Good video. Just some updates. 1 zone ticket is $3 now, there is an extra $5 at YVR, so $8 altogether. ($7.40 if you have a compass card (plastic))

Very informative. I went into this video think, yeah, I know how to buy a ticket and take the train. After watching I now know I would have somehow messed it up and ended up god knows where. Thanks.

Thank you for posting this video.
When traveling in the Translink buses, does the driver automatically stops at every bus stop?
How do I let the driver know I need to stop to let me out at the stop, is there a button you push? In some countries buses have a cord you pull, how does it work in Vancouver?
Could please post a video about how use the bus system?
Does people board in the front and leave through the back? I also heard that elderly people like seating in the front of the bus and that there is an unwritten rule that you have to give up your front seat for an elderly person. I friend of mine got pushed by a senior citizen when visiting...not nice

Hello! I am going to making a video on the Vancouver transit system as well soon.
On the buses, the driver does not stop at every stop, you need to either push the button located on some of the poles in the bus OR pull the cord located along the windows. Once you do, the STOP sign will light up on the display near the front of the bus so you know that it worked. The bus driver will then stop at the next stop. Stop names are shown on that display as well.
Generally people board in the front and leave through the back. There are a few bus lines (usually long buses) where you will see people board on every door, just because of how busy that line is so it's faster to have everyone get on at once. You'll know which buses those are because other people will board at every door. Just follow what other people do.
Usually the front of the bus is where you would let elderly or people with disabilities sit because then they don't have to walk as far to the back of the bus where there are steps and they can potentially fall - so this is a safety concern. So, you are allowed to sit in the front, but if you see an elderly or someone with disability or someone with a stroller (use your judgement), and you are physically able, then please give it up for them. I'm sorry your friend got pushed, that shouldn't happen normally. Hope this helps.
