Do you know if it's possible for me to make my phone read artist and title everytime I change a song through Spotify? I can make AutoNotification say them through the %anticker, but I can't seem to figure out how to trigger AutoNotification to realize everytime a song changes.

What I'm trying to figure out is the following. I want my phone's media volume to go down to zero when I am in a chrome incognito window, but only if my blue tooth head set is not connected to my phone. Regular chrome windows should have sound. And if my head set is connected I should hear sound. Is there a list of functions and their possible values. I was trying to use BLUE and the value I wasn't sure what to use
+Timothy Carey autonotification will detect the incognito mode. Check the state context..fill from existing. Add by connected context to control your headset behaviour. You can do all this with tasker and autonotification. You won't need a bt plugin.
I need a tutorial for how to make it so I can reply to a notification directly from the notification for messaging apps . . . .

+Ska talitico you want to dismiss the old one? You can assign the same ID to and notification will be replaced.
It's really great the way you explained such specific details. I just wanted to ask; is it possible to get notifications (alerts) from tasker app when specific keywords I've already defined, are included in texts sent by members of telegram supergroups ?
Is it worth working on, or is it impossible to be done?
You can use REGEX filter to monitor for title/notification fields and use matching patters to make your trigger respond. Alternatively, you can intercept each message and use Task's IF conditions to replicate the same behavior

Would like some help if you don't mind.
I either missed it watching while working, or it isn't covered because it cant be done.
I have a task to grab the days weather. At the end of the task, I have auto-notification creating a permanent notification with the text as %WEATHER %WEATHER2.
I want to add a button to the notification for Update. Of course, update would run the task, and update the notification.
I have created a new task for this, using an ID, but it isn't working like I expect it too. Some times I get an error that the ID is wrong (or something else is wrong), and other times the task runs, but I can not get an update.
Would you throw some pointers/suggestions/instructions to me please?

... I think what I need is for the update button to run the task again, since the notification is at the end of that task. But unsure how to make a button in AN run a task. And probably wouldn't need a ID in the task related notification.

Hey, hey.. look at that. I setup a new task to run the task again, but the filter wasn't filtering like I thought. I thought it was filtering the title, but instead it was filtering the message. I have since removed the filter, since this will be the only notification with an "update" button, and it runs like I want it too. Thanks for your insight.
Is there a way to use a wildcard when intercepting a notification? Instead of intercepting a notification that equals "Jack" I need to intercept one which contains "Jack".
+Bobby Childs autonotification plugin supports regex so for Jack it would be *.Jack*.

I thought this was more of a feature list than a tutorial. I thought there was a lack of examples which a tutorial implies there be at least one for every feature you talked about.
it's like 25min just to talk about the functions. it would be another that much to dwell even deeper.
That could be a great video to add.

Thank you for the great tutorial. I have one question: Is it possible to know the number of pending notifications of a certain app? I've tried with auto notification query, and %antext(#) or ankey(#) but it doesn't seems to work. Any ideas?
I would have to double check on this but, AN query offers a lot of local variable arrays, ie. %antexts() which would presumably store each notification text in a separate variable %antexts1, %antexts2, %antexts3, etc, this should be an easy way to find out how many pending notifications there are, other solution would be an index profile that stores and removes the count each time a notification appears.
Yeah, the second method works and that's what I've utilized so far but I want tasker to check the number of pending notifications each time I receive or delete one.
I will try with the AN query and a variable which increase by 1 for each antexts which is not null. Seems ok to you?

Have you checked "intercept a" this comes with more variables... Could be there. Otherwise you will need an array for each app type to count them as they come and get dismissed

I am having trouble using ACTION - Actions. I have a notification that comes in where I have to hit first click "Accept" and then click "Confirm" (Confirm replaces Accept). It should be action item 1, but it doesn't work. When I use query to find out the %anbutton1action(), i get a huge string of characters and numbers. I'm trying to use this with DUO Mobile app for two-factor authentication. Please help
I think the moment you click Confirm, you would have to have another AN query that would ready the content of the message again as I dont think that AN is able to tell that your notification buttons has changed.
Well I got it to work by first doing a query and getting all fields, then flashing %anbutton1action() (just so i know it's working), and then an action using %anbutton1action(). The problem is, it only works when I've unlocked the phone first. I'm still having trouble getting it to work when the phone is still locked. Any ideas?
strange. do you have notifications displayed through the lockscreen or is it set to hide content of messages when locked. I'm not sure why this would only work with unlocked screen

I'm new to tasker and am currently trying to get a special sound to play when the word (Cosmic) appears on my phone.
The alerts are coming from an app called HAL, so I wanted to use tasker and auto notification to play a special sound when the app sends me a notification with that word in it. Could you explain to be step by step how I could do that? I have been having a lot of trouble finding any help for it
If the HAL app issues notification, Tasker can look at the current notifications and respond to that. AN plugin let's you filter these by title and text - and you can set the regex filter for a specific word - in this case .*cosmic*. That would be your event trigger. Then link this to a task that plays media file form your phone and you are sorted

for example someone had told me this, but did not know how to get the sound to play, but this is how they listed it out - I was hoping you could list it out in this format so I can easily follow it.
"1. Save an mp3 of the alert in a folder.
2. In tasker, go to Task tab > tap plus button to create a new task > tap plus again to add a new action > search for Media Play and tap to add it
3. Tap the magnifying glass icon, find and select your mp3
4. Go back > tap and hold the task > tap the pencil icon to rename it > rename it to your special word
5. Save it then tap the tick icon to save changes.
6. Now just say "Ok google, run [special word] in tasker" (where [special word] is what you renamed the task to) and it will run the task."
Take a look at WhatsApp tasker profile I made it basically follows the same principle where tasker looks for WhatsApp notifications extracts texts and does translation. Replace the elements with your app and text regex and use media play action instead of the translate API in the example

Is there a way to add an icon/notification only to the taskbar but not have it show in the dropdown list from the notifications?
+crawfells thank you. not at the moment but you could kill the notification on expand, I seen variable somewhere that could check for the status of the notification bar. I'm not near the pc to Google it.

No wlasnie o to chodzi ze nie bardzo mam czas. niestety mimo ze doceniam polskich fanow taskera, sa oni liczeni w tuzinach. Nieststy auto translate w YT nie jest jakies genialne :( Staram sie do wiekszosci tych video robic strone internetowa z opisami wiec moze bedzie latwiej z textem. Linki na ekrani lub w opisie (nie wszystkie maja )
