I couldn't agree more. Over the years of all the complicated shit I've learned I still dread playing something like Box Full Of Sharp Objects. Trying to get those licks clean.. just irritating and the things he came up with were so unique always a blast to play the older songs. I mean even this song.. pretty boring really just some chords.. nice little octave leap thing going on but that's it but then the verse it was the first time I'd ever seen that technique and it's.. so well used. For me it's genius.

His style of screaming and singing was never sustainable, he never really had any technique and it was all emotion. It of course didnt help that he used to drink like a fish and took all of the drugs. All of that means your voice isnt going to age well, especially your harsh vocals.
