Weird that Angie's canyon duel takes place in Copper Ridge but in the wiki it takes place in Devil's Creek Pass. And for some reason, Lookout Point is actually the road that connects both Rockport and Palmont.
considering the fact you're going the same way as you did to palmont in the prologue, i wouldn't be surprised if the player got the car to the right tyre and engine temp by going further back near rockport then turning again once they had enough heat

Hell, we earned 10,000,000 bounty above back then and then Cross gives us 150k for reckless driving? And the M3 GTR got totaled by heavy steel pipes? Stupid logic. At the beginning cutscene, there's a sign named Palmont City where the player is heading. And Lookout Point also has that sign, meaning it's that canyon that connects both cities.

It seems like every company is going for an unrealistic approach in each of their entertainment mediums like F&F and NFS for example, they went from street racing to literally stealing tanks and space ships and going to the moon while NFS is now turned into an anime wanna be with a cringe and corny story
The Muscle cars are such Glasscannons in this game. Very effective, but very fragile. They struggle to turn, but if you're able to launch past opponents and keep them from passing you in the corners, you win automatically, no 2nd dual. If someone is used to motorcycles, being all about acceleration over out turning cars. Then they would understand the Musclecar class in this game. Straightening out turns, point-&-shoot driving style, basically teleporting straights. Feeling like you worpped to a corner, and have to crawl through it. I prefer turning quickly & cleanly, but this vehicle style can be really fun.
Playing Carbon: - as a kid: Maxed Charger - Maxed Viper vs Tier 2-3 - as a teenager : Maxed Brera vs Tier 2 - Maxed Kenji's RX7 vs Tier 3 - as an adult: Stock RX8 Vs Tier 2-3 - as an elderly man: Handicapped mopped vs Tier 3 I've played countless hours of this game, over time you find the AI too easy and learn how it behaves. Also you learn the canyons tracks. So let's make it harder everytime I go back to Carbon.

They don't make racing games like these anymore. Its just sad the state of need for speed right now. I just wish they make games like underground, most wanted 2005, or this game. All video games have all these bugs and issues right when they release too.
NFS ended after Rivals, dumbass. It lost it's soul when 2015 came out, and we literally received a shit storyline, plus shit physics. Rivals was okay but it had a dark/cheesy storyline but it's still acceptable for being one of the darkest storylines we've seen since Carbon: Own The City came out.

My advice is to leave a margin of error in the corners such as breaking a little earlier or hugging the inside. Most of the bosses will go at full force and often times mess up so it's a great opportunity to pass them. It can also depend on the car as well as they have strengths and weaknesses; Tuners handle great but lack in speed and acceleration Muscles have great speed and acceleration but will oversteer a lot Exotics also have great speed and acceleration but they tend to have understeer Hopefully this helped :)

There is basically no point to visually modifying cars in this game, unless you need to lower how likely cops are to show up. Especially the starter car, which you drive for basically none of the game and only use in really easy police chases. There's not even aerodynamic tuning any more - which is what made it worth putting a spoiler and bodykit on cars in Most Wanted. Also, except for the hoods, spoilers and chop-tops, most of the old muscle-car modifications are actually quite subtle. The bodykits essentially just look stock.

Finishing the races too quickly. We get it. Certain cars are beasts against certain AI but the best races are when it's too close to call a winner.
