I plan on buying the series S. I haven’t gamed since early Xbox 360 so I don’t need fancy graphics or speeds. The price point being £250 for the console with 3 months game pass was hard for me to ignore, I’m happy Xbox is trying to remove the entry barrier for newer gaming.
Honestly bro, unless you got both right next to each other side-by-side you’re not really going to see a super big difference especially if you got the right TV or monitor I mean, obviously the resolution is gonna be a little better on the Xbox series X, but most people don’t got a 4K monitor that supports the 120 Hz and the 4K most TVs do now but honestly, I feel like a 2K monitor that can support anything 120 Hz and up would be perfect for the series S even with my Xbox series X my graphics are pretty good on that monitor and I know people are gonna say well of course you’re not gonna see any difference if you use the same monitors no I used a 4K TV that does 120 Hz for the series X also and compared it to my 2K monitor that supports 165 Hz with my series S at the time and obviously there was some better graphics but nothing for me to pay the extra money for the series X plus I don’t have any physical Xbox gamesso I ended up selling my series X and keeping my series S and bought a portable screen for it
After maining an S for about 3 years I now have both. An X in the living room on the big 4K TV, and my faithful S which now lives on the desk in my office room connected to a HD monitor.
I will chime in with some advice for the following scenario which seems to be very common: what to do if you have around 500-600$ and you are split on which one to get. In this scenario, I would say there are two options. If you have that kind of money and you are very hesitant, it's obvious that for you, 4K gaming isn't gonna be a deal breaker even if you would enjoy having it. However if you don't already have a 4K TV, then you are gonna have to spend a significant sum of extra money just to get one. So with that in mind I would heavily suggest to just get the S and save yourself some money. It's not like the S is this huge downgrade in terms of graphics. Yeah the X looks quite a bit more crisp and clean on a 4K TV, but the S looks okay and will definitely get the job done. And like I said, if you are hesitant then you probably don't care about 4K THAT much. So just get the S and Game Pass and start playing, you'll have a good time. If you do already own a 4K TV, then obviously just get the X since your setup is ideal for it. The thing I would advise to keep in mind the most is the storage. On the X it's around 850 GB but on the S it's 350 GB. So unless you wanna get external memory or the expansion card, you will need to learn how to manage your space if you get an S. I struggled at first but I learned how to handle it and now I'm good. But if you want, you can just get the S and with the leftover cash you will still have enough to get the official expansion card which is expensive yes but if you find a good deal on it, it'll be totally worth it just for the ease of access. You just plug it in and you're good. No unscrewing panels and whatnot. Fyi I was in a similar boat, stuck between getting and X or S. But I did some research and realized since I have only a 1080p TV and a 4K would be too much for me, the S would be perfectly fine because I am noy that picky about graphics. And yes it was and still is totally great for me. I love my S and I use it everyday. Game Pass is great too. No complaints from me.
I still use the older Xbox One S console and perfectly happy with it. You can get a new one for less than half the cost of the Series X or S and it even has a drive for discs. Of course the newer games designed for the Series X and S won't run well if at all on the Xbox One but there's still plenty of games out there to enjoy.

My xbox one series S just broke on me yesterday and I'm looking to make the upgrade. Great video helping me on this, going with the series S for me. Cheers
I bought the series x for 350 new during holidays and it's well worth the price. It's built really well and quiet. I'm playing on a 1400p monitor but that doesn't bother me at all because I always choose performance in games, and in performance mode you're not getting 4k anyways, usually it's dynamic 1400-1800p if not less, of course depends on game.
Exactly. I always play on performance mode for all my games and I would rather have a monitor that’s 1440p with a high refresh rate than go for a 4k monitor and be restricted to 60hz. A 1440p 120+ hz monitor is the best sweet spot for the series X unless you want to break the bank and get a 4k 120hz tv or monitor, which is useless anyway as 99% of games can’t even run at that resolution and fps
I only really want to get a console for Halo MCC. Pricewise the Xbox S is great and im not overly concerned about graphics. As long as it looks good and plays well im happy. Need to buy a monitor as well so £250 saving will go towards that. Any suggestions?
