a not-so minimal collection 😂 but I try to keep my everyday makeup bag down to the essentials and just swap items in and out of it to experiment with different products x
You’ve made me fall back in love with my cream blushes lately. I start with a tinted moisturizer (I mix a gel moisturizer with Burt’s bees bb cream in light. My skin is sensitive and oily, and the bb cream is very thick and pigmented, so thinning it out with a gel moisturizer makes it lighter, less heavy in its coverage, and helps my skin to breathe), pat a cream blush onto my lids and cheeks, follow that with a cream highlighter (elf recently put out an active line and their lip and cheek palette for that line has three blush colors and a highlighter that works perfectly for quick and on the go makeup). Finish with a light layer of powder to help keep things in place and that’s it most days. My eyelashes are light so some days I skip mascara or I’ll pop some on. I dye my brows about once a month and luckily they’re even and thick enough that just that with some plucking for shaping keeps my face well framed.
I was about to sleep, but heck Matilda just uploaded. I love your simple minimal approach to makeup, breath of fresh air. I'm a makeup addict, and I'm trying to adapt to more a simple makeup routine as I believe it suits me more. You inspire me and giving me major products wants. For my everyday makeup moisturizer, sunscreen, fit me concealer and powder, clear brow gel, tent for both cheeks and lip (I use the body shop), and a mascara.
Thank you so much Zaynab, so lovely to hear that! I'm a makeup addict too so my collection isn't minimal 😂 but I love being able to experiment with new shades and textures x
FINALLY, a youtuber that's also all for the minimal makeup life! I hardly wear any base after sunscreen either (the Biore ones are my HG, whether spray, essence, or gel-types). I always play up my eyes and lips more and I leave my skin bare - If I do feel like it, I'll only go as far as my trusty Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint which is super foolproof. If I really have to though, I'll go for my Moonshot Micro Setting Fit Cushion foundation. I also LOVE using cream products because of it's foolproof-ness too. I usually do a cat eye with the Maybelline gel liner (the one in the pot), if I want to give my eyes a little extra something, I wear the shimmery beige Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadow. Glossier Boy Brow is the ONLY brow product I put on, nothing else, and for lips, I tend to go for tints and tinted balms rather than lipsticks because again, it's foolproof. I reach for the Holika Holika Enamel Volip Oil Tint, or the Innisfree Vivid Tint Rouge, or the Innisfree Earl Grey My Lip Balm (which has a tint), and a recent fave, the Clio Virgin Kiss Silkuid Lip (a liquid lipstick, but it stains the lips, which is how I prefer to apply it).
As someone who switches up their makeup routine constantly just for fun, I really love your videos. They've been inspiring me to go more minimal esp as I'm in school. I recently bought the milk bronzer and I'm waiting for it to deliver to try it out.
Before my wedding last year, I wore a full face almost every day because I was practicing to do my own wedding makeup! These days I am quite minimal on weekdays (sleep is important), but on Saturdays I love sitting down at my kitchen table with TH-cam videos (like this one!) and playing with makeup. I usually come out with a full face on those days, for whatever plans I have in the afternoon. Sundays are pretty much makeup-free, except for lip products! Currently loving Bobbi Brown's high shimmer lip gloss in Bellini, and Lanolips in Rhubarb for stay at home days.
For me, I use a medium to full coverage foundation but I use it around my eyes, mouth and on any dark spots. For brows, I use a brow pencil and brow mascara. When it comes to my makeup products, I am not married to any one product in particular but I have been extremely faithful to L'oreal mascaras for years. I love them because they don't flake underneath my eyes. I always reach for Carmex lip balms. During the day, I use their spf ones and at night I use their pots. I love the medicated tingle on my lips, so satisfying!
I'm in grad school so I keep it simple for practical reasons: skincare is rosewater toner, Neutrogena moisturizer, sunscreen from the drugstore, then prime with Ordinary primer mixed with L'Oreal luminous lotion. For my face I do Dr. Jart's BB cream all over, then Maybelline FitMe concealer on my darker spots & under eyes. I set with CoverGirl power, bronze & blush are whatever powders I got in my ipsy bag most recently, and Morphe highlight. My brows are done with the NYX gel and mascara is also whatever I got from ipsy. I'm a dewy girl by nature, so I use mostly powder products to counteract the shine!
