  • Do you ever feel like your mind is running a marathon, constantly filled with thoughts, worries, and what-ifs? If so, you're not alone. In this video, I dive deep into the concept of overthinking and how it impacts our daily lives.
I explore what overthinking really is and the function of our mind in this process. Our minds are incredibly powerful tools, but sometimes they can become like a vacuum bag that's too full-clogged with too much thinking and unable to function efficiently.
Have you ever considered that you don't have to identify with every thought that crosses your mind? Imagine having the ability to observe your thoughts without getting tangled up in them. What if you didn't have to pay attention to every single worry or doubt?
In this video, I discuss practical strategies for not identifying with the mind and how you can find another capacity within yourself to navigate life more smoothly.
    Here's what you'll learn:
The nature of overthinking and why our minds get so busy
How to understand the function of your mind without being overwhelmed by it
How to detach from incessant thoughts and identifying with your mind
A powerful metaphor involving a full vacuum bag that will change how you view your mental clutter
The deeper intelligence within you from which to navigate life
Overthinking doesn't have to be a constant companion. By understanding the mind and shifting your perspective, you can start to experience a calmer, more focused mind.
Watch the video and take the first step towards freeing yourself from the grip of an overactive mind.

Thanks Lindsey, love the hoover analogy! 😂 So true. I've been quite amused watching my brain overthinking today...we have new neighbours and my brain is busy speculating like mad about what they are going to be like, I decided to go knock on their door today to say hello and put my speculation to rest and all morning my brain was running scenarios of what might happen when I go over there, what I might say, what they might say, how it might go... then I went over there, knocked on the door and there was no reply... what a waste of energy my brain innocently expended doing all that overthinking. I know that I'll meet them at some point and there is no hurry... I think modern life doesn't help with things like whatsapp groups where you can see all the neighbours chatting and half of them have already met and you start to feel worried that everyone thinks you are being rude or anti-social and off goes the brain worrying about that... but I'm able to watch it happening and not pay it too much attention now. I think before I chatted to you, I would have believed all that rubbish my brain is predicting and got super anxious about the situation, but now it's just a minor unsettled feeling that is telling me I am believing those stories my brain is making up and I know it will resolve itself eventually and I really don't need to pay much attention to the overanalysing of it, that's just what my brain likes to do!

Thanks so much for watching the video Anne and for taking the time to comment. The situation you describe is a perfect example of overthinking, thank you for sharing it! It's great to hear that you are able now to catch the stories your mind is telling you. This is one of the things I love to see most in my clients as a result of the coaching process. It is such a powerful skill and knowledge to have. I love also that you saw how much time and energy was innocently wasted on the overthinking. I feel the more we see this, the easier it becomes to turn our attention away from the mind, and back into reality. Thanks again Anne.
