  • This video explores the notion of working PRN as a new nurse, and why it is not a wise decision. As a new nurse, it's important to gain experience and build your skills. Working PRN, or as needed, may seem like a flexible option, but it can actually hinder your growth as a nurse. Without regular exposure to patients and cases, you may not be able to develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.

Yeah i wouldn't help a PRN new grad with less than 4 (arbitrary number) yrs experience. I see this nonsense all the time these new nurses come to me with all their issues that a more experienced nurse would have the experience and knowledge to handle on their own, just adding to my work load while getting paid more than me. You're on your own. Go to a MS on tele floor gain experience and then you can go make your money as PRN/Travel/ICU nurse, ik you listen to influencers who told you different but unless the staff really knows you (ie you were a cna on a particular floor and became a nurse) then the staff will be more patient you cause we're familiar with you, but if you new and to a new facility don't come to me
