Denise, I am sorry for all of your losses! Words won't do much but keep painting and self healing. I healed myself by painting with the colors I was attracted too! I also did lots of self healing daily..reiki!
Its so nice to hear you are in good company (human and equine) and that this gives you warmth, strength and support. How lucky to have a pony to go with you on walks! I wish you lots of peace and quiet to continue healing and recovering. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures in Nevada.

Hello Denise! I’m so happy to see you here again❤ Your surroundings are now much like mine (minus 2000 feet☺️) We lived in the PNW for a time and I found it suffocating. Too many clouds, too much water, too much humidity and too much green. Clearly, I’m a Colorado native and leaving my high plains desert was hurting my soul. Seeing you in the beautiful Southwest made my heart smile. I know no climate is perfect for everyone, but I sincerely hope you are able to truly heal and find time to grow in your beautiful art. Hullo Denise, I wish you health and healing for the loss of Cricket. I am so grateful for your friends and their support for you in this turbulent time of your life. The desert can be a healing place for those accepting of it. I spent some time with my relatives in Arizona along The Grand Canyon reservation. I was recovering from the mumps and spent a lot of time in darkened rooms. I remember getting out to watch my Aunt paint the local animals and rim locations of the canyon. This was before I ever picked up a brush myself! There were times when she would talk constantly and yet other times she would sit silently for hours involved in the painting she was creating. I am truly glad that you are doing well and have found a place where you can heal and become yourself again. I am truly grateful that I have so many examples of your art around me in my home, thank you for your generosity and guidance when I was struggling back to working with paint and paper again! I am hopeful that you will find a way to make a living with Patreon as well as TH-cam, with your classes on SkillShare and perhaps other venues unexplored. Please take care and thank you for sharing this update with us out here. The space that is TH-cam is not the same without you and your Living Color presence.
I'm sorry you lost your Dad and especially your beloved Cricket. I lost my sweet Bitsy last year, and I feel as if I'll never recover. I'm happy that you have such dear friends who can help you. I know of Nevada's beautiful landscapes, and I hope you find peace there. Your horse frens are a treasure and something I know you love. Pace yourself, and I'll be praying for more "feel good" days for you! Those of us with fibro and CFS know how hard pacing yourself can be on your body and mind, but don't let it get you down.
We are NW Washington residents from birth but we love to visit Nevada. It is a diverse state geographically and we have discovered ghost towns, lush valleys and canyons, snow covered mountains, brilliant sunsets and very kind people. Best of luck in your new habitat.

Aw thank you! I crocheted a few little things about a decade ago, but this past year I made my first wearables, and I'm hooked! It’s so nice to hear that you have found a safe harbor with your wonderful friends in Nevada❤ I’m very sorry that you lost your fur baby but the four equine companions you now have look like wonderful stand-ins. I’m struggling with health issues too so my heart goes out to you. The experience has also led me to become more spiritual.
I moved to rural Arizona after my sister passed 15 months after my mom passed. I don't regret my decision. My extended family and church group here became a huge support system I needed to grieve and the quiet beauty and peace gives me time and pace to do things as I need to do them. I love the life I built here. My siblings in Central Texas are still just a long day's drive away (I visit them a few times a year.)

Welcome to Nevada. I’ve lived here my entire life (in Reno & Vegas). Personally, I’ve never loved it here - I’ve always felt trapped in this dry, inhospitable landscape. But there are times where I see its beauty.

I dont know yet what it means, but I was shocked to have been at my exhusband's bedside when he died (prematurely) last year at georgetown medical center bc our son was born there 24 years earlier. He didn't live in DC, but the MD hospital transferred him there due to his critical condition. I can't believe the three of us (me, EH, son) were together there when my son came into the world, and the three of us were together there when my EH left this world. I'm sorry about your dad, as well. I'm wishing you much happiness and peace in NV. ❤
i totally get how you feel, especially with the weather and landscape change. I'm from florida but am looking to move to nevada to be with my partner of 4 years. ive visited plenty of times but the weather always gives me surprises and experiences ive never had to deal with before 😂 but i hope the change will only benefit you and you'll find a lot of growth moving forward

I am very glad to see you doing better. I truly hope that you can enjoy your life from now on and live a life without stress. Similar, the past years, especially the last year has been quite harsh, and my health has been quite bad. The has been one issues after the other. I don't think that I have been able to rest the past 6 months. In moments like this, I am reminded of the line "It Can't Rain All the Time" from the movie "The Crow", there has to be better days ahead. One has to be a bit delulu as the young people say. There are still thing to be grateful for. Sometimes it's hard to appreciate a thing when life has given you a speed run in character development.
