This gives the vibe that this was pushed out for the Christmas kits gifts and likely to be found on the clearance rack by Easter. I can see the ready to go cast on being useful for someone trying to learn on their own when they don't have a knitter on hand to help teach casting on in the first place. Size 13 needles are suggested for gage and I assume the premade loops, sold separately, can at times be too cumbersome for beginners to learn with. This is definitely for a niche market, but with restrictions on useable needle sizes, and how limited the casting on length can be I don't feel like this will be a long term product. I hope it helps those who need it, but I really wish Lion would focus their energies on expanding their recycled fiber yarn lines or some of their other awesome products.
I feel that casting on and the knit stitch are the easiest parts of knitting, and if you aren't willing to learn those two things you might as well not bother with the craft at all.
What do we do about the line of white stitching? Will the whole thing fall apart if we try to pull it out as it might be visible on the ends of a scarf or when hiding the loopy end.
Great idea for any who intimidated by learning how to cast on first. A beginner can get comfortable with learning a basic knitting stitch and handling the needles and feel more confident, then learn the cast on techniques. 😊
I agree but I would put the side with the loopy yarn on the inside (if you are making a hat or cowl). Not sure what to do if making a scarf especially since the ends of a scarf tend to be visible.
Thanks for sharing this product! I guess seaming with the loopy end is a bit annoying? Lol I would probably trim the loopy strand a bit shorter before weaving it in. 😊 Thanks again.
I’ve seen this yarn for sale and wondered how to use it. I know casting on is a challenge to learn , but it’s part of the knitting process. It feels like the brand is enabling a poor learning process. Thanks for showing this product. Maybe it will encourage people to learn to knit, but I’d rather see a video showing all the casting on variations.
I’m sorry but, to be honest, this product makes me cringe! Please just focus on creating high-quality, affordable natural fibre yarns. That’s what the knitting world needs more of! I’m so tired of having to drive for over an hour each way just to buy quality wool yarn.
Lion Brand, I love you so much, but this? No. Just, no. If someone can learn the knit stitch they can learn a simple cast on. This product detracts from learning how to knit properly. It’s a crutch. I could not, would not recommend anyone buy this.
Like so many things in life these days the Yarn firms are consistently looking for ways to “make life simple” be that this yarn, 5 row granny squares with the yarn changing colour for each row - err tension folks, or the yarn called O’DO (I think) which doesn’t knot. Its seems Gen X can’t do anything unless it’s supposedly made simple for them.
You seem to be very judgmental. Try getting out of your judgy zone and expand your mind!!! Try watching animal videos instead of Trump/MAGA angertainment!! Be a human for once in your life!!!
Gimmicky….either people want to learn to knit or they don’t….focus on making good tutorials to cast on ….teach a man to fish and he will never go hungry….
Hey. Relax. This is a good way for people to get comfortable with knitting to see if it's for them and even start to build a passion. Just because they don't learn something straight away, doesn't mean they never will. They'll come back to it when they're more confident with yarn. Like it or not, this teaches people how to knit.
You know what? You must lead a very empty life!!! I've been crocheting for 20 years. I've knitted a little bit because I have problems casting on. And my knitting looks a bit wonky. I'm definitely buying this because this solves the hassle of casting on and gets to the fun of knitting!!! You should try expanding your mind rather than to be a hater!!! GET SOME THERAPY!!!
You Tube must've deleted my comment. With that being said, I've been crocheting for 20 years and knitting for about the same time. I've had problems casting on which make my knitting look wonky. I'm buying this because at least it helps me get a start to knitting. Stop being a hater and get some therapy. Expand your mind for a change!!!
You have evidently never tried to teach someone to knit. Casting on is only one row, by the time someone is ready to cast off and start again they have forgotten how.

Depends on what cast on you use. What is your favorite?
Good point. Some are trickier than others. But the knitted cast on is super easy, and I like long tail and provisional too.
@@TheOriginalKallendanot at all. The knitted cast on just doesn't work for me.
Casting on is complicated for the absolute beginner.
@@crystald3655 slip knots are hard to teach too

Cast on is the easiest part of hand knitting
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Could Insta-Knit be used for Tunisian crochet as well?
The loopy end did not just “blend right in”.

Wow hopefully we get some new knitters!😊
I cast on using a crochet hook and it works a treat.
Size 13 needles??? I’m afraid I would feel like I was knitting with broomsticks!
Large needles are fantastic for absolute beginners working their very first project. As the Large stitches are much easier to see.
If you can knit, you can cast on using the knit cast on method.
That's actually the hardest one for me. I can not get it right.
I think I'd rather take the time to learn it the right way. Sorry. I see this ending up like the loopy yarn...in a bin at an Ollie's somewhere.
That’s it 7:22 the rest is dead air

Not at all. This can help the absolute beginner get started on their very first project without them getting frustrated and giving up.
Clearance this out now. Actual crafters can cut off or frog the loops and use the yarn.
@@KYERRN "actual crafters" ? Really?
I'm with a lot of the other commenters this is ridiculous. I learned to knit when I was 13 it's not hard. This is a gimmick..
It's hard for some to cast on. This can really help the absolute beginner get started.
@@crystald3655 that still doesn't help them learn how to cast on.

Truly; the cast-on is no biggy. This is not good. 60 yrs yarn crafter.
After watching this video, I now want to try my hand at knitting. But I won’t buy this yarn…I’ll just watch another video on how to cast on. Thanks!
Got a lot of veterans throwing shade here. It's like BMX riders knocking pre-schoolers on training wheels. Let them be beginners and go knit.

Glad you're experienced in life some aren't and need a little help. If you don't like the product then don't buy it.
It must be really magic if it can precict when you are ready to cast on front or sleeves and loop itself up...
You know it can't. This is for the absolute beginner who isn't knitting more than dish cloths, and the like.

Yes left or right matters
Left or right handed? No, it does not matter for knitting.
As a absolute beginner it doesn't really matter honestly.