my everyday makeup: -a small dab of neutrogena hydro boost -coppertone sunscreen spf 55 -nyx on the rise mascara -a small dot of nyx can’t stop wont stop concealer -nyx bright idea illuminating stick -a little bit of maybelline fit me loose powder around the nose bc oil -wet n wild loose highlighting powder -elf lip lacquer (lol it’s a lot of nyx stuff bc i got a lot as a graduation gift)
For skin, one of my favourite products is Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Skin Tint. It's a lightweight, whipped gel formula that acts as a tinted moisturizer/foundation/concealer/spf 20 depending on how you apply it. Two fav mascaras are Georgio Armani Eyes to Kill and Lancome Hypnose. IMHO it's all about the brush and these 2 are the very best. Love your videos! Cheers
LOVE this video! I’m very minimal w makeup as well. Only the tiniest bit of concealer under my eyes, nose and potential spots. Laura Mercier translucent powder, YSL faux cils mascara w a Shu Eumera lash curler, Glossier eye paint in Cub, define the eyes w a brown NYX pencil right under the lash line, a little taupe Lancôme pallete shadow for further definition and an Yves Rocher tinted strawberry lip balm. I’ll usually skip blush since I blush so easily anyway and bronzer only for special occasions or when I’m feeling a little extra. Lol anyway you’re amazing and thank you for another great video! 💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you so much Justine, glad you love minimal makeup too! I haven't found many other channels that share our love of a natural look, but I love Lisa Eldridge, Violette_FR and Harry Makes It Up 👍 x
I’m pretty minimal in my makeup as well. I’m an esthetician so my skin is my top priority and I use makeup to just enhance a few features. But honestly even before becoming an esthetician I was minimal with my products. I’m a big blush fan, I always think my face needs a little color. My favorites are glossiers cloud paints because they stay on all day and you can play with mixing the colors, and I also love their mascara it’s so natural looking. Champagne rose luminizer is my favorite too. I love cream products but my one powder that I’m obsessed with is Marc jacob’s omega bronzer, so good.
Thank you Susan! Experts like you always know beautiful makeup starts with great skin 👏 All about enhancing, not changing your appearance with makeup x
Fun choices, Matilda! I loved the look of the Cle de Peau cream blush. Beautiful (and probable worth a week’s groceries!). I’m getting more and more minimal when it comes to my day to day look: Estée Lauder water based Day Wear foundation but just a little mixed with a dot of face oil or serum, Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away concealer, Bite Multistick in Mascarpone, ByTerry Mascara(lengthens like crazy!), and Rouje lip color in Emily. That’s it!
I am not really into makeup and stuff. I am not even sure these products will suit my skin tone but , I AM ADDICTED TO YOUR CHANNEL . I am in love with the way you speak .
I adore your videos! They are so calming! And minimal makeup looks are truly the best bc they enhance one’s natural features. I like powder products (although I recently got into cream) and one of my all time complexion products is the Kevyn AuCoin neo-highlighter in Sahara.. I take a big fluffy brush and swipe all the way down this bar of cool to light to warm tones and use it all over my face for a warm glow. It isn’t shimmery (not a highlighter) nor too “bronze” (not a true bronzer). If i need more bronze, I’ll go in with another color over but I always start with this as a natural base. I love just that as a base with concealer (either nars RCC or sisley phyto cernes or glossier stretch concealer) and boy brow plus my HG mascara (Sisley So Intense in brown) and my fav lip liner (Dior #573 airy mauve) plus lip balm (Dior lip glow 001- the original)- I usually sweep on some blush too- either pinky or peachy. But lately I’ve been obsessed with the Patrick Ta blushes in “She’s so LA” and “Do we know her”.. they are essentially glossier “dusk” and “beam”. I love a sparkly eye and when I don’t feel like using my powder eyeshadows, I love a wash of my beloved Dior Fusion Mono’s (now discontinued) which are a wonderful wash of buildable cream/powder you apply with your finger. I also am in love with my latest splurges which are the TF cream eyeshadow in platinum (which has much more depth than I originally thought) and for some sparkle, the ND chroma crystal topped in peach. I sometimes tightline with the PML gel eyeliner in Blitz brown... as it adds so much depth to my upper lash line. Your videos are an inspiration for me, as I have quite a large makeup collection, but I try to create little go to looks and then rotate in some new products as I go.
Thanks for taking the time to share this Amy! Sounds like we have a similar approach of rotating products into our makeup bags ☺️ Thank you for the kind words! x
Loved this 😍 atm I'm trying to use up my current makeup products so I'm kinda on a no-buy so I'm making a mental list of things that I want to try when I have used up some more of my current products
Don't worry Maria, I'm on a no buy for the whole of this year! 😂 Limiting myself to very occasional special limited edition products or purchases with vouchers, so I can focus on saving and make the most of the lovely pieces I already have x
Wow, thank you so much Loc! Always blown away by comments like this - when I started making videos, I never imagined people would discover and even decide to adopt a new approach to makeup. Always about doing what works best for you! So nice to hear you're enjoying a fresh, dewy look. Hope you're feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin! ☺️👏 x
I love these types of videos so much! It’s so interesting hearing you talk about your everyday products because I’m most often interested in buying products that I can wear every day. I love doing lots of research and splurging on a high end product that I think I’ll love and if I love it I’ll use it all up and then I’ll try something new :)
Thank you so much Ester! I guess all of my collection could swap into this makeup bag for everyday use because it's about how you apply products - lightly and minimally is the way for me ☺️ x
I have combo skin and can get away with a cream blush and skipping foundation, but powders are a must. But your approach to makeup is so classy, I absolutely adore your channel.
