I've not yet gone past Ashton's opening and I know what you mean. I constantly change my voice when answering our phone. This is important for the safety of any baiter.
The problem is that Chappy uses the same lines in other videos such as “little boy” and “idiot” and just in general, the way she talks. It is very easy to be able to distinguish her voice if just having watched one prior video. She either needs to change the way she talks or have someone else make the phone calls

Scammers aren't getting smarter, they're getting more aware of you. You have to not be Trilogy Media when catching mules or scammers. Cover up Chappys voice. Try a different approach. Put some weight in the box. Be smart so they won't!

Scammers are adapting so the scambaiters have to as well. Perhaps putting a stack of newspaper or some old magazines to give it just enough weight to fool the scammers. Or better yet, a bunch of shredded paper so they'll get driven crazy digging through it trying to find the money.
exactly, they just revealed them self, they didn't even had to reveal they channel name to the scammers, i mean.. they should did it in more privately way. now they have to change all the characters, or using things to change their voices. Instead of yelling "Trilogy media" on every corner. there is so much scam baiters all around.. i bet that the scammers know the most famous figures in this industry. by that, i can assume that its just a "show" and not a police investigation. they just making a show and money. but they can't do anything to stop all the scammers. they will never shut them down forever, they will work everytime and everyday while new scammers will come to the business everyday too. its just a cat and mouse game. like in cybersecurity, hackers will exist forever. no matter what.. i don't think they can do something with the poor reality of scammers instead of making some money on content creation.
Chappy needs to dial it way back. I really think her aggressive over the top behavior is what initially tipped the scammer. She was also ignoring his request for tracking number which I’m sure caused him to become very suspicious. Play dumb and manipulate the shit out of them. You’ll get better results
You can comprehend someone building up a real disgust for these dirty people, that her attitude comes naturally? It's also a reason she does it like that, because these guys are overly aggressive and annoying and will talk to you as if you work for them, and are beneath them. Really disgusting people. In her role, she needs to be overly aggressive to avoid answering specific questions. If she was calm and relaxed like you want her to be, it would be too easy for them to press her about certain information regarding shipping. These guys have been doing this for a LONG time, pretty sure they know what they're doing. Understand everything happens for a reason.
When you rent car, always get a car with 5 doors and tinted rear windows so you can sit in back seat and not in front seat if you want to stake out a place. It’s also not very good to go to the address multiple times in case the target sits and stake out as well…
I think the scammers are just so desperate for money that even if they think it’s not real they have to take that chance just in case it is. They don’t have anything else to do, so they just roll the dice and hope it’s 7’s.
I think chappy is not very good at being undercover lol. She has an extremely distinct voice and acts very uniquely (the aggressive tone and insults) it would be easy to spot her voice in a second. She needs to be more undercover
You need to expand your team, hire more people so you can work together and visit multiple locations at once, and you can use their voices. You all have recognizable voices.
As much as I love hearing him speak, Vlad has extremly strong accent that the scammers would have to be stone cold deaf not to recognize his voice!! 😂😂
he knew something was up cause chappy was acting like a little kid on the call. No professional business will EVER treat their customers like that. He sensed something was up and noticed the light package and then remembered how chappy sounded like.

The weight probably got them searching for scambaiters on TH-cam, and Chappy's voice is SO unique and recognizable. Also, it is easy to install a ring at any doorbell, giving the installer access to the live feed.
I also think that part of the reason that they have there antenna up whenever you guys do this, is all the crazy stories about secretaries and the back talk when they ask for tracking number. A normal elderly victim would just quietly comply. So maybe I'm misunderstanding why not just quietly comply, put magazines in it to match the weight and then just lay the trap and wait.

I truly appreciate the details of the story. I wish this were JUST a story. Tell everyone you know to be wary of scams. They appear everywhere. Tell your young people and your old people. Educating the “non-tech savvy crowd” thoroughly is absolutely crucial to protecting them from these scammers. We underestimate how powerful and convincing the trick of editing the HTML is. I tried showing my mom how the refund process works by watching one of these videos and even as she was watching she just couldn’t understand how the money wasn’t in the bank account on the screen when it clearly said so on the screen. “But the money is there!” Only after further more detailed explanation did she finally “get it”. And she’s not stupid just from a different generation.
I think Chappys attitude gave it away, usually the victim must be so compliant and gentle, they don't suspect anything, but Chappy was calling him names and giving him shit!

