Yes! Note that it wasn't technical difficulties because the sound was fine except for that part. It was audio difficulties, as in the NQC board had difficulties with the audio coming out of Kirk's mouth. The official VHS video that came out later just shows Kirk getting the award and saying "thank you very much." It also excludes Michael Booth's comment afterward.
@@mccrayyork6147 It was aired 2 days later. They were probably very busy trying to edit 6 hours worth of concerts every day while also recording the next day's concert. So, they made the decision to mute Kirk's speech for the first airing.