I absolutely LOVE how refreshingly positive and supportive this comment section is! And of course, thank you SO much Matilda for inspiring individuals who enjoy a more laid-back/minimalist approach to makeup, to be able to feel confident in that! ☺ This video has also opened up a supportive space for conversations to be had among people who feel that Instagram makeup looks can be too intimidating, unrelatable & unrealistic. It is truly wonderful to know that there are others out here who feel this way about the all too saturated and frankly, sometimes overrated 'Insta glam'. Keep up the amazing content love!💕 And anyone reading this, always stay true to what you really enjoy!💋
I started investing in good quality makeup after following your channel, and what a difference it has made! I found my favorite lipstick formula (CT Matte Revolution) and swear by the Tom Ford Traceless stick foundation + RMS uncoverup as concealer. I feel so put together and polished rather than covered up these days :) The biggest change for me has been application; switching to good quality, natural hair brushes makes even a 5-10 minute makeup application feel luxurious and pampering. Do you have any favorite makeup brushes? Or do you prefer applying with your fingers since you favor cream products?
So nice to hear that, glad you're having fun discovering new products! ☺️ As you can see from the lack of brushes in this video haha, I love to use fingers. Just creates the best natural finish in my opinion x
Great content again after the 5 minute makeup video. I always like minimal makeup in everyday routine particularly multitasking products. I am so obsessed with it now. Happy Sunday! 😊😊😊
i start my makeup routine by putting bio oil mixed with sunbum sunscreen on my face. then i use maybelline’s fitme foundation (i might switch to just concealer now that my skin has cleared up sufficiently) over acne scars and discoloration. sometimes i wear pacifica’s rainbow crystals highlighter. my glossier order comes in this week, so i’ll be adding boy brow and lip gloss to my routine!
I love a minimal makeup look. Sometimes I'll put eyeshadow and highlight on....instantly regret it. I feel most beautiful in light makeup. Thanks for the tips! Just found your channel an hour ago and im binging!
Thank you so much, glad you found me! 😄 Love the way you put that - I feel most beautiful in light makeup too! Beauty should always be about doing what works for you x
I love this so much! I don't like wearing much face makeup because thats just never been me (I have rosacea and it doesn't get covered unless I use some heavy products and I just don't like how it feels to be honest) So I do basically everything else- much like this video- and I love getting new ideas on how to have minimal effective products. Thank you!!
Accidently ran across your channel few months back. Love your videos. Your voice remind me of tv host for travel. Very comfortable, professional and inspiring. You make me want to purchase some of the makeup colors you talk about, which I have. The colors match and enhance my skin tone beautifully, even though we are different skin tones.
Matilda! I appreciate your videos! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ I love your minimalistic style videos SUCH a breath of fresh air! I used to hoard makeup because other youtubers did that so I thought it was normal.. not that having lots of makeup is bad it’s just not realistic for MY lifestyle.. so, minimalistic makeup routine it is! I end up reaching for the same few products anyways! I’ve learned to appreciate and almost.. cherish? my favourite beauty products! Another great video! I’m in notification squad 😆
Thank you so much Cat! I always say I'm a makeup minimalist with a not-so minimalist collection 😂 but it's been that way long before I started filming videos as a hobby, I just love makeup and experimenting with shades and textures. All about using what works for your lifestyle though, well said! x
My minimal makeup bag is quite similar. It contains the it cosmetics cc+ cream, glossier stretch concealer, glossier boy brow, mascara, charlotte tilbury cream shadow in marie antoinette, glossier haloscope, tata harper cheek tint, milk baked bronzer and ct lipstick.
I honestly feel like ur maybe the only person who could make me go out of my house just to get myself that Tom Ford cream eyeshadow 😂 its sooo pretty and the way u described it just make it even more pretty. You’ve sold me on that one! x
Thank you Jasmine! All thanks to Miranda Kerr, I saw it in her wedding makeup video and knew applying a light layer would create a perfect subtle glow ✨ x
love u matilda one thing i noticed in ur videos is that u never force us into buying that is so amazing btw i became rmsbeauty addict by watching ur video its an amazing brand
HOW WERE YOU READING MY MIND?! Just a couple minutes ago i was looking for everyday makeuo videos bc they are my favorite and i couldn't find any interesting ones and i had wished you uploaded a video because i was bored and HERE YOU GO! HEARING MY PRAYERS
I'm always so intimidated by bronzer, so it's nice to hear from people who don't normally wear it finding something that they enjoy. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Jess! Don't worry, I used to be intimated too, I bought a couple that sat there and didn't get much love because I wasn't sure how/where to apply it. So now I take it reeeally easy and just draw a tiny line across my forehead near my hairline, lines down my cheekbone that I blend out before blush (or maybe slightly underneath in the hollow of the cheek to contour) and a little across the bridge of the nose. Really where you'd get naturally sunkissed! ☀️ x
You need to try the Make Beauty Blot Pot. I never hear people talking about it, but it is a brilliant dewy flush of color that I use as eyeshadow, blush and lip color. I also love their Dew Pot and the Dew Pot in bronze.
