I'm so glad I saw this. Been a Ray Price fan for 50 years, but found Junior only recently. Junior Brown is the most underrated total entertainer in the world!
I'm such a Ray Price fan. I sadly missed my chance to see him in Branson as he cancelled last minute for health reasons and passed soon after. I'm 45 and was going by myself as no one my age had heard of him. Junior is great too.
I'm sorry you missed him, I was at his last concert and I'll be honest, it was he like he knew this was his last one, even the band and his son were like Wow, where did that come from. It was excellent. I'll never ever forget it. There are some younger Ray fans out there and it will be up to you all to keep his music alive.
@@jeriw I saw Ray live several times in the early 70s at Ponderosa Park in Salem, Ohio. My dad was the biggest fan. I was just a kid, but I got to see so many great artists there. It's gone now. 😔
@@waybackplayback1347 I only saw him twice but my mom loved his music which stayed with my entire life and finally I won my husband over to him also. I saw him in 2011 and I was at his last performance in 2013, and I got to hug him. He was one of kind.
If you weren't looking at the video, you would swear this was recorded 40 years ago. Ray's voice never changed, maybe a tad weaker, but still masterful.
+fish doctor I was at his last concert on May 4th 2013 and it was still good. He was weak, but his voice was excellent and he finished the entire show. One I will never forget it.
Two of the greatest country music singers. Ray always had the BEST musicians around him. Junior really sang beautiful with the master. As for the Millennials, good luck. mos60
BROTHER TRUTH You could tell Junior was a little nervous being up there with Ray as most other artists were. But Ray was such a down to earth person, he could make anyone feel comfortable.
jeriw He will be missed. Marty Robbins was great too. Ray reminded me of Sinatra, and Marty reminded me of Elvis. It is neat how music over laps at times.
TexasJim1956 Well at least we have vinyl records to pull out and actually still have a record player. We lost that great fiddle player Johnny Gimble a couple days ago, not many of our legends left.
Yes,Johnny Gimble was a personal favorite of mine. Very sad indeed. A true Texas fiddler who played with so many of the greats. I do miss his sweet fiddling.
Great song from 1965 written by Phoenix, Arizona songwriter DON ROLLINS.....his other BIG hit was writing George Jones Classic....THE RACE IS ON in 1964
I wonder if this was Austin City Limits? They did sound great together. To Mr Fish Man, I wonder if he ever played on Louisiana Hayride in Shereveport, La in the early days. I've heard my late husband talking many times about seeing Hank W. Faron Young and a young Elvis performing there but I don't recall him seeing Ray Price. He's also seen them at the old Rhyman in their early days. We saw many together in later years at the newer GOPand happy to see them. We do have some great artist that have kept to true country but the majority have not. Sad but True. I lost all of our old vinyl records due to the 2016 flood that devastated parts of La. As well in other places I'm sure many have lost items that cannot be replaced but we are happy and thankful to have our lives which is the most important.
I saw Ray twice. Up by Buena Vista,Colorado in the summer of 2004. Ray also with Merle and Willie in Loveland,Colorado in 2007. I remember Merle playing a fiddle with a big smile on his face.
It would be like Jr. to mess around with the lyrics, he usually sings in a flat Earnest Tub style voice. Ray just seems happy to have him there. I saw Jr. in Australia a few years back and the guy really is a musical genius.
What an absolutely amazing treat to have these 2 legends singing country music the way it should be
To all the Millennials who think someone can just slap on a cowboy hat and call it country.... THIS is real country music
Very true, it's called Class.
@rebelfrom1944 well said......This is country & it's golden!!!!
Hey im a millennial but my father played with all of them 😎 im a honky tonk man 😎
I'm a millennial and grew up listening to this
THIS MUSIC MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I M GLIDING OVER THE FLOOR IN THE ARMS OF SOMEONE I LOVED...
Junior Brown, you need to cut a tribute cd to Ray Price songs. You have the perfect voice to pull this off.

Ray price and junior are two of my favorites. I Wish country was still country like ray price.

+jeriw He was one of the greats I always wanted to see. Guess he never made it to Louisiana.
I listened to a lot of Ray Price over the years and I believe his voice improved with age. Not that it was bad to begin with.
More than "a tad", but Ray was known for his loud singing early on. His artistry came with age.

Junior is great in his own right. I bet he was honored to be up there with Ray.
BROTHER TRUTH You could tell Junior was a little nervous being up there with Ray as most other artists were. But Ray was such a down to earth person, he could make anyone feel comfortable.

BROTHER TRUTH both my favorites. Two Great voices.
Imagine how nervous the pedal steel player had to feel, with Junior Brown in his presence!
To have Ray sing that tenor harmony behind you doing his song is priceless. Good on Junior.
Ray and junior perfect good great country classic music
We are slowly losing the truly great country artist. Guess we'll pulling out the vinyl records to remind us what great music sounds like.

Ray Price the MASTER
This is true Country Music!!
Ray Price Approves, who am I to argue🤷♂️
Great Job!
I haven't seen Junior in person but I would love to. He is great.

Yes, ACL
A special treat for us 😊

I hate when they don't know or change the words to a song.nicely done. One of my favorites of all time.
Great Job
Ray Price. Texas Native American.
Csodálatos volt.
Köszönettel.
junior and Ray sang pefect
SUCH A PLEASANT VOICE.
Fantastic......
Well you know where Junior gets his influence from lol. I love Junior and Ray!!!
Junior sounds just like Ray!
Juniors voice sounds like Ray Alot !!
Ray is caught smiling a little when Junior messes up on the lyrics.
It would be like Jr. to mess around with the lyrics, he usually sings in a flat Earnest Tub style voice. Ray just seems happy to have him there. I saw Jr. in Australia a few years back and the guy really is a musical genius.
Awesome, Needs more "Gitsteel" though.
It looks like the great Bobby Flores is standing in the back playing fiddle and some harmony on this???
I watched a little closer, don't think Bobby is singing, just playing fiddle.
junior brown is cool
This is from Austin City Limits Show around 1996. Ray cut this record and was a big hit.
Junior also does a spot on Ernest Tubb.
Steve Palousek on steel guitar
Wow
It is a shame the audio and video are not well synced in this clip. It is a little hard to tell who is singing what.
is this an 'austin ciy limits' taping?
OLe Junior should learn the words, did anyone notice Ray Smile at Junior not knowing the words? or maybe Junior was a little tipsy.
Jewel, I suspect Jr. was really nervous, not everyone got to sing with the great Ray Price.
@@jeriw Most likely so, Mr. Price is someone to behold, no voice better.
Yes, my impression was Junior was a little intimidated.@@jeriw