A bit of a late comment, but you could try Ultimate Game Pass and play on PC or iPad through Xbox cloud gaming to play Halo MCC, it’ll cost about £20 instead of £250 if graphics isn’t a factor. You’d need a controller and decent WiFi speed but that’s it (PS3/PS4 controller or Older Xbox controllers).
Hello, I had a question. I want to buy an Xbox Series X. Do you think I should buy the disc-drive model or wait for the digital Xbox Series X to come? Please help me. Thank you. 🙏🙏♥️
What’s is never talked about is the necessity to have a strong internet connection with the S and Game Pass when the X can play non-online games. Being in a wifi “dead” zone, playing streaming games and online teams can be an issue and frustrating as you loose connection and, therefore, your game progress. With the X offering physical games options, this can be the only solution when having bad internet connection
Physical games need internet to be downloaded as well. This was one of the most frustrating aspects of having the physical software, its not ready to go out of the box!
I become super casual and sold my x and pc with 6950xt and just use series s and it’s more than enough.my tv does such amazing job upscaling 1080p still looks really good plus series s is really small so it’s very easy to travel with
Getting an Xbox for Christmas and this one I definitely know the series s will be the one I am getting. They are practically the same console. I am also getting gamepass and a few other things with it. Quite affordable and it suits my gaming needs might I add that my setup is a small stand with a cutting board holding up my tv so the series s should fit well. I’m using a ps4 at the moment (praying my house doesn’t lift off the ground) it is showing its limits and it is big so I don’t have much space to put it. I also have a small room so I need to so I need to save the space I have I also don’t have psp and I don’t plan on buying it because if I switch to Xbox I practically get psp and more did I mention I am getting gp ultimate also for psp I think it is over $100 for the basic yearly subscription and gp ultimate I think is almost as much as that if not less
Nice, I have a 4K 120fps on my media/game room 86” only………I’m trying to decide on which because I haven’t gamed at all in about 5 or so years😳, I’m looking to get one of the two for my daughter and son and maybe start gaming a little myself again. So you would recommend the X over the s I’m guessing, the money is not a big issue to me but a couple of hundred back in the pocket would be nice if there’s not much difference……..my daughter is the oldest and she just turned 8 as a reference and all she wants to do is play online with the neighbors games like Roblox and Minecraft and stuff like that?! 😂🤷🏽♂️
Hi buddy. Thank you so much for this, it has helped me alot! I have been playing PS4 For a long time now. I wanted to play the new Stalker game out soon but its not on PlayStation sadly so to play it I need an xbox. For my needs I will just get the Xbox s. Wouldn't have had a clue without your knowledge. Much respect brother, Steve from the UK.
Can’t decide on which to get. Is the game performance and graphics still pretty good on Xbox series S? That’s the only thing that concerns me. I’m pretty much just getting it for the new college football game & eventually GTA 6.
4:30 Can I also in turn use a 3rd party controller on the Xbox? I bought a Logitech controller for my PC and in device manager and in the games it's called an Xbox or Xbox 360 Controller. I really like this design because although it has these Xbox specific elements like the colored YBAX action buttons and the RT/LT-RB/LB designations on the top buttons and triggers it still uses a symmetrical Thumbstick design like the Playstation controllers with the D-Pad beeing placed on the top left were. It's just more intuitive for me that way to play with two sticks. So if I can use the Xbox controller on any game on PC can I also use my 3rd party Logitech Xbox 360 controller on the Xbox Series X without compatibility issues in terms of speed and button mashing? I know this might sound like a silly question but I'm pretty new to thos whole console thing.
