I would totally add a light by the pumps to increase duplicant work speed. Just automate it with a buffer in between the duplicant motion sensor. And have you considered adding automation to lock duplicant access when the pressure gets high enough that you don't need a dupe working there for a while?
Good point, yea I've tried a few setups with locking dupes. Ended-up building this in survival right next to main living area and there's always someone available to make some bottles.
@@greezyhammer764 Have you also seen Brothgar's video on puft ranching? In which he takes the polluted oxygen offgassing one step further. I've been working on improving your design and came up with more of a funnel leading into the deodorizers and gas pumps, added some automation to restrict access if the pressure's high for long enough and there's no dupe inside. Also the aforementioned light and even went as far as to add carpet tiles on the sides of the pitcher pump to reduce movement speed. And did you know manual airlocks are even slower still? Next is trying to find the right dimensions to add a puft ranch. Thanks a great deal for inspiring this!
@@Mysterious_Old_Geek Definitely seen Brothgar's work, lots of great ideas. I never liked the pumps to separate out the polluted oxygen. So made this: imgur.com/gallery/9ULQyEb Water on top of Deodorizers. Above water layer, nothing but clean oxygen. Can just use doors to release it into base, no pumps needed. Caveat: must always have polluted oxygen.
@@greezyhammer764 I love it for the most part. It's a bit unclear to me how the bypass pumps in the corners by the planters operate without solid tiles next to the vent, it seems as though they could pull from both your low and high pressure area. Eh... guess that works out too. Ceiling lights are more power effecient and emit less heat than the sun lamps, so that's something to keep in mind. Other than that I'm having a very hard time to come up with anything that improves on the design.
@@Mysterious_Old_Geek Dripping liquid bead will trade place (diagonally) only with gas that is below the solid tile. So in this case, it doesn't affect high pressure gas where the ladders are.
Great for industrial clay, but It seems a fair bit of dup labor time currently gets wasted. I would think the dup labor may be tweaked to be quite a bit more efficient if you used bottle emptiers rather than reed fiber to initiate the bottling task. That way you may get the dup to create larger bottles at a time with 200+ kg rather than just the amount they need to water the plant. And if you only let them perform the bottling task when the pool is deep enough then they can be off doing other stuff while the pool fills up. Since a dup will try to deliver to multiple emptiers at a time when they are next to each other, if there are 4 bottle emptiers next to each other, the dup would probably try to deliver to all of them and create 800 kg bottles at a time. That should greatly reduce dup time.
Tested bottle emptiers vs reeds. Dupe delivers 200KG to emptier, 480KG to reed farm tile. Also, made this: imgur.com/gallery/9ULQyEb Water on top of Deodorizers. Above water layer, nothing but clean oxygen. Can just use doors to release it into base, no pumps needed. Caveat: must always have polluted oxygen below.
very cool, I personally setup a box with rows of one tile high airflow tiles, feed all the pools of polluted water to it, and build puft ranch and ceramic factory next to it, a bit slower than bottle system but no dupe labor required, and very little pumping :)
Very nice setup, i wouldnt use it cos i like dupeless systems as much as possible. I did make slower system without dupes or at least with no dupes manually pumping the pol. water. Again tho, a very neat and interesting design. I suggest you try playing around with offgassing p. dirt and slime on conveyor rails too :)
good to know I think somewhat like the pros! I built something similar on my own, but with a mixture of naturally offgassing PW tank, and...500+ morbs. Not as efficient as yours, but doesn't require dupe labor at least
I made something similar a while ago to make a mushroom farm. I used bottle emptiers instead. if you want to see it go to brothgar's discord and search for "I implemented it in a real game"
as for me i made a mod with a 1000 kg ceramic recipe. i don't have SO MUCH time to play ONI on x1 speed with a gazillion of logic circuits. tho, it's prob good for an unmodded GP
Hi, Firstly really love your content. I am using the 476542version with Spaced out DLC. the by pass pump is somehow not working for me. Just wondering have you tried the DLC and is the bypass pump still working for you?

How do you not have so many subs man ....
Amazing vids.
Thanks! Working on it.
So funny to see these poor duplicants trying to irrigate those cursed thimble reeds. Ooops, the door is closed again. Damn it. 😄

just made this one! another awesome build xD
Right on! I'm getting back into it myself after a long break.
awesome to hear! i’m sure i can speak for everyone when i say we’re looking forward to more of the factory 😁
Dude , your stuff are marvelous ! keep the good work ! You inspire my bases !
Thank you, I'll keep at it!

Can off gas bottles even faster by putting a very thin layer of water for them to sit in. Just grams
Definitely.

That's a lot of morbs :D How's the FPS?
To get bottles of PH2O is much easier to fill up liquid reservoirs then decontruct them.
Definitely works too! In this case I just wanted something to let it run and forget.

but what about using morbs?
3 words. FPS

Yep, bypass pump definitely works in Spaced Out! Check out the Factory series where I've set-up a passive offgasser in survival.
