- Doug Kershaw performs "Cajun Baby" live at the Farm Aid concert in Austin, Texas on July 4, 1986. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I saw him once years ago I believe it was 1990 or 91 playing at the Lancaster California fair, just a small side show, I loved the music, but I felt so bad for him playing at such a small venue, and there was only about 50 people there watching, for just the price of admission to the fair you could see him, I went there only to see him.😢
I still have his original album, the one Johnny Cash has a written forward on.

Thanks for this post! I think this is the second best rendition of "Cajun Baby" I've ever heard (Mr. Kershaw's duet with Hank Williams, Jr. being the best). Truthfully, though, it'd be hard to botch this song. Doug Kershaw and Charlie Daniels ought to team up while they're still living (both are now 82).

Max Schwenssen on guitar and Marty Valdabene from Seattle Wa. Max was my friend and band mate for man years until he passed in 2007. He was a great musician and friend.