Hi could you please tell me if there is anything I would miss if I just buy a xbox series s for my son. Can he still play all the games that xbox one x gets? It's more affordable, but I don't want to get something that will be outdated soon
@@aaronbennett7716 it plays all the games that are released on the series X! Developers have to make games for both consoles and you will not be missing out on anything!
this really helped me decide what to buy, i can easily buy an S but the X seems like the better route especially for down the line. its like buying a scat pack or just savibg more money and buying a hellcat lol. but tbh i only wanna play ea college football 25 😂 so this video helped thanks.
What is the performance difference when playing in 1080p? Is it negligible and only noticeable when playing in 2k or 4k but not in 1080p on both consoles? I'm primarily PC but I saw NCAAF won't be on PC and console only so trying to decide between S and X.
I don't really have internet I may not have a choice but to go with the series x for the Xbox because you have to have internet to download digital games
I think the only thing holding me back from the S is that I won't be able to play Xbox 360 and ONE games by just putting the disk in and downloading the game. Would I have to repurchase the game to play it on the S or is it just automatically downloaded since it is on my ONE right now?
Thanks! I never realised that the series S is basically the same price as a Switch OLED (I got the NS OLED, not knowing at the time) I kinda regret it, considering the games I want to play are never on the Switch. I might consider buying an S soon.
@preston8872 If you can only buy one go for ps5 disc edition. It has a bigger library than xbox and you can always looks for used games (discs) to save some money. You should check what xbox gamepass offers too to see if it matches what you are interested in playing too
I have a PlayStation 5. I’m also a student pilot as well, and I was thinking about getting an Xbox to ONLY play Microsoft flight simulator. Which one do you recommend me getting? I don’t plan on using it for anything else other than to play flight simulator. I think the obvious answer would be the Xbox series S. What do you think?
I recommend xbox series x the xbox series s is having issues playing games like baudler gate 3 and coral island crashimg all the time tjey ay fine on xbox series x.
Its quite hard to pick any platform and their options. They're all still way too expensive, and over here, they still cost the same as when the current generation of Xbox and PlayStation launched. Best I can do is dream about owning one
I still have the One X and i think it is outstanding. 4K Resolution,HDR,Dolby Vision and has 6 teraflops of graphical power if you have the TV/Monitor to support it
Ok I have a 7yr old looking for a ps5 for Christmas but the price of the Xbox S is a big difference but I'd like to know which would last longer and am I better off buying I've googled and watched so many youtube posts that in gone 🥴 please what's your advice he currently has a Nintendo switch
The Xbox Series S is not as strong in performance as the PS5 or the Xbox Series X. What that means is that some games do not look as good and play as smooth. The PS5 will definetly last you longer than the Xbox Series S.
I don’t think a 7yr old is going to look for performance and the techno jargons, he has a switch , anything is Better that a switch, you can go ahead and get the series s and buy some games from the money saved
If my tv is 4k can I use a series S and it will just run at a lower quality? I don't really care about the quality as long as it's as good (if not better) than the xbox one
I got an S in 2021 and now have an x 3 years later. The S was great but eventually I needed more space on internal ssd and instead of buying a ssd expansion I figured I’d get the x and get the added visuals and performance along with the space
There’s a ram difference and that may not really matter as much now but it will in the future when a game like gta6 that has to load a huge map with 30-60 people on it at once. The Series S is already starting to run into problems(currently own the series S getting my Series X today) minor things that were easy to fix but still annoying. Sometimes the console won’t turn on/has a booting up problem I’ve had to reset my series S once already. Two of my friends have also had the same thing happen and had to reset there’s as well, but nobody I know that has an X has had the same issue. Gaming will continue to advance Microsoft knows this why do you think the Series S exist in the first place it’s more money for them because they know as time goes on and more games release that are more powerful people will start seeing issues with the S and haft to spend more money to upgrade to the X. I’m not saying the S isn’t worth it though I mean I’ve enjoyed mine since 2022 and for the most part it’s done me justice especially if it’s the only thing you can afford at the time. I will say though just prepare yourself for future problems down the road especially when a title like GTA6 releases the X was made to handle what’s coming but the series S in my opinion wasnt intended to last until the next gen of consoles release why else would Microsoft sell it for so cheap in comparison. also there’s a pro version of the X coming out this November so you can wait for that as well.
