I feel like I’m one of the few ppl, at least one of the few that’s vocal, that bought the series x solely because of its massive backwards compatibility. The exclusives I could take or leave. Sure there are some I’m going to play, 40k space marine 2, starfield. But i primarily looked at backwards compat as well as specs. The series x has better hardware and performance (barely). Idk. I really just want something that could play tons of games well, exclusive or not.
I own an ok gaming pc, so last month i just purchased a PS5 because i wanted to play playstation exclusives i didn't think of buying an Xbox because what we get on Xbox, they are available on PC as well. So yeah PS5 is a winner

I share a lot of these same sentiments as you. I feel though that ever since the Xbox One, the Xbox brand hasn’t been as badass as they once were in the 6th and 7th gen eras. What a shame too because the Original Xbox (along with PS2) was the console that got me into gaming and was strongly part of my childhood, and the Xbox 360 got me through most of my middle school and high school years, you can tell that I'm a big Xbox fan. I even defended the Xbox One to death last gen despite admittedly being a fairly disappointing console overall.
Like you, I love my Xbox Series X, but in terms of 1st party titles, I'm underwhelmed too. Halo Infinite had a great campaign but a weak multiplayer due to slow content, Gears of War should’ve just been a trilogy and never made it past 3, Forza is still a brilliant franchise but obviously not everyone is into racing games, and with a few other exceptions like Hi-Fi Rush, High on Life, and the two Ori games, the current Xbox Series X/S exclusives are mostly mediocre at best with Redfall of course being pretty bad from what I’ve heard. Here’s to hoping Starfield will turns things around for Xbox, Microsoft cannot afford anymore disappointments or else less & less people will be interested in the Series X/S and if that gets way worse in the long run, Microsoft would be forced to exit the console market which I don’t want to happen, but it could potentially happen if Microsoft don’t get their shit together. Lastly as for the 3rd party multiplatform games, you think they’ll perform the best on Series X due to its more powerful hardware, but in real life most of them are either identical as hell or in some cases they actually perform a little better on the PS5 (latter could likely be though due to having the PS5 as the lead platform).
So yeah, get your shit together Microsoft and stop with the broken promises! Sorry for a pretty long comment, but I too had to get this disappointment out of my chest, lol.
Honestly if Fable would go ahead and come out, that would be great. Even Nintendo has Zelda out next week. Aside from Hogwarts Legacy, which you can play on literally PC and PlayStation, there's nothing I want to load up on my Xbox. I still love my Xbox but PlayStation gets more of my time.
That's right! Hopefully the next fable lives up to expectations. We can play Elden ring, hogwarts legacy, fifa etc on playstation as well so you might as well get a playstation and get all the great exclusives too
Look. People need to be held responsible for their part of decision making. If you knew xbox hasn't had up to par games since 2014....that's 7 years of giving up. If you bought one anyways, you gambled and lost. If you didn't know the track record, it's a life lesson.

I gave it a reasonable time to turn around but not being so stupid and buying the current gen. Without some return on games. They used my support to buy game engines and not games, I'm ashamed I gave them money. Miserable cock slobbers. Watch...the next doom wont run on vulkan, which is superior to direct x, I guarantee (I like that word recently) it'll run on directx. They bought Bethesda to kill vulkan. Even then I only use it for stuff like Halo, Minecraft, and some Indies. Xbox is pretty boring with it's catalog and if nothing interesting comes out soon it'll just continue to drop in sales

Selling my xbox halo edition today. Bought it for the halo hype, but that turned out being disappointing too since theres hardly a playerbase. Forza kept me waiting, but it takes too long.
I will predict that xbox will disapear like the way sega exit the console market if you consider that they are already trying to get rid of their physical media it wont be long before they just stop making console and turn their platform into a netflix type platform or be a pc type thing i also can see them trying to get their onto a roku tv as an app

I have had an Xbox since I was 7. All the way back in 2012. I am going to be 18 in under a month. Xbox was my childhood console. I only got a PS4 pro last year and Im not gonna lie, I enjoy it more than my series x. It just shows Microsoft is failing us. As soon as I get the money. I'm buying myself a PC. Significantly better than an Xbox these days. I'm only still playing Xbox because I have a lot of game progression on it, for example my apex items and stuff
We have been waiting over 10 years for quality exclusives being released at a regular rate.I’m tired of constantly waiting only to be let down by delays and mediocre releases.I have beat more games on either Ps5 or Switch than on Xbox for the last 2 generations.Forza is the only consistent game
I used to have all consoles in previous generations. In this, so far, I saw no point whatsoever to buy Xbox Series console - it really lacks games that would convince me it is worth the money.
Microsoft has sucked since half way thru the 360 life cycle. I mean if the sales aren't enough proof for you, or the lack of 1st party exclusives, or the now rapidly failing series x/s due to hardware failure, or the fastest controls to drift even faster then the joycon, if all of that doesn't tell you then you are just a die hard fanboy that nothing will change your mind.
If one game (Redfall) has broken you than just sell your Xbox and stick with PlayStation.

