Lovely artwork, and important education on one of our special Aussie animals. There’s nothing quite like seeing a platypus in the wild- they are quite secretive and private! Usually you hear a distinctive ‘plop’ sound along a riverbank, as they return to the water after a hunting expedition. Then a bit of silty water as they dig around with their bills. Often that’s all you see of them, but sometimes a flash of their blunt tails. Very happy-making! It’s not surprising there aren’t current statistics about the damage done to platypus numbers, the fires will take months to put out properly, and efforts centre necessarily on improving access and assistance to affected areas. The scale and areas here are often tricky to imagine for the rest of the world! Any donations will be carefully used to improve habitats, I’m sure, but details of how will only emerge over coming years (not days). Every little bit helps! Thankyou, from Australia.

I'm heartbroken too. Given how important to me conservation is, I'd still love to keep creating education videos if people still want to see them, it's just so difficult to organize and run such a large group (of totally awesome and amazing people).

Sad to hear that the AAC has to come to an end, but I'm glad you were all able to do so much in the two years that it's run. I would personally love to see more animal videos in a similar vein as these have been - your love of animals really shines and they're so educational without ever approaching boring. Obviously, though, no pressure, focus on what you want to for as long as you want to. No complaints here about the similar colour palette! It's beautiful. 💕 I was so excited to see an upload from you and I hope you enjoyed painting this piece as much as I'm sure we all enjoyed seeing it.
Sad to see the AAC finish, I always love not only watching you paint the animals but REALLY loved learning about them too, if you can continue to do the animal paintings in this way that would be awesome. Of course love watching you paint anything.
I am sad to see a group as positive as the AAC close. I relish my AAC artworks and they have pride of place in my studio! I'm so sad the AAC is going away! It was so cool to see the different paintings and to know that money was being raised for wildlife. But, I understand that life is challenging, and if you can't do, you have to be honest with yourself and end it on a good note. I love the content that you produce regardless, and it's one of the first places I turn to when I'm debating adding something to my watercolor resources. Sorry that you are dealing with challenges right now, and I hope things take a turn for the better and smooth out soon.