I owned the series s for a while now and just upgraded to the series x. In my opinion, the series s is beginning to show its limits now, and it struggles on some games. Others run fine, so it's probably just optimization, but still, im glad i got the upgrade.
your not wrong the warhammer games are a great example of this on space marine 2 you are capped at 720p 30fps on series x you have 60fps 1440p Same with Darktide it’s 30fps and feels like 720p Something to be considered if you plan on getting newer games or in general higher spec games your better off with series x, the issue with s is frame drops happen more and the speed can become grading after a few years of use
Out side of "wanting" the best, I've had a series x, went back to ps5 after a year, recently got a new series s on eBay really cheap, and i was surpringly shocked at how good it is, there's not too much difference only slightly worse graphic fidelity, still let you set it to 4k 120 if you have the correct tv/monitor
I literally just found out about the series S I really wasn’t about to get the Xbox x until I just felt like spending 500 dollars on a game console. I’m getting old 😩
I got the x because I like having the option to use the disc drive hand the higher graphics power and it was only a few more dollars a month then the s on a 6 month 0 interest loan so win win win
@@bopbop-cz5wb my first one I ordered from target with affirm. Paid that off within 2 months. Spilt rootbeer into it cause I was a dumba** November laster year I went to GameStop traded the old one in Suprisingly it started to work for them and gave me full trade price. Now I have the series X all digital version as most of my games are digital anyways. Paid in cash. But also only spent 120$ for a new console the GameStop guy was a real one and used his membership points code or something to knock the price down even more.
Anyone able to tell me if I had the Series S, would I be able to have Fifa and BO6 downloaded at same time along with apps etc. and also if I Baught the next gen bo6 would I be able to play it on Xbox 1 and then when I get Xbox series X/S can I transfer bo6 over?
@@JoshJr98 cheers mate, if say I wanna buy another game. Can I just uninstall cod for abit to make space and if I wanna then jump back on cod can I just do the same and make space and reinstall or does it not work like that
The series s even although no nvidia shield has the possibilities of cloud gaming due to the microsoft edge browser. Which supports browser based cloud game streaming
I have a question, I'm considering changing from PS 4 Pro to Xbox Seire S, and I'm wondering if it's a good change or if i should stay with my ps 4 pro ?
Different selection of games altogether, but the Series S will allow you to play newer releases where Sony will eventually stop making games for the ps4
I went from a ps4 pro to an S. My ps4 pro has been collecting dust. Not that it's much more powerful or look much better but games run a little smoother especially racing games. Quick resume is cool feature and the loading times are so much better on the S.
I already have a real good pc but I want a console to play ufc and ready for gta 6 launch coz I doubt it will be available on windows the same time as console get it
I’m not gonna lie I’ve had both consoles and I like the series S better just cause a smaller sleeper. You can move it around easier and I also like that I don’t have to bring a bunch of physical games with me when I travel and the portable monitor that I had that connects to it is super perfect because all you have to do is plug in the system and now you got a built-in TV and can play a bunch of good games anywhere it’s like having a bigger version of a laptop. I will say that the series X is better if you’re going to be at home strictly playing your Xbox games I know you can always remote play Your games but even then you gotta leave your system on and you gotta have a good Wi-Fi connection. I feel like doing it the way I got it set up. You can actually bring your own system. I even got a carrying bag that came with it and it works great so I just bring that and my steam deck and that’s all I need for my gaming on the go.
I want the power of the Xbox X, but I travel quite a bit, and the slim design of the Xbox S is very nice. I can fit it in a backpack or small suitcase if I need to. The Xbox X is just too big to do that, and is the only reason I have the Xbox S.
I have had absolutely zero performance issues- With my Xbox S. You don’t need more ram, because it does not support 4k. If I was a hardcore gamer, I would buy the S. In reality, It is more then adequate for my needs with the S. I think it is that way for most people. You really would need a higher end TV and 4k capability to justify the differences.