Also if you've seen any videos of actual victims they don't talk to them like chappy. And people are obviously doing what the scammers are telling them to that's why there's so many people who have done this!

The reason you cant catch these guys is because they are contacting UPS using the tracking number you gave them and then telling them to deliver it at a different time of day so they can scope out if its a set up or not. These guys have been doing it a long time and know how to dodge you.
What makes me angry is that everyone is telling Art to stay hidden and yet he keeps going to the packages and getting back in the car, back and forth. Isn't it obvious that people will be watching? I don't get why you don't just park far away and just hold your camera on the spot? Those people know what you look like, they will be super careful. So don't leave the car even once!

I recently had a co worker get caught up in the amazon prime scam. I've binged sooo much of trilogy, kit boga, and scammer payback and helped her get the scammers off of her phone and computer and fortunately she didn't have any financial loss from the incident.
From someone who identifies romance scammers and the stolen photos they hide behind.. the scammers got access to the doorbell camera, they saw ash approaching and saw him take the photo…they “reverse searched” the screenshot from the doorbell photo… and bang ash comes up from trilogy media…U NEED A DISGUISE LADS WHEN APPROACHING MULES HOUSES❤

@@Princess.Shay8 Very true. In one of these videos, Ashton portrayed a courier who had intercepted a package full of cash and the scammer actually offered him $20,000 of it to send on the rest to him. He also offered him a job as a money mule. Ashton and Art really told him off at the end.
Of course they are motivated by greed!!! No one is disputing that fact. The point is how chappy went a little too agro!!! Don't get me wrong, these scammers are terrible people and should be held accountable but they are smart too. The point is sometimes being too aggressive, especially when you are trying to bait someone, is not always the best track. And why would they send an empty box? If mules have done this sort of thing before they would know the difference, at the very least. Sloppiness and underestimating the enemy can be costly. Never underestimate these wicked people. No matter how terrible they are, they are capable of learning too!
Chappy needs to change it up. Not many of the people that get caught have someone with so much sense answering for them..I think it’s smarter to play along and change it up constantly

If the scammers are using empty homes as mailing addresses I’d be surprised if an address is being used more than once or twice, just to avoid suspicion from the neighbors or any nosy people. All the scammer needs to do is to browse realtor sites with the help of a local mule. It might be a good idea to check the address out beforehand to see if this is the case.
@@TomGeek1980 That's interesting. There was an episode of the 1960s series Dragnet that was like that. Basically, someone would rent an apartment, never move in, get a bunch of unemployment checks there fraudulently, then move on to another apartment and do it again. Some scammers send their mules to short term rentals like Air B&B, get a bunch of packages, then move on to another, making them harder to catch unlike those using their personal address. The scammers are adapting their tactics so the scambaiters must do the same.

Art gets super excited on these stings that he makes mistakes. You have to think that the mule is there 1 hour before they show up scoping out the place. He didn’t go up to the box once but twice?!?!

I would also not go walking around and checking the box ..if they have a mule also watching the place beforehand they will see you guys walking around and know its a set up. IMO you need to be more discreet until the mule comes and picks it up.
I love Chappy's sass, but I agree with a lot of the commenters that the time for that sass is at the end, when the charade is already over, not while trying to bait them.

Do you have any idea how many scammers there are in India??? I'm sure they occasionally get a repeat operators, but I'm sure that's pretty rare. Those call centers have THOUSANDS of employees. They probably also, with the amount of money they rake in, figure it's worth the risk.
Ray and chappy are great. I honestly haven't checked out their channel(s) yet but I've watched all of their collabs with TM and they're my favorite videos.

They watch you guys go out that door twice. And there’s a guy across the way that’s watching out of his window. That’s part of the scam. The whole deal is they’re renting a place, and they have another place rented for a person to be in to watch that place.