I have both Adriana! Picked them up on my travels last year and love the dewy finish and colour of the Blot Pot, particularly on eyes. You'll see them on my channel at some stage! 👍 x
Wonderful video Matilda! I love your approach to makeup and emphasis on skincare/protection. My routine is nearly identical! Ever since I began investing in my skincare, as opposed to makeup products, I've found the confidence to go without foundation and other base products while still having fun with make up. Thank you! 💞
Thank you so much Tina! So nice to hear your story 👏 Great makeup (not to mention the confidence to wear it your way) definitely starts with great skin! x
Yes to minimalist makeup and mega yes to sunscreen. Aussie sun is so harsh :( I put on SPF50 every morning and when I'm bothered the makeup I wear is: Benefit Gimme Brow, a bit of cream blush (either Benetint or Aritaum cushion cheek colour) and a lip stain (loving Mac's versicolour varnish atm). Usually I just do sunscreen and a lip tint/stain.
They're both the best concealers I've ever tried! It's why I never comment on something being 'worth it' because it's different for everyone. Luckily the Chanel lasts almost a year, and the Cle de Peau much much longer for me! I've tried a lot of others that haven't worked for me so I'm happy to stick to these two 👌 x
Wow, there you go! Mine has been going for over two years 👍 In that amount of time, the cost might be the same given the number of other concealers someone might repurchase x
would love to see you try the new huda beauty liquid eyeshadows. i’ve been seeing them everywhere on instagram and such and it seems like a bridge between the “full glam” makeup community and the minimalist community.
One of my favourite Aussie makeup artists Tobi Henney used the red one on a client recently and it looked gorgeous! Definitely on my wishlist when my very long no buy ends 😄 x
I love your videos and style of makeup. I have oily, blemish-prone skin, so I tend to use powders and higher coverage foundation. But I'd love to venture into a more natural, creamy look if I ever get my skin in check!
I tried the glossier boy brow gel because of one of your reviews, and I absolutely love it! The perfect, everyday minimal product that I can use to achieve Cara Delevingne brows. So happy you introduced me to yet another new favorite makeup products!
Hi Matilda! Thank you again (as always) for a great makeup video content! I love seeing your makeup bag essentials. I wanna share also my current makeup bag: Base - Powder foundation / Pressed powder / ColourPop No Filter Concealer Brows - JCat Brow pencil in black Eyeshadow - ColourPop Super Shock Shadows Mascara - CoverGirl Total Tease Mascara Blush - ColourPop Super Shock Blush in Cruel Intentions / Cloud Cosmetics Liquid Blush Bronzer - MAC x Aaliyah Bronzing Powder in Baby Girl Highlight - ColourPop Super Shock Highlight in Lunch Money Lips - everything in my collection. I use them on rotation :D
A nice video as always Matilda 💕And I love when you upload at this time, witch is Sunday morning for me, the time of the week when I read IntoTheGloss articles and watch yt videos I've missed from the past week ! Here's what my beauty bag looks like right now : Skincare - Glossier milky jelly cleanser (my second bottle since they launched in France in October) - Glossier solution (made my skin go from constant breakouts to one or two hormonal pimples) - Embryolisse lait crème concentré (my moms holy grail product and now mine also, it's very similar to glossier priming moisturizer but with an amazing smell) - Avene spf 50 Makeup - Embryolisse bb cream - Sephora collection concealer for my under eyes and pimples if needed (I'm almost out and didn't really liked it, so if anyone know a concealer in the lower price range and cruelty free to recommend go ahead) - Glossier wowder - RMS lip to cheek in demure (from the pop collection my new favorite item in my beauty bag) - RMS magic luminizer or Glossier haloscope in quartz (for both highlight and eye shadow) - Elf eyebrow duo in light That's it, I never use mascara because my lashes are too long and too blond to be coated (with anyone with the same problem found a mascara that works please tell me !) Have a nice day everyone ✨
Thank you Anna! Lovely makeup bag choices 👏 This has been my regular upload time since I started my channel 18 months ago, but I try to include more videos during the week where possible x
contour is the step i wont skip with in my everyday makeup routine, the Fenty Beauty's Amber stick is a perfect grey toned shade for pale skin as well. It leaves a a natural shading for ur nose and the checks if u blend it with ur fingers/ sponges/ brushes !!
