    Although some people have stated this pack is expensive, and it is, I feel the price is comparable to many of the cottage manufacturers from USA. You are getting an extremely well made, well designed, comfy pack, ability to customise and excellent customer service. If Atom packs can ramp up their production, I’m sure it’s a pack that will be seen a lot more on the trail especially on thru hikes.

    Hi Abbie, when you're out walking with the pack on, the bottom stretchy pocket is where you can put snack bars etc, you can easily pull a choc bar out while on the move, and if you look carefully there is a tiny cut out hole on the opposite side to the large opening where you stuff the wrappers back in! Clever thoughtful stuff 😀

    Abbie, i think your videos are awesome but can you please review some more affordable hiking gear for the starter or less well off hiker. I have only usex cheaper gear as that's all I can afford and have done a few multi day hikes without any trouble and been comfortable.

    As others have mentioned bottom pocket is good for snacks and rubbish. If the weather isn’t raining, but cool, I also use it to store a beanie and gloves that I take off on the go in the morning once I start to warm up.

    Got the mo 59 litre for my cape wrath trail adventure April 2022
    Most comfortable pack iv ever had.
    Great roll top, can be customised according to load.
    Great price for a very well made pack.
    Customer service, second to none 👍🙏✅😊

    Full agree. The Mo is a fantastic backpack. He has now accompanied me over 1000km and still looks like the first day.
    But I wondered if your model doesn't have side compression straps for the top closure. Because normally you do not roll and clip the top (so you lose a lot of space inside) but instead roll and clip with the side straps each.

    Great video Abbie, really well presented. I love these shorts - interesting and informative, yet retaining your character and humour, so very enjoyable and useful next time I have to purchase any kit! Thank you!

    I know a few people with Atom Packs, they all speak highly of the brand. They do look very good. Thanks for the information and going through all the specs 😊

    Hi Abbie, after having used the Atom Mo and the Zpacks Arc Haul, which do you find you prefer? Do find the comfort of the Mo to be superior to the Arc Haul?

    I’ve got the same pack but with more colours. I use the very bottom outside packet to keep rubbish in - I use a large zip lock bag and just stuff my rubbish into it and anything I pick up on the trail. I wash and reuse the zip lock over and over.

    Totally agree Abbie. Bought an Atom Pack in 2018 and it totally transformed everything. It was so comfortable and easy to use. It still looks great. Just about to invest in a larger one so your review was perfect to make up my mind about the Mo. I took another backpack on a long trip last year and all I could think of was my super comfortable atom I’d left at home as it was too small. 😢😅😂

    Great review, me too bring camera gear so total weight is around 15-17kg depending on the level of food. How heavy have you been hiking with it and is it comfy enough for a week away?

    You mentioned the internal clip (among many other features). I would use it to clip my car keys on, so they don't drop to the bottom or get lost somewhere else.

    I still can’t decide between Atom Packs Mo 50 or Durston Kawka 40.
    Both have internal frame. Durston seems more robust due to horisontal structure of the frame, while Mo 50 has only single insert frame & plastic sheet.
    On the other hand, shoulder strap & hip belt in Mo 50 looks thicker, therefore more comfortable. Also, Mo 50 has lumbar pad, while Kawka 40 not.
    Any suggestion? Thanks

      I'm stuck on these 2 packs as well. Hard choice for sure.

    • @jamesb7563
      @jamesb7563 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plastic sheet in the mo gives great structure to the pack and makes it durable. Also ability to mould the metal stay makes it nice and customisable. If you do go for the Kakwa, make sure you get the next new batch as the design of original had issues with the frame at the base abrading through the pack. This we are told has been addressed and reinforced.

    Just to clarify - Denier measures the 'density' of the fibre used to make the fabric. The Denier number is the mass, in grams, of a 9000 metre length of the fibre. This all comes from the quality of silk, for which a single fibre 9000 m long weighs one gram.

    Ultralight backpacks are often known as "not that comfortable". Do you think the Zpacks Arc haul or the Atompacks is more comfortable?

    Does anyone know by chance if it fits international carry-on standards, or the ability to strap it down to 55 x 35 x 25cm? I can't seem to find it

    Hi, I have recently purchased the MO EP60. Excellent pack. The only comment I would make having watched your video is that the mesh pockets on the shoulder straps on your MO50 seem far more stretchy than on my EP60. The mesh on mine is stretchy but is restricted by the band around the top of the pocket, which seems to use normal cotton rather than elasticated thread. Does the band stretch on yours?
    Excellent review btw.

    • @jamesb7563
      @jamesb7563 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The front pocket on yours would be the “bullet net” option whereas this one is “Dyneema stretch”. Your one has more capacity, (5L more) but potentially less durable but easier to repair.

    • @dcaudwell

      Custom-made and indeed hand-made (in the UK!) and, most of all, made for folks who do a lot of backpacking! A sensible price for those people, who then get everything they want and nothing they don't , and a pack that fits perfectly to boot!
      For sure, there are plenty of cheaper packs, mass-made in the Far East, from cheaper materials, that are more than adequate for most of us!

    • @davidalexander287
      @davidalexander287 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a lovely back pack but as you say expensive so will stick with my Osprey Rook I picked up in a sale for £95. Good video.

    • @garyboyle695
      @garyboyle695 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It may be expensive but you have to look at it as a long term investment. Yes you could pick something up for under £100 that was made in the Far East by people earning peanuts. I'd rather pay for something that will last a lifetime and made by people earning a decent wage.