Dolby Atmos is why I bought a xbox but I'm still waiting for Forza motor sport 8 I have a ps5 with gran tourismo 7 not happy with xbox they keep saying Forza motor sport 8 will be out but keep changing the release date.

I have both because i am more of a PlayStation boy. I regret buying xbox series x. There aren't any exclusives. None. Its terrible. I'm close to selling mine. Sony has outdone Microsoft who acquired bethesda for what? For us to wait 2 or 3 years for maybe a blockbuster game. Sucks. Valheim got old quickly because it's still a sandbox game unfinished. Im yruly disappointed and the game pass library really sucks.

1. 300 plus extra storage which is mandatory....brings your total up to 420 before taxes.
2. For 80 more dollars you dont have to swap nvme storage due to a split library
3. You DOUBLE your hardware performance

I went to ps5 camp for 2 years now and lost total interest into gaming because I always liked games like gears of war, halo wars and forza. I can’t find anything like it on ps5. I enjoyed god of war but taht is over now.

I usually like playing games on different systems. I have long been a Nintendo and PlayStation owner, but I dabbled in the Xbox with the 360 and enjoyed it. But ever since the One came out it just feels like Microsoft has genuinely struggled to give people who are not die hard fans a reason to even consider buying one. Gamepass is cool and all but that only holds people over for so long. The system is more powerful but who cares when you have almost no games to really take advantage of that. And if you care about graphics just buy a PC. Nearly 3 years in and PS5 already has multiple exclusives that are worth playing. Xbox is getting Starfield. I hope the game is amazing but even if it is it hardly gives people a reason to buy it for just one game

Xbox has been stale for a while now in their game pass catalogue while PlayStation is showing them up next to Nintendo (Ragnarök and Tears of The Kingdom can be prime examples). Game pass is good don't get me wrong, but Xbox doesn't really have much to offer when it comes to exclusives and they haven't in a while. I even sold my Xbox, just play game pass on my PC 🤷
They are not beating Sony by any metrics thats for sure. Many Xbox fans love to point out player numbers but that doesn't mean anything cos Minecraft players (who are mostly on switch btw) are counted. Playstation made $8.8 billion more than Xbox this last quarter, the PS5 is outselling the cheaper and easier to find Xbox consoles by 2:1 worldwide and even 5:1 in many regions, Playstation has better games and a lot of multiplats perform better on PS5. So tell me how Xbox is not failing?

my first two games were xbox games and while I grew up mostly with nintendo, I love xbox I love Halo and seeing them where there are, just makes me not love gaming cause I love the games they used to produce

@@julianlouis1 sorry but most of all Playstation exclusives nowadays are overrated and boring, not to mention they almost play the same: third person-heavy narrative with constant interruptions and walking simulators, no variety in their AAA lineup, and this is coming from a former PlayStation gamer.
Today I’m playing advance wars and Tears of the kingdom and the switch has variety in their exclusive lineup in spades, i don’t give a single s$&&t about graphics as long as the game is good and gives me fun, also I just finished Metroid prime remastered and boy, how far Sony has fallen with their movie like games. If they like stories so much they’ll be better making movies and writing books seriously

Xbox tried to copy a pc design but did a shittier version biggest issue is games dont particuliar run that great most of their games come with bugs or lack of content and their physical has been shit biggest issue with xbox is quality control. There is a reason why people are migrating to playstation and nintendo switch. Playstation gets really good triple a games likegod of war and spiderman games and nintendo say no more you got mario fire emblem splatoon smash bros, mario kart got new pokemon gamesdonkey kong metroid dread new kirby games and animal crossing. The point is nintendo output is stacked that you can name just about every game nintendo has put out.
Xbox has great game franchises, Forza, Gears, Halo but they just aren't as hard hitting as Sony's exclusives and sometimes, with the likes of Halo they just can't catch a break. I suppose Microsoft know they can't compete with Sony so they haven't tried to and that is why they decided to offer gaming as a service, forcing Sony to play catch up. I always look at Microsoft as in a better position to offer value for money, they are definitely more thankful to their customers I feel whereas Sony have a way of always feeling very corporate and care more about their investors. Personally I find I play more games on Xbox because they have more to offer and they are more generous, Game Pass is exceptional value for money, I have saved so much money because I haven't wasted my money on AAA games and just waited for them to come to Game Pass instead, but I guess rightly so Sony have the better exclusives.
Xbox does have some great titles but I feel like nothing AAA is coming out any time soon thats going to blow our minds unlike playstation, I feel like sony are still releasing stuff, keeping it exciting and fresh while xbox is getting left behind, gamepass is still great but nothing new and exciting has come out on it for a while. I think having worked in the game industry I know how these companies work and I have insight. You can hate how Microsoft manage Xbox and that is your right, but I personally hate how Sony manage PlayStation and how their approach might not be the best - but it is working for them regardless.