I used a very similar group of products when I filmed a video on my friend What Kate Finds' channel ☺️ Basically what I look like all the time, with subtle colour differences haha x
Now I have my eye on that RMS bronzer 👀 Everyday makeup essentials: Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder, Glossier Cloud Paints, Milk Baked Bronzer, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter/Nudestix Hey Honey Highlight, Glossier Boy Brow, ABH Brow Wiz, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Bite Agave Lip Balm, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray 💕💕 Love your channel!!
LOVE the Milk Make up Bronzer. I don't know if this is a formula dupe or not, but the RMS Bronzer looks sooooo familiar to the Pixi Beauty Bronzer you can find in the UK or the States! When you swatched it, I saw it has the same effect! The shade I have it a little lighter, though. I use mac Face & Body in C5 (on bad skin days) or Philosophy Hope in a Jar in Tan, Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium (G6), Boy Brow in Black, Whatever shade of lipstick I'm into as blush, Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer in Sucre d'Orange, & Laura Mercier Setting Powder
When you're broke but you wanna be like Matilda ;;
the struggle is definitely real 😄 but there are totally products out there if we want to embrace minimal makeup just gotta really look hard
Absolutely, no need to invest in any of these products! I honestly believe almost any product can be used to create a minimal look - it's just about looking for ways to apply it in a more fresh, subtle way 👍 x
I recommend NYX for all your low-budget minimal makeup needs ;)
@@MegRadford NYX and LA Girl are great cost-effective alternatives! I've been in love with LA Girl Velvet Stick cream blush and bronzer, so smooth and yet so pigmented ❤
I hear you!🙂
Oh my goodness, you make me want to throw out all my powder products and switch to 100% cream products. Maybe I will (in 10 years when I finish up my current inventory!)
Haha once you're a cream convert, you might never go back! 😉 x
I love having both. Cream is so easy for minimal days, but I can't give up my powder blush for those days I want to feel luxurious and take my time.
Do it!!!! I am a powder free person and people always say positive things about my makeup :-)
I switched recently and I love it, my skin looks so glowy and radiant and it cut out so much time in my routine! I can't recommend it enough!
Thank you so much Karolina! Absolutely, I'm always just sharing what I enjoy using. Not a salesperson. Thanks for noticing! ☺️ x

who’s violette, and what’s her channel name?
dreamamulet couldn’t agree more!
Who’s Violette?? I need all the makeup inspiration i can get
@@jennh3106
@violette _fr, She is a French makup artist with a minimalistic yet chic approach to makeup. She's also the beauty director of Estee Lauder
my everyday routine:
- milky jelly cleanser by glossier
- sukin pore refining toner
- mecca cosmetica to save face spf 50
- milk makeup blur stick
- nars pure radiant tinted moisturiser
- neutrogena hydroboost concealer if needed
- glossier boy brow
- zoeva cocoa blend to subtly highlight and shade the eye
- glossier cloud paint
- frank body cherry lip tint is the only thing I wear on lips
- elf finishing powder to set because I get very shiny
Thanks for sharing! Glad to see the Mecca SPF in there too 👏 x
Not insane at all, and not even a large number of products compared to most routines you see online. Plus, it's about using what makes you happy! 👍🏼 x
Omg just came out of the SAT and I’m so happy that I have this waiting for me!!!
not sure what that is, but hope it was good for you! xx
Same!
Same!!!😂
ifoundtheavocados SATs is a standardized test for American High schoolers who are about to go off to college/university
me too!
i need to remember to wear sunscreen more, especially because Texas summer is coming! it's an easy step for me to forget because i have a medium olive tone, so i just tan and never burn, but it is still so important
Great to hear you thinking like that Nidhi, it *is* so important for everyone, regardless of skin tone! ☀️ x
SO important! It is the most effective anti-aging ingredient, which obviously doesn’t take into consideration the health benefits. 😉
I love that you don't use a base. Most youtubers focus so much on a base and it makes me feel sort of inadequate. This is way more manageable for me :)
Thank you Cindy! Maybe that's the difference - I'm not a TH-camr, just a real person with a real job who makes these videos as a hobby ☺️ x
*REVIEW GLOSSIER PLAY ASAP*
Omg yess please
Saw that she placed an order the day it launched! Very excited to see the review when it comes
Please don’t support glossier play the double packaging is so unnecessary and the glitter is non biodegradable x
A review will be coming in a few weeks when my order arrives! ✨ Don't worry Lizzie, I'll be touching on the sustainability (or lack thereof) of the packaging and glitter product x
@@matildaonvideo ay thanks for replying! I also had no idea about the packaging it's just your brand is practically glossier so I got really excited lol
i used to be a regular medium/heavy makeup wearer and i swear you influenced me soooo much now that i barely wear anything !
my friend told me today that he can't tell if i'm wearing any and i never felt so flattered lol
thank you
Ohh thank you so much, that's so nice to hear! Someone (correctly) thinking I have nothing on my face would be the biggest compliment for me too 😂👏 x
What do you wear? :)
Agree 100%
@@anusmitaray967 I'm going to lisbon next month, thanks for the tip!
