Prawn Pakoda - Quick and Easy Starter Recipe - The Bombay Chef - Varun's Getaway

- Learn how to make Prawn Pakoda, Varun's style as he takes us out from the kitchen to his farmhouse in Alibaug only on Get Curried.
Prawn Pakoda is one of the most tasty appetiser for Sea-food lovers. This is a dish of prawn that have been battered in a spicy mix and deep fried.
The recipe to prepare this popular snack is very simple and requires very less ingredients. Do try and post your comments below!
Ingredients
1/2 cup gram flour sieved
1 cup prawn cleaned and chopped
2 tbsp Rice flour
1 small onion chopped
10-12 curry leaves chopped
4 tbsp spring greens chopped
4 tbsp dill leaves
1 tbsp green chilly chopped
1 tbsp crushed ginger garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp. garam masala powder
Salt as required
Oil for deep frying
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt as needed
1 tbsp lemon juice
For Garnish
Deep fried green chillies with a sprinkle of salt
Method
In a bowl add 1/2 cup gram flour sieved, 2 tbsp Rice flour, 1 small onion chopped, 1 tbsp green chilly chopped, 1 tbsp crushed ginger garlic, 4 tbsp dill leaves, 4 tbsp spring greens chopped, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp. garam masala powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, Salt as required, 10-12 curry leaves chopped and mix it nicely.
Add 1 cup prawns, some water and prepare a thick batter.
Make small balls and deep fry them.
Spicy and crispy Prawn Pakodas are ready garnish it with deep fried green chillies.

very nice but never put hot food on any news paper because the graphite in the ink will melt to the heat and can be observed by the food items which is very dangerous.

pakodas are nice but why you use newspaper to remove oil from it its harmful as usual you should use paper napkin.sorry I dont want to hurt you but all people follow you and it gives a wrong direction
Pradnya Chavan absolute rubbish, us brits have been using and still do use newspaper to drain fried food, in fact newspapers are used all over the world for this. No-ones ever been harmed by it. It'd be making headlines if it did.

Actually you added a lot of stuff which is unnecessary, you actually don't add garlic to pakora or curry leaves or dill . Actually you do not add ingredients which overwhelms the actual taste of the main ingredient. So just some onions slight ginger and very very little garam masala along with some fennel powder would actually it make it better . And you will not get that stinky belch like you would if you add too much of ginger and garlic

People in India use newspapers for cooking any fried food cuz cutting the cost plain paper
