Riviera 50 SMY - Whitsundays to Brisbane delivery run!

- Following on from the previous video where we explored the beautiful Whitsundays islands with the owners onboard, I’m now tasked with returning the boat to Riviera at Coomera as soon as possible. The boat is now officially sold (owner has a new 64 Riviera SMY coming!) and there is a deadline for it to be shipped out of Newcastle to its new owners in Perth. So it made sense to get going immediately, however the weather had different ideas. We delayed departure for 24 hours for the 25 knot SE’er to back off and I flew my crewman Greg in to assist. To complicate matters, halfway home we knew we had another 25 knot Sou’easter coming through and a large powerful cyclone swell from the coral sea to contend with crossing the Wide Bay Bar. This forced a couple of lay days behind Fraser Island - which of course isn’t a bad place to hang out! Hope you enjoy watching, and if you do, please click the subscribe and notification tabs - it’s totally free and just means you won’t miss any future videos - and there’s some good content coming! Cheers Peter

The boating culture in Australia seems so incredible. I had no idea until watching your videos. Cheers.
Really enjoy your videos. I live in Sweden and Australia is very special with all the details that you show (islands, passages, straights, inlets, creeks, beaches). I think that you have a good balance between showing the boats, the journey and the destinations, with a good detail on narrating and story telling. I enjoy the fishing trips, the preparations and the the filet cutting in the end. The hiking trips are also nice, as well as the culinary highlights, whether it is BBQ or galley action. Will definitely watch your channel, am subscribed.

Once again...Thankyou !!!!
Great watching as always … hello from Guernsey
Thanks for the ride!
Great videos Peter!
beautiful boat mate!
Nicely done once again. (Other half here)
Great vid . What do you think of the IPS ? Bit vulnerable to damage ?
Well yes they feel a little more vulnerable than traditional propulsion but everything in boats is a compromise, and the performance and maneuverability they offer is very impressive. 👍
@@ProfessionalBoatCare . I saw a 60 ft Riv on the hard a few months ago with the props removed . I think it found a sandbar .
@@RGF56 I hate it when the bottom jumps up and hits your boat.
@@snapper2784 Yeah or "Which side of that green marker do I go ? " , Thump !
What’s the fuel burn at 24kn? Cheers, enjoy the vids
About 200 litres. That’s her most economical 👍
@@ProfessionalBoatCareprobably reasonable for its size and speed. Some smaller fishing boats with twin outboards getting only slightly better economy.
How does it handle the bad weather? From your videos i think Nordhavn has top spot for handling rough, also should have the best range and economy, but it cant go as fast as Riviera or Fleming
