We always make sure to visit Ouray/Silverton/Telluride area on our Out West Adventures. We cant resist the trails and the views from those mountain passes. We have done a lot of trails in the area over the last 10 yrs and never get tired of any of them. Plus there are still several we havent done, so, we keep going back....
Went there in 2002, planning a trip for August 2017. When we were there it was early July and Black Bear Pass wasn't open yet because of snow. If you are planning a trip to Ouray, and plan on riding some trails, wait until late summer because Black Bear is a bucket list trail.
Love your videos. I’m a Jeep jamboree trail guide in Arkansas. Ozark adventure. I also have a 6” Tara flex long arm kit on my rubicon. I can’t wait to get to Colorado again!!
Went there last year in late August in a 2019 TRD Pro 4 Runner. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been. I have made a pact with myself that I will go there at least once a year for the rest of my life. I was new to off roading and did not quite make it to the top of Yankee Boy Basin. It was the first trail we did that week. If I would have done it again after getting some more experience I believe I would have made it to the top. That is a good reason to go back and try again. You won't be dissapointed if you go, I promise. We went to Moab after and it was fun... but my wife and I both agreed we wished we would have stayed those days in Ouray.
I haven't tried this place out yet but will now awesome scenery. I have a jeep wrangler Rubicon jk it has a lift 40 tires 513 gears Dana 60 axles front and rear lockers and a hemi engine in it. It's a blast off roading.
Hey guys, this is a great video. Thanks for posting. I am glad you mentioned a bit of the Ute people and lead Ouray. I am sad that the Utes do live there in that area of the San Juan Mountain. I do know many people there take care of the land. Keep it simple.
The "Million Dollar Highway" got its name because it cost about a million dollars per mile to build it over a hundred years ago. The highway goes from Ouray to Silverton.
@@staplesoap Yup...its considered the million dollar highway from Durango to Silverton over Molas and Coal Bank pass, then on to Ouray over Red Mountain. Absolutely stunning country....
@@JohnnyUtah13 Also worth it's weight in gold when you think you're low on fuel coming off the trail and can coast almost all the way back to Ouray... so I've heard 😂
My most favorite part of the world. I was hoping you'd go over more passes there, Imogine, Engineer, Cinnamon, Stony, Black Bear and Ophir. Was there in the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Beautiful place; i love those old mining towns, there's so much to see and do. I would've objected to being winched up after a second try lol I don't give up until i make it, but i'm determined like that :P The Pikes Peak area, especially Old Stage Rd were my stomping grounds. It's got some of the best rails you've never heard or dreamed of.
I love how jeep has such are awesome community everyone loves there jeep with are passion, makes me proud to own are JK :) just wish Australia had the same type of community the US dose.
I remember seeing that around Christmas time. My grandparents had a cabin right across from the old hotel......great times there. The old pool hall, heated outdoor pool and on Saturdays they would put on SLIDE SHOWS the older people took----great place
The "old buick" made it up there decades ago (probably it's 20th trip), and I'm sure someone did it in a model T ; but you have to pass a checklist and drive a 50-60 thousand dollar jeep to make it today..... smh...
I've done neck trip several times by myself first time we back in 1980 the roses a lot worse than they are now pretty easy-going last time I did it was an oh 14
How did a jeep with 40" tires get to go on a jeep jamboree event when they state that 37" is the largest you can have without being refused with no refund? Otherwise great video.
+TeraFlexSuspensions hahaha yeah inability! Awesome looking jeep. When I save up the money I will be getting my long arm kit from you guys. I've seen some awesome rides and most that I see on the trails make things look like no problem have had Teraflex suspensions on them. Great vid.
I'm from Montrose. most natives pronounce it "oooh- ray ", in respect to the chief. it is told, $1million dollars in gold dust was mixed into the road tar. if you wanted an expert trail, take county road 14a past the mary lode mine. next time, find a real local guide. peace
Beautifully filmed and narrated Brooke. Great to see an off road company making educational videos that are a joy to watch. Thanks!

Love to know how this are compares to Black Hills SD as far as scenic and historic value on the trails.
Excellent video!
Really good video, i enjoyed it

I've been over Black Bear pass into Telluride 10 times.....in a completely stock 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.
back in the day we taped flares on the jeep and drove down into town . maybe 50 jeeps !!
I remember seeing that around Christmas time. My grandparents had a cabin right across from the old hotel......great times there. The old pool hall, heated outdoor pool and on Saturdays they would put on SLIDE SHOWS the older people took----great place
Great video have been on the pass in Ouray lived in that area all my life very nice looking lady with fantastic red hair
10:22 for those of us that don't need a history lesson. :)
I would love to do this!
How close is this to your office? I’m thinking about going to do these trails in September and kind of want to swing by the office
It's about 6 hours from us here in Utah. Let us know and you can swing by any time. 801-713-3314
i have done poughkeepsie gulch in a stock tacoma with zero issues.
None of the tires look aired down.
That's what it looks like.

Brooke's got 'tude! Dunno know if it's aptitude or attitude. Total doll!
thank you, Thats totally her, she is really fun to "work" with we have serious fun.
Dennis
ya done well! Not only with Brooke, but with some really great products
We climbed the wall at Poughkeepsie in a stock Land Rover LR3. Just need to air down and take it slow. Locking rear diff helps too. 😎👍
Way Nice!
Ii
that white jeep got 4.5 inch lift and 37s on it?
How did a jeep with 40" tires get to go on a jeep jamboree event when they state that 37" is the largest you can have without being refused with no refund? Otherwise great video.
Thanks much, Vendors are allowed larger tires due to our inability to drive.
Dennis

Depends who you are and who you know just like everything else in life.
I feel like some of those guys didnt air down their tires. They should of def made it over some of those obstacles without being strapped.
That woman! What a woman!
what makes it surreal?
Welcome to colorful Colorado. Where seeing all 4 seasons in a single few hour trail ride is not uncommon.
The million dollar highway is called the million dollar highway because every mile cost a million dollars to cut it through the rock.
This town is name after my great great grandfather chief Ouray of the ute tribe now I'm the new chief
its funny hearing some people try and pronounce native American names... im from upstate ny. everything is named after "Indians" lol :)
dope mustache
I’d end up with an ulcer! Way to go everyone just not my thing
I’d rather ride a good mule there any day.

Only Jeep can do something like this because they have the biggest community between 4x4 brands around the world. Jeep there is only one!!
Ok
Yeah, did these trails in my stock grand Cherokee.... Weak ass drivers
Why your a manly man, lose the grocery getter and get a wrangler son! 😃
There weren't Indians in Colorado. They were Native Americans. Ok, Christopher Columbus?
can't even watch a jeep show with political correctness
The Ute Nation should extract a fee from every one of the Jeep drivers. Stolen Land
John D. Settle down and enjoy the video.
The mining junk are not relics its trash
LAMEST EVER!