It's really what you value most, graphics or cost. I have a Series S as my second console, with PS5 as my primary console, so I have the Series S because it's cheap. It plays the games just fine, and if you mostly buy Indie titles or games not requiring a lot of processing power, the Series S makes a lot of sense. If you want the best graphics and you've got £450 spare then the Xbox Series X is the console for you. I've never used the quick resume feature. I can only play one game t a time, and it's a pretty sad state of affairs if waiting two or three minutes for a game to load is a burden to some people. For me, it's an almost pointless novelty.
He advises against getting an S if you have a 4K TV, but to be honest I think with its upscaling it looks great, especially for that really low price compared to the X or PS5
Xbox is definitely better than PlayStation, whether it’s SX or SS, Just being able to swap between 6 games in the matter of seconds and game pass is enough to put it in the lead I think. Not too mention forza horizon.
I still love using my PS5 and I can say it definitely has advantages over the Xbox, especially with in-game load times with faster SSD speeds. It all comes down to personal preference.
this is a better video then the one i watched with this old guy, actually talks about everything not just it being cheap and the s being the future.
I think I just clicked of that old guys video did he have a pointy beard haha he called a m.2 drive a hdd 😂
And you save more money,,,

Naw S is good bro almost same graphics and next gen & digital so you don't have to worry bout your game getting stratch or broken digital gen.

It’s night a day from S to X . I now play on 120fps & love it. I can now keep up with pc players on fps games
Good choice!
Also the other tvs say 4K but I think those are only 60fps!
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you found the video helpful!

@@MannyRataulWhich should I get ps5 digital edition, ps5 disc edition, Xbox series s or Xbox series x? I've used ps2,ps3,ps4, Xbox 360 and Xbox one.
Can’t decide on which to get. Is the game performance and graphics still pretty good on Xbox series S? That’s the only thing that concerns me. I’m pretty much just getting it for the new college football game & eventually GTA 6.
For GTA6 I reccomend buying a Series X or wait for November when the X Pro is announced.
@@MannyRataul ok thanks manny. What about GTA 6 makes you suggest Xbox series X?
Thanks for the response
Great Review! very well done. Thank you for your help!
Only Microsoft licensed controllers work on the Xbox
If you’re gonna play super casually, get the S. If you’re a gamer and get into a lot of story mode based games, definitely get the X
Which would be better for beginner adolescents? After some research it seems PC gaming may be to complicated for beginners. Thank you for making this.
@@PlunderRoad definitely the cheaper option, Series S
@ Thanks! 🙏
What is the performance difference when playing in 1080p? Is it negligible and only noticeable when playing in 2k or 4k but not in 1080p on both consoles? I'm primarily PC but I saw NCAAF won't be on PC and console only so trying to decide between S and X.
Have you decided I’m in the same boat
Graphic is better in 1080 on x. I got my x today and used the s before.
There's no discernible difference between the two at 1080p
Very helpful. Thanks
Hello there which is a better option for fs?
I don't really have internet I may not have a choice but to go with the series x for the Xbox because you have to have internet to download digital games
You still need internet for discs
@@JakeGamingYT_The9the mfer needs internet to even reply to this🤣👏🏾
Only buy an xbox if you buy Internet 1st.
I already have a ps5 and I don’t have any physical xbox disc so Series S seems like the smart choice. I do like how series X looks tho
Been thinking the same. Target is having a banging deal on the S right now.
Which should I get ps5 digital edition, ps5 disc edition, Xbox series s or Xbox series x?
@preston8872digital Xbox for gamepass, disk ps5 for owning disk exclusives
@preston8872 If you can only buy one go for ps5 disc edition. It has a bigger library than xbox and you can always looks for used games (discs) to save some money. You should check what xbox gamepass offers too to see if it matches what you are interested in playing too
Great video 👏
I have a PlayStation 5. I’m also a student pilot as well, and I was thinking about getting an Xbox to ONLY play Microsoft flight simulator. Which one do you recommend me getting? I don’t plan on using it for anything else other than to play flight simulator. I think the obvious answer would be the Xbox series S. What do you think?
