What The Heck!! That is the Cadillac Escalade of the dual sport bikes!! I'm still rolling on my carbed 2012 Beta 498 and will run it into the ground. Still, that KTM is a dream bike that most of us mortals won't ever have a chance to enjoy. While I really like your builds, they are for the rich folks with a lot of disposable income.
While that may be true for the bike overall, there are individual parts, components, tricks and set up ideas anyone can adapt to any bike. Even our old carbed 2002 DRZ 400 has some of these on it. Long live the budget bikes 🤘🏽🤘🏽
All very good points!! I did 60mile of slab while in Baja to get back to San Diego and it was very doable! My 501 ultimate build has the cush drive which helps a ton. The Michelin Mousses held up nicely but we kept the speeds under 60mph. The rear brake option is something RTWPaul suggested and wish I would have done it!
Can you remove the reeds without having a tuner? I’ve heard it will make the bike run lean. Cause mine fall out all the time and would love to remove them.
I have a very nicely modded '23 500 of which most of the goodies on it were purchased from you. It's my dedicated BDR bike and it sees some local dual sport use as well. I still have a GSA and I honestly wouldn't mind another middle weight ADV bike just to fill the void. A properly setup 500 can honestly do it all but it's always best to have the proper tool for the job instead of a swiss army knife that's ok at everything but a master of none. A 500 built into a ULW ADV bike is the ultimate BDR weapon IMHO and that's why I put so much into mine to get it setup properly for that task and I absolutely love it.
I injoy your informative vidios and builds. Always great for ideas for upping our bikes. What are long distance riders using to dampen vibration from the pegs? On the 500s
I'm just getting into these 500's. Just great bikes. What kind of range are guys seeing with the larger fuel tanks? We have some loops around me that are 100-140 miles all in the woods.
I wish you guys would do this to a Beta 500-RRS or RR and compare the two. I like the beta has a split oil case, one oil reservoir for crankcase and one reservoir for the clutch and the transmission. It comes stock with a gps already on it with the dash that is readable. It is also lighter than the KTM and it can be customized mostly the same way with US available parts. The parts I have gotten from my 2-stroke BETA from you guys are fantastic. Looking at a street legal from factory to BDR, but looking between BETA and KTM.
You seem to really favor the Motoz Enduro ST for many of your builds. Do you know how the Motoz Enduro ST front compares to the Motoz Xtreme Hybrid front tire? I got the Xtreme Hybrid on the front of my KTM 500 EXC-F and I'm happy with it but wondering if I should get the Enduro ST next when I wear it out. Thanks
Hey Mike, I have a 2017 KTM 450 XC. I have been able to get a tag to make this thing street legal here in Ga, I have raced this thing in MX and Harescrambles but now I'm about to buy the 6th gear kit a make it a little more dual sport capable " now that I have the new 300 2T for my racing needs" I'm looking for a switch that I could run lights and start stop switch to save bar space. Thanks for all the great informative Videos 📹
I have the 2023 ktm exc-f 6-days, i do not use it in a dual sport capacity (road riding) because i feel the service schedules are too frequent for on road riding. Wouldn't a dual cylinder bike have much less frequent servicing, specifically top & bottom ends?
Another bitchin build! How are the lights compared to Baja Designs Squadrons? Also curious if the tower pod gets in the way when riding singletrack. Such a rad looking bike and such an amazing build!
What are you guys using for foot pegs for the tall guys? I have a 36”inseam and I just got a 24’ 500 and it’s cramped. Wishing I would’ve gotten an earlier 500, there’s more options for them but the 24’s are limited like no racks and few foot peg options.
Surely those magnetic mounted phones are going to bounce off in a big hit. I've had my XT2 bounce off on an 80km/hr front end bottom out and now secure it with a touratech lock. The XT2 spring clip was hit so hard it released the device, but with the touratech mount/lock it can't depress.
Pretty much and it's a damn good bike too. I've owned both and I still think the 500 takes the cake overall but the 450L/RL is a very, very close runner up.

Great feedback
We can add that brake system for you👌🏽

Taco Moto Rules!! Another Great Video! Thank You!

Gives us something to think about 🤔

I have been running the ST on the front of my 300 in a myriad of conditions. Very happy with the grip, and wear life seems appropriate too.
Do a Sherco build please, or a few...

Also do you have a recommendation for gearing with 6th gear installed also I have a rekluse if that matters

Shweet brah. Will the dingo wraps fit the Beta 500 forks?
Yes
How does the spark plug ground if the engines aren’t grounded?
Looks like the original display is covered or removed? How can you tell if there is an engine light on?
Nice build. What gearing are you using?
Stock on this one
Str front disc guard vs the p3 carbon front disc guard? Looking to buy one of the two. Thanks!
Str carbon is best protection
P3 is best look
Any rear rack options for the 24s yet?
Email us, we have a few things in the works

If anyone sees me on my stock 500 in dehesa be nice!
Maybe we need a rear brake lever with emergency brake lock.
where do you get these phones?
Hey, no answer?
Does anybody know what graphics those are?
At 7:15 of the video he tells you about the Graphics👍
There are created in house at taco moto
Pretty penny.
Honda DID keep putting R+D into the XR650 bikes. It’s called the CRF450RL!
Pretty much and it's a damn good bike too. I've owned both and I still think the 500 takes the cake overall but the 450L/RL is a very, very close runner up.
@@texlee1640 I own a 450RL, but I’ve ridden a few 500s and they are amazing machines for sure.