Have you tried the tan de soleil? I like it but it pulls so orange on me :/
Thanks Jordan! I've had Soleil Tan de Chanel for a while but haven't used it that much to be honest - I think I was unsure how to achieve a light look and hadn't found the right brush to assist. I'll definitely dig it out to play with it again now I'm more confident using bronzer! ☀️ x
I also like the les beiges powder bronze from Chanel as well. So beautiful
You always look fabulous Sandra! 👏 We'll have to compare makeup bags next time I'm in LA x
I wish all beauty youtubers were as thorough as you 😊
Thank you Jessica! I always include as much detail as possible in the description box, thanks for noticing ☺️ x
Thank you for posting! I love how you incorporate some items for one than one use!
Thank you Tam! 😄 Lots of other multi-tasking makeup content coming in future x
I'm looking forward to it! Just wondering if you've tried the new Glossier play? If you have do you think its worth it?
Ordered some products but they haven't got to me yet. I'll be sharing a review soon! ✨ But I never comment on whether something is 'worth it', that's always a personal assessment x
Can't wait to see a video on it!@@matildaonvideo
I love how you arranged the products from what you use first to what you use last in your thumbnail :)
Thank you! 😄 x
Since watching your videos I’ve finally found my perfect makeup bag collection. Minimal base, cream products, lit from within, natural look..... Basically if you’re recommending it, I know I’ll like it! Thanks Matilda!
Thank you Hannah! Sounds like a great makeup bag 👌 x
Hi Matilda!!❤
Thanks to you I converted into a minimal look and cream product lover!
Love you and your kitties!! 🐱🐱❤
Thank you! So glad you're enjoying minimal makeup. Your routine sounds lovely! 👏 x
So perfect xx
Thank you Audrey! 😄 x
Thank you so much Ellie! I love putting TH-cam on in the background while I do a tidy up too, so I'm glad I could help 😂 x
Glad you’re serious about sunscreen! It’s probably the most important anti-aging product anyone can use and of course, more importantly, it helps prevent skin cancer. I’m 29 and I’m wearing it every day. (Should have started sooner!)
Definitely Erin, the most important product you can put on your skin for so many reasons! 👏 x
I love how your swatches sent messy, they always look so perfect!
Thank you! 😄🎨 x
Hello there,
Work makeup: liquid lipstick Colourpop (take a pixie), elf eyebrow pencil ( neutral brown)+ Colourpop eyebrowpencil combined, Laura mercier tinted moisturizer oil free (TAN), LAGirl pro conceal (Warm Honey), Mac NC45 for light dusting and banana setting powder ( Sacha Buttercup) for underye.
Thanks for sharing your routine Shana! 👍 x
Thanks for sharing Kierly! Glad you're enjoying cream blushes too 👌 x
Thank you so much for sharing! Glad we enjoy a similar makeup style ☺️👍 x
This is exactly the makeup kit I’ve been looking for! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Mayan! So nice to hear that ☺️ x
As someone who switches up their makeup routine constantly just for fun, I really love your videos. They've been inspiring me to go more minimal esp as I'm in school.
I recently bought the milk bronzer and I'm waiting for it to deliver to try it out.
Thank you so much! Switching up a makeup routine just for fun sounds exactly like me ☺️ x
I love it Matilda! So am I, all about the minimal & put on some products that works well in everyday routine.
Thank you Siti, great to hear! 😄 x
Thanks for sharing Mai! 👍 x
The Kaja cushion blush is amazing. It’s a heart shape stamp. It’s packaging adorable yet practical. It takes me 30 seconds or less to apply my blush.
Ohh cute, yes I've heard of those! ☺️ x
Thanks for sharing! ☺️👍 x
I always find this video so soothing and satisfying. Must have watched this about 20 times! 💕
Thank you so much Becca! Definitely planning to film an updated version this year ☺️👍 x
Matilda I can’t wait to see it. 😃💕
Thanks for sharing your routine Savanna! Embrace the dewy look 😉 x
my everyday makeup:
-a small dab of neutrogena hydro boost
-coppertone sunscreen spf 55
-nyx on the rise mascara
-a small dot of nyx can’t stop wont stop concealer
-nyx bright idea illuminating stick
-a little bit of maybelline fit me loose powder around the nose bc oil
-wet n wild loose highlighting powder
-elf lip lacquer
(lol it’s a lot of nyx stuff bc i got a lot as a graduation gift)
Thanks for sharing! What a nice gift 👏 x
you come off really elegant and poised by your makeup selection, really shows that you dont need to much makeup on a daily basis
Thank you so much! Very nice of you ☺️ x
Cheers
Thank you for sharing Barbara! 😄 x
Thank you so much, and thanks for sharing! Sounds like a great routine 😄 x
I’m obsessed with your minimalist approach, even though I always wear a full face, full coverage look. Love your videos! ❤️
Thank you so much, so nice to hear that! Glad you can still enjoy it ☺️ x
I’ve been watching your channel for about a year now. But you’re the only channel I have found that shares my love of a minimal look!