Just an FYI for future. I sell vintage online and ship packages almost daily. USPS & UPS deliver each other's packages. Ex: the first leg may be UPS but the 2nd leg of delivery is USPS.
honestly once he knew the weight of the box (via the tracking) it's not difficult to get suspicious and google, plus it's already known the scammers talk to each other so there will be warnings and links etc to your sites..... You need to start being more creative with these, and do things differently each time..

Honestly, the way Chappy was explaining to Art how her conversation went sounded much more believable than her character that acts irate 24/7. I think being a firm and professional assistant or care taker is much more trustworthy for them to follow through without suspicion. When she becomes a crazy American, they immediately become suspicious. Art also sitting in the car with a laptop and camera, after Chappy asked them to stay out the way. They’re all becoming a little comfortable.

@@TomGeek1980 I think with the proper time and attention to organizing, maybe even recruiting some local volunteers that are viewers to stake out and stay in contact, use/rent multiple cars, even speak to local businesses to see what resources they have to offer. For example, we own a junk removal company. Imagine them staking out in a box truck, acting like movers, changing up the business logo on the side of the truck, and tshirts..Instead they get a Tesla. 2 big dudes with GoPros and videography cameras sitting couped up In a car for an hour 3 parking spots away from the hour. With no tint. I’m starting to think they’re playing us and staging this shit themselves, hiring an Indian actor to play “scammer”.

I believe the scammers are using vacant properties and they have a list they use so a different address every single day so every address is different so it’s not suspicious. Then in a week later the scammers will reuse address if it is still vacant and that’s how neighbors in those communities don’t get suspicious and scammers get a way with there money mule.

Chappy needs to dial it way back. I really think her aggressive over the top behavior is what initially tipped the scammer. She was also ignoring his request for tracking number which I’m sure caused him to become very suspicious. Play dumb and manipulate the shit out of them. You’ll get better results

You can comprehend someone building up a real disgust for these dirty people, that her attitude comes naturally? It's also a reason she does it like that, because these guys are overly aggressive and annoying and will talk to you as if you work for them, and are beneath them. Really disgusting people. In her role, she needs to be overly aggressive to avoid answering specific questions. If she was calm and relaxed like you want her to be, it would be too easy for them to press her about certain information regarding shipping. These guys have been doing this for a LONG time, pretty sure they know what they're doing. Understand everything happens for a reason.

When you rent car, always get a car with 5 doors and tinted rear windows so you can sit in back seat and not in front seat if you want to stake out a place. It’s also not very good to go to the address multiple times in case the target sits and stake out as well…

I think the scammers are just so desperate for money that even if they think it’s not real they have to take that chance just in case it is. They don’t have anything else to do, so they just roll the dice and hope it’s 7’s.
I think chappy is not very good at being undercover lol. She has an extremely distinct voice and acts very uniquely (the aggressive tone and insults) it would be easy to spot her voice in a second. She needs to be more undercover

The weight probably got them searching for scambaiters on TH-cam, and Chappy's voice is SO unique and recognizable. Also, it is easy to install a ring at any doorbell, giving the installer access to the live feed.
Yeah easy to install a ring or any other camera door bell, but it needs wifi to access it remotely
I also think that part of the reason that they have there antenna up whenever you guys do this, is all the crazy stories about secretaries and the back talk when they ask for tracking number. A normal elderly victim would just quietly comply. So maybe I'm misunderstanding why not just quietly comply, put magazines in it to match the weight and then just lay the trap and wait.

Educating the “non-tech savvy crowd” thoroughly is absolutely crucial to protecting them from these scammers. We underestimate how powerful and convincing the trick of editing the HTML is. I tried showing my mom how the refund process works by watching one of these videos and even as she was watching she just couldn’t understand how the money wasn’t in the bank account on the screen when it clearly said so on the screen. “But the money is there!” Only after further more detailed explanation did she finally “get it”. And she’s not stupid just from a different generation.