Series S is a great choice. Question, will you be using a controller or stick for the simulator?
@@MannyRataul controller for now until I am able to get a flight setup going. I just can’t afford a full flight setup because I know it is expensive.
Which should i get ps5 digital edition, ps5 disc edition, xbox series S or xbox series x?
I already have a nice 4k 120hz TV. Should I just get the Series X? I just plan on playing Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Destiny 2, and maybe just maybe COD.
Really enjoyable video.
You can plug a controller in any power source and not necessarily the Xbox itself.
baldurs gate convinced me to get the series x for future proofing
So helpful❤❤❤❤
Good advice. Good video.
Good video
I recommend xbox series x the xbox series s is having issues playing games like baudler gate 3 and coral island crashimg all the time tjey ay fine on xbox series x.
Its quite hard to pick any platform and their options. They're all still way too expensive, and over here, they still cost the same as when the current generation of Xbox and PlayStation launched. Best I can do is dream about owning one
That’s very unfortunate I’m so sorry where are you from
I am mostly going to be playing my sports games like fifa and 2k on the console i dont know what to get
being digital only is a huge deal breaker to me for ANYTHING that is supposed to play games.
Does it matter nowadays? All physical games just install the digital version anyway..
Using Quick Resume is like flying over the Bermuda Triangle.
Yes
How can you play games on both consoles if series X uses discs and series S uses digital downloads?
The series X also can play digital games.
I owned the series s for a while now and just upgraded to the series x. In my opinion, the series s is beginning to show its limits now, and it struggles on some games. Others run fine, so it's probably just optimization, but still, im glad i got the upgrade.
Which should I get ps5 digital edition, ps5 disc edition, Xbox series s or Xbox series x?
your not wrong the warhammer games are a great example of this on space marine 2 you are capped at 720p 30fps on series x you have 60fps 1440p
Same with Darktide it’s 30fps and feels like 720p
Something to be considered if you plan on getting newer games or in general higher spec games your better off with series x, the issue with s is frame drops happen more and the speed can become grading after a few years of use

@MoeJaxon Which should I get ps5 digital edition, ps5 disc edition, Xbox series s or Xbox series x?

Spilt rootbeer into it cause I was a dumba** November laster year I went to GameStop traded the old one in Suprisingly it started to work for them and gave me full trade price. How do these systems compare when doing cloud gaming?
Depends entirely on your internet connection
The series s even although no nvidia shield has the possibilities of cloud gaming due to the microsoft edge browser. Which supports browser based cloud game streaming
Just got a series s with a 516 gb ssd on marketplace for 130$
How much of a difference is there in graphics between the 2 ?
Noticeable with textures and draw distance
I have a question, I'm considering changing from PS 4 Pro to Xbox Seire S, and I'm wondering if it's a good change or if i should stay with my ps 4 pro ?
Different selection of games altogether, but the Series S will allow you to play newer releases where Sony will eventually stop making games for the ps4
I went from a ps4 pro to an S. My ps4 pro has been collecting dust. Not that it's much more powerful or look much better but games run a little smoother especially racing games. Quick resume is cool feature and the loading times are so much better on the S.

@@Dameronjordan ......get a PC......

I used S for 4 years since 2021, it was good enough unless your analyzing every frame and texture
Series s 4k is awesome if your tv has a really good upsclaing inbuilt
Xbox is definitely better than PlayStation, whether it’s SX or SS, Just being able to swap between 6 games in the matter of seconds and game pass is enough to put it in the lead I think.
Not too mention forza horizon.
I still love using my PS5 and I can say it definitely has advantages over the Xbox, especially with in-game load times with faster SSD speeds. It all comes down to personal preference.
I mean you can't beat Playstations first party game line up. Crushes x box but I like the series S for value
I wonder why Sony didn’t make a ps5 equivalent to the series s
