As someone very familiar with Wella, I just wanted to throw out a little information if anyone wants to use these as proper toners. The numbers are going to indicate the tone of the color with the first number being the primary tone (typically a 70:30 ratio). 1 is your ash tone. 2 is what Wella calls matte, which is green and helps counteract red tones. 5 is their red, which would counteract green tones. 6 is violet, which helps with your yellow tones. 8 is pearl, which is blue, and that helps counteract orange tones. And lastly, 9 is cendre, which is a softer violet tone!

Love that!! 🖤 also a reminder to everyone reading this, every hair line has a different meaning for number/color combos. Make sure you look up what the numbers mean for the color line if you’re not sure or there aren’t swatches available 🥰🥰

@@TT_in_the_253 you're actually right! /8 tone is bluish. And the /6 fine is more pinkish violet, so /86 is cooler than the reverse😉

These colors are amazing and are gentle on the bleached or if someone has naturally really light blonde hair. I use them a lot on my bleached and blonde hair clients and I have never had any issues with them. Definitely my go too for pastel colors. I was always a Wella user, until something odd happened with my hair, I used to drink heavily and now I stopped I used to be able to color my hair with Wella and get great results, well the funny thing a little while after quitting drinking I tried to dye my hair again with Wella and it doesn't work anymore!! I even went back to the store try different shades and nothing, no more lift no color change!! It is truly odd, a hairdresser said she suspects the hair has gotten healthier so it doesn't want to lift anymore, so I have to change dyes😒sigh...

I did it! 😃used t16 on my entire head ends are sparkly white and mids and roots that were that classic raw mix of yellow and orange ( the lighter and the darker lol) and it’s now a super nice “70s cult blonde “ lol it’s slightly ashy slightly sandy. I used a 20 vol developer like you suggested and it’s totally worth the lift and the iridescent-ness. def lightened some of those darker oranges a bits. The ends that were pale yellow are now so sparkly white I love it thanks so much for the vids u did in these ! First time toning ever !New fave

Thank you for making this vid! I searched everywhere to find an example of these and couldn't find any. In the past I've used T18 and T14 to get silver/white but it's been about 8 years. I've never tried the 20 developer with the Wella toners but you're right about the 10 developer. It did have a tendency to make the silver grey come out dull. After having my natural hair for too long I've started feeling the itch to color again. I bought a couple boxes of the T69 Pearl Gray. I like those shiny iridescent pearl blondes but all they had was a Pearl Gray in Wella toners, which like your vid shows doesn't seem to have grey at all. It looks more like a rosy pinky pearl. I didn't want to blindly put color on my hair like when I was younger lol so I've been testing swatches of my hair with different colors. I've got other wella colors like 9ng, 9n, 8n, 7n, 10gv. I was thinking of mixing those to get a blonde sandy color. Figured to try the Pearl Gray first because that's going to be easier to cover than a gold blonde if I end up not liking the Pearl Gray. As a former goth girl in my youth I feel the strong pull to go for different colors but then the "normal" side tells me just to play it safe with blonde. Last night I bleached my hair with Quick Blue and tried the Ion Bond Booster which saved my hair but I'm going to have to go over it again because the booster seems to have affected the lightening process. Thanks again!
