  • Its the next day after we arrived at the villages and now that its day time I get to go and explore what this place is like on a normal day. This is when I also found out that there is more than one "village" so we'll check Market Square first and and then the other 2 villages in future uploads.

    You can live there, I live here, I moved here at 47, they can’t stop you from buying a pre owned home. I invested in another house to rent and am renting to my 30 yro son, he is a member to a club here in The Villages as well, there are 3200 clubs here.

      Not after, you lived though your first Hurricane, then the next one..To protect your life, pets and property, wanna go a little further inland..T.V. receives the reminisce of a hurricane, always turns into a tropical storm...Lived in the Keys, annual hurricane insurance $4k plus ....

    There are restrictions on what you can do, but It is not an HOA. What you pay are "amenity fees".

    I stay at the Waterfront from time to time. When my wife and I want to get away and not worry about drinking and driving. You are in one my favorite spots.

    Younger people can buy a pre-owned home there is a 80 20 ratio. Also there are a couple villages for families with kids.

    You are right, this place looks like Celebration, Florida, near Disney World. Beautiful! I’ll bet houses cost a pretty penny there, and I would imagine that the HOA’s are high. That being said, if you can afford to retire there, that is great! What a fun area! Love it that anyone can at least stay at the hotel! Beautiful hotel!
    Looks like Lisi got to go back to her shop the next day, after it reopened. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos on this area! Thanks for introducing many of us to it! I definitely want to check it out, when I am finally able to get out that way!

      Yes it’s kind of funny how similar it looks to Disney’s Main Street. A lot of people have asked about the prices here and I’m really not sure but I figured I’ll do a dedicated video covering real estate prices in the villages. If you do visit the villages definitely stay at the waterfront inn Jeannie you’ll love it!

      You can buy cute manufactured homes under 200,000 or houses up to a million and No matter where you live everyone pays the same HOA and has access to the same amenities

      There is a budget for everyone in the villages and the HOA fees at 160 per month is the biggest bargain for what they offer

    Music is every night in 3 town squares ....each neighborhood is a village with it's own name collectively The Villages.

    I know my sister and her husband definitely want a retirement lifestyle with activities mapped out for them to do every day. I wonder what a basic, 3/2 ranch home would cost and then what the HOA would be. The house they have now is paid off and they'll get a decent amount for it.
    I'm with you and Lissi. We need the beach. We moved from Ventnor Beach NJ to Oak Island, NC, and one of our deal MAKERS is that we have to be at, if not ON the beach. The dog is a beach bum and the beach vibe is his vibe.

      Instead of HOA, we have Amenity Fee which is $164 monthly to have access to the dozens of rec centers/pools/facilities/activities. We own a little courtyard villa in the Spanish Springs area and we love it!

    Looks beautiful, I would love living in the The Villages, except for the location. To far from the coast. I have since found a different 55+ community that I will be buying with in a year.

    There is no HOA fee. There is a an amenity fee of $164 per month. You don't have to be 55 to buy a home in The Villages. No one under the age of 19 can be a permanent resident of The Villages. The property manager I rented a home from in The Villages is not 55 yet, and she has owned a home in The Villages for a few years.

    I have heard that the average yearly income is $100,000! Also they have very high STD rate here. That is what the golf carts are for on the golf course when it is slow.

    Love this review of the villages. Just wondering how the businesses make enough money. I realize even outsiders can go to the shops but is it enough. Try to get more info on housing styles and pricing. Great job.

      Thank you Anthony, that is a good question. I would imagine like most of FL that the businesses have more of a high season in the winter, when all the snowbirds are in town that make up for the slower summers. I was thinking to do a dedicated video on the villages prices

      Come to The Villages in high season...January through March when the snowbirds are there. Much more crowded. If you want to do a 4 to 7 day Lifestyle Preview Visit, contact The Villages sales office.

      Preowned manufactured homes start at $140K and up. Patio villas at $200K and up. Courtyard and cottage/ranch homes $250K and up. Desinger homes $300K and up. Home prices have spiked in The Villages in the past 6 months. I"m waiting for prices to stabilize.

      Not sure but I did see a ton of housing nearby surrounding these market squares and I’m guessing not all of it is part of the villages or the 55 plus community

    Yes, the Villages is beautiful however like in your Ocala review, you failed to show the residenial areas. You can find beautiful home in both Ocala and the Villages. It is just lifestyle and how much you are willing to pay.

      I thought about showing the residential areas in Ocala but I don’t think it would’ve made for a very exciting video so I didn’t make it. I have the dash cam footage. As for the villages it’s not really possible to do it since you have to get permission to go inside the gated communities by someone who lives there

      @@MichaelBordenaro if you want to enter through the gates without a gate pass, there is a red button at each gate. Press the button, the gate arm will raise. That is how the landscapers, service technicians, UPS and Fed Ex get into the gated parts of The Villages.

    Was interested in The Villages, until the recent sink hole incident at the golf course. Are sink holes avoidable in Florida?
    [or is the crumbly limestone bedrock everywhere??]

      I did a video a while ago on sinkholes in my channel, check it out if you are concerned about them. Potentially, one can show up anywhere, but some spots are more prone

    How much in advance do you reserve your hotel? I visited Fort Lauderdale/Dania/Hollywood last weekend without reservations and many hotels had no vacancies. The first place I reserved was a hostel in Dania for $89 and was too gross to stay the night, so I walked up the street to a nearby motel and had to stand under their awning for 45 minutes until someone that had reserved their room didn't show up. Ended up paying $145 for that space and then the second night at another hotel I paid $289 and was the cheapest I could find.

      Believe it or not, we booked everything the same day literally on the spot or an hour or 2 ahead of arrival. We didn't have any issues. But we also had the flexibility to just move on to the next hotel / town since we drove everywhere

    If someone wants an active lifestyle in their 55+ years, there are so many activities and clubs in The Villages. If someone wants to watch television 14 hours a day, save your $ and look elsewhere.

      From what I've seen the houses are pricey. There is an HOA that govens everything, even what landscaping you can do on your property. Residents are not allowed to park their cars on the street overnight.

      What is your definition of affordable? Can you buy a home for inder $120K...no. Can you buy a home for under $250K...yes. Research the amenity fee, the bond payment that may exist on many homes, property taxes, utilities etc.

      @@tlw842 there is no HOA in The Villages. There are deed restrictions that each homeowner is responsible to follow to keep their property looking nice and well kept up.

    One thing that I know about the Villages, it is like 95% Trump supporters. If that’s your thing, you will love to retire there! Regardless of politics, I would rather live by the coast! Thanks for the tour, though!