The reason you cant catch these guys is because they are contacting UPS using the tracking number you gave them and then telling them to deliver it at a different time of day so they can scope out if its a set up or not. These guys have been doing it a long time and know how to dodge you.
UPS tells you the weight of the package when you look at the tracking online you don't have to call them to figure that out.
Good point. Perhaps what scambaiters should do when they send an actual package is load it up with paper or something so it will appear real.
What makes me angry is that everyone is telling Art to stay hidden and yet he keeps going to the packages and getting back in the car, back and forth. Isn't it obvious that people will be watching? I don't get why you don't just park far away and just hold your camera on the spot? Those people know what you look like, they will be super careful. So don't leave the car even once!

I recently had a co worker get caught up in the amazon prime scam. I've binged sooo much of trilogy, kit boga, and scammer payback and helped her get the scammers off of her phone and computer and fortunately she didn't have any financial loss from the incident.

If the scammers are using empty homes as mailing addresses I’d be surprised if an address is being used more than once or twice, just to avoid suspicion from the neighbors or any nosy people. All the scammer needs to do is to browse realtor sites with the help of a local mule. It might be a good idea to check the address out beforehand to see if this is the case.
@@TomGeek1980 That's interesting. There was an episode of the 1960s series Dragnet that was like that. Basically, someone would rent an apartment, never move in, get a bunch of unemployment checks there fraudulently, then move on to another apartment and do it again.
Some scammers send their mules to short term rentals like Air B&B, get a bunch of packages, then move on to another, making them harder to catch unlike those using their personal address. The scammers are adapting their tactics so the scambaiters must do the same.

I would also not go walking around and checking the box ..if they have a mule also watching the place beforehand they will see you guys walking around and know its a set up. IMO you need to be more discreet until the mule comes and picks it up.

Usually when you look up the tracking number the weight of the package will be on there.

Do you have any idea how many scammers there are in India??? I'm sure they occasionally get a repeat operators, but I'm sure that's pretty rare. Those call centers have THOUSANDS of employees. They probably also, with the amount of money they rake in, figure it's worth the risk.

They watch you guys go out that door twice. And there’s a guy across the way that’s watching out of his window. That’s part of the scam. The whole deal is they’re renting a place, and they have another place rented for a person to be in to watch that place.

Just an FYI for future. I sell vintage online and ship packages almost daily. USPS & UPS deliver each other's packages. Ex: the first leg may be UPS but the 2nd leg of delivery is USPS.

Shows Ship From, Service level and weight. And if I may suggest…. A good pair of binoculars and some distance!! Have to go into undercover mode!! Thanks for the content!
Honestly, the way Chappy was explaining to Art how her conversation went sounded much more believable than her character that acts irate 24/7. I think being a firm and professional assistant or care taker is much more trustworthy for them to follow through without suspicion. When she becomes a crazy American, they immediately become suspicious.

For example, we own a junk removal company. Imagine them staking out in a box truck, acting like movers, changing up the business logo on the side of the truck, and tshirts..Instead they get a Tesla. 2 big dudes with GoPros and videography cameras sitting couped up In a car for an hour 3 parking spots away from the hour. With no tint. I’m starting to think they’re playing us and staging this shit themselves, hiring an Indian actor to play “scammer”.

Chappy needs to cover her voice now since scammers are watching this video right now and can identify her. These scammers are getting smarter
It is like a cat with a bell around their neck, eventually the cat will outsmart the bell and get their prey still. Unfortunately, this time the scammer was the cat.
@@johntrevy1 exactly unfortunate, I have a feeling he was able to identified Chappy voice and had red flags to know this was a set up
@@coffeelink943 I think it was mainly the parcel weight that gave them away. But they do need a major overhaul if they are to keep this up.
Just FYI, I use the UPS app to track my packages and UPS ALWAYS lists the weight of each package under the assigned tracking number!!
I believe the scammers are using vacant properties and they have a list they use so a different address every single day so every address is different so it’s not suspicious. Then in a week later the scammers will reuse address if it is still vacant and that’s how neighbors in those communities don’t get suspicious and scammers get a way with there money mule.
They likely have hidden cameras. As soon as a package comes, they are in and out in seconds. It's too fast, thus the neighbours never notice.