Thank you so much Justine, glad you love minimal makeup too! I haven't found many other channels that share our love of a natural look, but I love Lisa Eldridge, Violette_FR and Harry Makes It Up 👍 x
I have been obsessed with all things Cle de peau! Their lipstick in China Doll is my new fav!
Ooh I haven't tried their lipsticks before! We'll have to go shopping this summer 😍👏 x
That’s it!
Thanks for sharing! Lovely routine ☺️ x
I am not really into makeup and stuff. I am not even sure these products will suit my skin tone but , I AM ADDICTED TO YOUR CHANNEL . I am in love with the way you speak .
Haha thank you so much Jordan! 😄 Really appreciate you watching x
Same, what I usually do is add them to Pinterest as a reminder. So many products to use up and so many lovely items to purchase.
Don't worry Maria, I'm on a no buy for the whole of this year! 😂 Limiting myself to very occasional special limited edition products or purchases with vouchers, so I can focus on saving and make the most of the lovely pieces I already have x
I love the simplicity of this ! ❤️
Thank you so much! This isn't even as simple as I can go 😂 I'll be doing more multi-tasking makeup content in future x
Matilda yes ! I would love to see that 💕
Just want to thank you, you inspired me to better my skin and skip foundation. I’m now obsessed with dewy, natural makeup
the milk bronzer is my absolute favorite! i love how it blends so nice into the skin and looks like a natural tan
So glad you're a fan of it too Alyanna! 👌 x
Thank you Daniela! ☺️ x

@@matildaonvideo Aww you're welcome Matilda ❤ I'm glad to be here again. I'll be watching the old videos I missed.
I absolutely LOVE how refreshingly positive and supportive this comment section is! And of course, thank you SO much Matilda for inspiring individuals who enjoy a more laid-back/minimalist approach to makeup, to be able to feel confident in that! ☺
This video has also opened up a supportive space for conversations to be had among people who feel that Instagram makeup looks can be too intimidating, unrelatable & unrealistic. It is truly wonderful to know that there are others out here who feel this way about the all too saturated and frankly, sometimes overrated 'Insta glam'.
Keep up the amazing content love!💕 And anyone reading this, always stay true to what you really enjoy!💋
Thank you so much for this lovely comment Chelsea! Very lucky to have such a thoughtful, supportive community here, and you're part of that! ☺️👏 x
I am so tired, but when Maltilda uploads watch!!! Love the content!!!
Thank you so much Brittany! 😄 x
Great content again after the 5 minute makeup video. I always like minimal makeup in everyday routine particularly multitasking products. I am so obsessed with it now. Happy Sunday! 😊😊😊
Thank you Katherine! Happy Sunday to you too 👌 x
i start my makeup routine by putting bio oil mixed with sunbum sunscreen on my face. then i use maybelline’s fitme foundation (i might switch to just concealer now that my skin has cleared up sufficiently) over acne scars and discoloration. sometimes i wear pacifica’s rainbow crystals highlighter. my glossier order comes in this week, so i’ll be adding boy brow and lip gloss to my routine!
Hope you enjoy your Glossier arrivals Rachel! 👍 x
Thank you!!
Thank you Mads! Glad you're a minimal makeup fan too ☺️ x
Thank you so much Sue! Really appreciate the feedback and kind words. Glad you found me! ☺️ x
Sounds lovely Emily! 👏 x
Thank you! Absolutely, I'm never selling anything here - just sharing products I enjoy using 😄 Appreciate you noticing that x
Haha perfect timing! 😄👏 x
You rlly inspire me to take better care of my skin!
Thank you so much! That's the best feedback I could ever receive 😄👏 x
Loooove the products you use!! All of them!!
Thank you, great to hear! 😄 x
Thanks for sharing Jaz! Glad you're a stickler for sunscreen too 👏☀️ x
No way you actually spent £42 on a chanel concealer, bloody hell ahah
Cle De Peau concealer is also really pricey (70 USD) but SOOOOO worth it. You don't need a lot especially if you use minimal make up.
