really nice edges, though I really think you can be quite more efficient on centers. For instance, when doing your second bar, try to use 1 B move to take in a back center edge instead of 4 extra moves for 2 in front, or some of the bad cases can be solved more efficiently. I'm nothing amazing at 5x5 but if you want to see what I mean let's talk about some specifics sometime
hey chris, 3x3 f2l case no rotation, fast alg... this is the beginner second layer builder but better! alg:F',R,U,R'U',R',F,R. Just reverse it if you didnt get the desc of the case
12:10 couldn’t you do something similar to that one 4x4 case? So pair the yellow green edges, replace it with a random unsolved edge, then do Uw2 and Dw2, which will pair up pink and yellow, then replace that with the last edge. Isn’t that the most efficient?
Do the magnets really help during the 3x3 stage? When I'm solving the 3x3, the middle slices move and gets annoying lol. Btw, great Yau videos. Been watching whenever they're posted :D
From 6x6 to 9x9, I can solve centers, edges and cross with Yau about equally fast, if not faster than centers and edges without cross using reduction. Probably due to the fact that I used Yau from the start of 5x5, and I'm bad at looking ahead edges on the bigger cubes while I have a lot of experience pairing 3 cross edges and accommodating a 3/4 cross on my left when solving centers.
2012 chris: 2x2
2015 chris: 3x3
2018 chris: 5x5
Trexrush 2019 chris plz do 6x6
Trexrush lol so true
The Physicist Cuber wait until 2012.
2021*
Tixta II lol
Ok, this is 2 years too late but this is the best yau 5 example video I have come across by far!!!
I'm currently average between 2:10 and 2:25 , hope this video will help me break my sub 2 barrier
Nice finally got some example solves....
excited for more
Nice video Crhis! I have been looking for one of these for a while because I've seen Mats use it!
Hey Chris, I ordered one of Sarah's custom shirts, watch out for me at gateway!

Sure! Centers are absolutely my worst part of 5x5. Let's chat sometime.
4:13
last 2 edges =last 2 centers 😂
Ajit Kumar a good one

Vikas Javed I think magnets have been one of the largest improvements in 5x5. I don't even know why. But when I first tried a magnetic 5x5 I loved it.
cyotheking thanks for the reply ! And got it :) I might opt in for the magnetized version. Solving 5x5 has always been my favorite!
Chris please make some proper tutorials for improving in 5x5 i am too getting into 5x5 like many other people now that might help
How do you be sub 15 on 3x3 chris? I average around mid 15. I don't know full OLL yet. what should i do to get faster?
Whhaat?!!! You have 2 cubicle wushuang m's😱😱😱
Chris, what’s your opinion on lubicle black? And is it better than Traxxas 30k?
Reduction is the optimal 5x5 method
2:19 Don't you mean, "took weilong to find"😂
Not sure about that, but it definitely took yulong to think of that joke😁
Do 2x2 example solves please
Great, I really admire Yau5, but I am better at redux
I am a big fan of u
Nice vid and what is your favourite event
dumb cuber 5x5 :)
cyotheking Who would have guessed
cyotheking please do a qna
1:31 Rw U2 Rw2' F Rw
Kevin Min love it!! Thank you :)
cool video! ( i don't do 5x5 )
Woah, just got into bigger cubes huh?
why am i watching this, i dont even have a 5x5
Thanks
Awesome
nice
Hi chris
1:41 i think that it was easier to du r U' r' and insert
Still not sub me. Lol. For the first solve, last white bar, do m u m' or something like that
Brandon Nunez I could see that too. I normally use that on L4C so I'm not sure why I didn't here.
Second
Edit: no i'm third :'(
Charlie Harrison actually fourth
actually iy
Lol last solve
Do you think Yau is better than Redux?
Ew why do you have pink lol

Hey cyotheking
“Pin me”!
First
Do you use this for 6x6 and 7x7?
I don't. I think it is objectively worse after 5x5.
