13:30 and 13:34 = Baggio showing a young Zidane some real magic ;)
Soon 27 k subscribers! Thank you very much my friends. I did not think my channel would be so popular 10 months ago when I started TH-cam on a continuous basis.
And it makes me happy that so many people like and appreciate the older football generation as much as I do.
I will continue to try to make videos to your wishes even though I do not have much time on the days to edit when I work full time.
I would appreciate if you want to continue spreading my clips and my channel so it's getting bigger, so maybe I'll have time to make even more videos in the future :D /Matigolvidz

Most underrated player of all time.
He won the Balon d'Or, but people always seem to forget Baggio. People always talk about Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi. But only people who actually saw Baggio play know how much magic he had in his feet. How much emotion every move Baggio made spurred in an entire nation and many people around the world. There are many talented players, but very very few players who just have this magic aura about them. Baggio was one of them. I miss him so much.

As proud English man I am more than happy to say Roberto Baggio is one of the finest football players I've ever seen. Football of the last 10 years cannot be compared to before 2000. Baggio was playing at this level at a time when opposition were still putting the boot into him if he played today where tackling is none existent he would be untouchable. The goal against the Czech Republic at Italia 90 is one of my favourite goals of all time. He was pure class .

1994- final, only lost on penalties
1998- he just missed the golden goal with a superb volley in the quarter final vs France. Had they wont that, then Italy wouldve beaten Ccroatia in the semi and then Brazil in the final

Does not invent, does not travel man, Totti was consistent where? • @Andrea_Daytona
      @Andrea_Daytona 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

Baggio was surely a better dribbler but Totti was insanely strong physically for being a nr.10. They both had insane vision and passing skills. Baggio won more probably because he had better teams. About consistency Baggio never won the golden foot but won the ballon d'or... They can't be compared too much because Baggio played in the golden era of football when skill mattered, Totti played great part of his carreer in the modern shitty physical football. I remember France 98 when Del Piero played but should have been left at home... Roby Baggio should have played with a young Totti as his sobstitute. They could have taken Italy a long way.... For me Totti could have been so much more if he had been in a top club and Baggio could have been in the top 5 of all times if he didn't suffer so many injuries... Tears comes to my eyes thinking of them playing...

Football fans like to fantasize about an uninjured Ronaldo(R9), what might have been....(and rightfully so). But I like to think what Baggio might have become. That dude was even more seriously injured than R9 before he even started in Serie A. There was literally never a game where he was fully fit, without pain...in what was (un)arguably the best defended league ever (both in skill and toughness, that was Serie A in the early 90's )...and yet he was able to produce so much magic. Imagine- a uninjured, fully fit Baggio with all his skills, technique, ball control, close control, free kicks, corner kicks, dribblings,.... in a today's top team, with better protection from referees, in a position/role of his liking ....easily top 10 of all time. The fact that he is mostly remembered for this one missed penalty(if he is remembered at all) makes me grind my teeth in frustration🤬

I would be surprised if any had smoked at HT either, though that would be just about plausible back in the 50s and earlier) In Italian football, things were far more disciplined (apart from anything else they've never had our boozy pub culture), you could not get away with that sort of behaviour and Baggio seems to have been a very clean living man in any case. But Italy, and according to English players of the time other countries such as France and Spain, did not condone such behaviour at all, and English players going abroad found the fitness and general control over their daily regime more stringent.

@@muhammedalthaf2145 Consistency and skill are two different things, we compare each player with another by what they present during their peak, because sometimes injuries are simply unfair for their careers. Messi is consistent in Barcelona, his form suddenly dropped at PSG and its still barely acceptable. Even Cristiano stopped being the monster he was as a goalscorer. Players like Ronaldo Nazario, Roberto Baggio and Johan Cruyff are much more well-rounded than Messi and Cristiano. Ronaldo has finshing, dribble speed and technique, headers, instant reaction, speed, acceleration, two-footed. Baggio is very similar. Messi simply doesn’t produce the stuff they did (even WITH their career ending injuries). Messi had no major injuries, that’s why he was consistent for 14 years. Cristiano had more serious injuries, and held his form for 15-16 years. But that doesn’t tell which player was better at their peak.

Fantasy and precision in dribbling, passing and shooting. No ordinary dribbling, no ordinary shoot. @@hueyfreeman1983 i would disagree with that frankly. i'm bulgarian and stoichkov's role is a tad overinflated. i'll grant you he scored when necessary but to say he carried the team is a little much. it was not like argentina and maradona. without maradona they could not beat anybody. i would say without stoichkov bulgaria was still a force to be reckoned with at the time with the likes of Balakov, Lechkov, Sirakov - all brilliant players. note the 2nd goal against germany was scored by Lechkov with an assist by Yankov. Stoitchkov didn't figure anywhere in there.
interesting to note that stoichkov's presence on the pitch was hardly noticeable until after '93 and the crucial 2nd leg away match with france where kostadinov scored in the last second of the 90th minute to eliminate france.
i'd say stoichkov got the award mostly because of barcelona not the world cup showing.
also i'm bulgarian - but credit where credit is due and baggio outshined stoitchkov where it mattered and that is the semifinal :)

He just wasn’t destined to be a huge trophy winner, that’s down to luck and fate pretty much, but what he produced football wise with virtually no knees for 20 years is astonishing, loved by all and such a humble person. He is my idol in football and in life ! It’s a shame more football “fans” now don’t know of him ! They just look at numbers and stats and they don’t tell the whole story unfortunately ! I just wish Italy would have won ‘94 with him scoring a winner in that final, that would have been the icing on the cake and we would be talking about him as the best ever with Maradona imo

This video broadened my outlook for Roberto Baggio. Pure genius. Unstoppable. Effortlessly extraordinary. Tremendously skilled. A complete player. Sadly, he is not as highly rated as he should have been. The way he created magic on the pitch at will and in the blink of an eye, is proof of sheer class. Absolutely spellbinding. An angelic beast, if I may. Plus, he toyed with the famous Italian defenses of the late 80s and 90s, which speaks volumes about his supreme ability. My humble respect to the legend. Definitely one of the GOATs for me.
And yes, certainly much better than Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. A few of his dribbles resemble those of Messi but better and more beautifully executed. Fanboys might bash me and curse me for this, but this is what I believe. And this video underpins my belief.

He's just been a great example for me and my generation. No one could blame him for the missed penalty on world cup. He's just undisputed. Only Zidane could compete with his class.