@@matildaonvideo I've had my Cle De Peau concealer for over four years! and it's still going good
Wow, there you go! Mine has been going for over two years 👍 In that amount of time, the cost might be the same given the number of other concealers someone might repurchase x
I think before testing our new makeup products I think you should get little samples so you can decide if it’s worth it or not
thanks for sharing what's in ur bag! loved hearing about the staple pieces and how you swap out certain products
Thank you Charissa! 😄 x
I love your videos. Can't afford any of the products but I love makeup and you present everything in a very pleasing manner
Thank you Anavi! So nice to hear that ☺️ x
Yay! The big reveal! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Matilda’s MVPs (most valued products)! 🏆🥇🎖
Haha so hard to choose MVPs, most of my makeup collection is in that category! 😄 x
Matilda ♥️
would love to see you try the new huda beauty liquid eyeshadows. i’ve been seeing them everywhere on instagram and such and it seems like a bridge between the “full glam” makeup community and the minimalist community.
One of my favourite Aussie makeup artists Tobi Henney used the red one on a client recently and it looked gorgeous! Definitely on my wishlist when my very long no buy ends 😄 x
Using the Glossier priming moisteriser...really love it. I ordered it online after watching your videos. Thanks Matilda ^^
Thank you, glad to hear you're enjoying it too! 👍 x
I can’t believe you only have 100k you deserve way more for the work you put in :)
Ohh thank you so much Addie! Much appreciated ☺️ x
I love your videos and style of makeup. I have oily, blemish-prone skin, so I tend to use powders and higher coverage foundation. But I'd love to venture into a more natural, creamy look if I ever get my skin in check!
Thank you Shannon! All the best with it 👍 x
Would love to see an updated version! Love your videos as always ❤️
Thank you so much Emma! Sharing my current at-home routine in a video soon ☺️👍 x
I am so in love with my cream products thanks to you ! x
Ohh that's so nice to hear, thank you Filipa! 😄 x
Thanks for making such simple- straight to the point video!! So refreshing and fun
Thank you so much Juliette! Always keeping it short and sharp here ☺️ x
Matilda ❤️❤️
I tried the glossier boy brow gel because of one of your reviews, and I absolutely love it! The perfect, everyday minimal product that I can use to achieve Cara Delevingne brows. So happy you introduced me to yet another new favorite makeup products!
So glad you love it Catherine! I can't go past it 👏 x

Thank you Ivana! ☺️ And thanks for sharing x
A nice video as always Matilda 💕And I love when you upload at this time, witch is Sunday morning for me, the time of the week when I read IntoTheGloss articles and watch yt videos I've missed from the past week ! Here's what my beauty bag looks like right now :
Skincare
- Glossier milky jelly cleanser (my second bottle since they launched in France in October)
- Glossier solution (made my skin go from constant breakouts to one or two hormonal pimples)
- Embryolisse lait crème concentré (my moms holy grail product and now mine also, it's very similar to glossier priming moisturizer but with an amazing smell)
- Avene spf 50
Makeup
- Embryolisse bb cream
- Sephora collection concealer for my under eyes and pimples if needed (I'm almost out and didn't really liked it, so if anyone know a concealer in the lower price range and cruelty free to recommend go ahead)
- Glossier wowder
- RMS lip to cheek in demure (from the pop collection my new favorite item in my beauty bag)
- RMS magic luminizer or Glossier haloscope in quartz (for both highlight and eye shadow)
- Elf eyebrow duo in light
That's it, I never use mascara because my lashes are too long and too blond to be coated (with anyone with the same problem found a mascara that works please tell me !) Have a nice day everyone ✨
Thank you Anna! Lovely makeup bag choices 👏 This has been my regular upload time since I started my channel 18 months ago, but I try to include more videos during the week where possible x
I just love this makeup bag !! I'm also minimalist when IT comes to the daily makeup😍
Thank you Veronica! ☺️ x
contour is the step i wont skip with in my everyday makeup routine, the Fenty Beauty's Amber stick is a perfect grey toned shade for pale skin as well. It leaves a a natural shading for ur nose and the checks if u blend it with ur fingers/ sponges/ brushes !!
Ooh sounds good! 👍 x
What a beautiful blush!!!! I want it!
Such a lovely light texture Eleni! 👌 x
Would love an updated version of this! Great video!
Thank you, hope to film one at some stage! 👍 I still use all of these products very often x
that rms bronzer looks so nice for my olive skin tone :D
I'm sure it would be! Such a beautiful shade 👌 x
So curious to see you apply these! I always love your color choices.
I used a very similar group of products when I filmed a video on my friend What Kate Finds' channel ☺️ Basically what I look like all the time, with subtle colour differences haha x
Now I have my eye on that RMS bronzer 👀
Everyday makeup essentials: Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder, Glossier Cloud Paints, Milk Baked Bronzer, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter/Nudestix Hey Honey Highlight, Glossier Boy Brow, ABH Brow Wiz, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Bite Agave Lip Balm, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray 💕💕
Love your channel!!
Thank you Isabella! And thanks for sharing 😄 x
Thanks for sharing your routine Ciara! ☺️ x
Your videos are gems. Can you do an updated cream blush video?? :)
Thank you Veronica! Already planning a cream blush update in future 👍 x
