@@zenichiworks3637 hmmm... Combining a gyroscopic stabilizer just under the seat and a set of spring shocks connecting the seat to the legs should make the ride smooth as butter. Theoretically you could then lengthen the legs to increase speed and add stair climbing ability now that the legs can tilt while the chair remains upright.
Wow! What an opportunity for construction! Especially in handicap bathroom stalls! The electricians will be busy too upgrading the cross walk signs! This would be a perfect meat grinder!
It could technically go faster but it means the legs have to move just that much more which i fear would end up damaging them. if the legs were bigger they could take longer strides but that comes with its own set of issues.

You could integrate springs into the legs that push the legs down. this would decrease the peak stress on both the legs and the motors and should increase performance.
Hi I'm from Trinidad. I love it. Pal I give you the most highest credit in making technology a profit. That's an original hit. Wow that's what you can submit. And That's the spirit. Please make it a tutorial. Make more mechanical. I always love mechanical👍
Its called a strandbeest mechanism amd its basically just simple shapes that have a complex movement. Theirs multiple variations which is why he's able to turn it around instead of it going one way
Not sure how much but it can go uphill so long as the grade increase is smooth and gradual. There are wheels at the tips of each foot but they don't spin very freely and are just there to make sure the legs don't catch and scrape on the ground.
Needs lights so it’s not darkwad material, and the pilot needs a steampunk outfit to really pull it all together... Otherwise, totally the coolest thing I’ve seen so far burn wise❤️
NewNick so far I’ve got it to go about 2 miles. Right now I have two red top optima lead acid batteries but they’re normally meant as a starter batteries so I think they don’t like being drawn constantly like deep cycle batteries would be. I’m planning on going to lithium next.
Zachary Bittner I’ve sat a 260 pound person on it and it worked but it didn’t like it so i think the limit is 200. I donno how much it affects performance.
Zenichi Works I would love to see it’s energy efficiency compared to an equivalent platform on wheels. I bet it’s pretty comparable. Have you done any more work on this or improved the system since this video?
NOW thats something the TechPriests of Mars would use in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Walking is so.... pedantic. We need something extravagantly over the top and mechanical.
on a condensed timeline probably not much more than a few months but in reality this all happened over the span of about 2 years. most of the work is all last minute panic as an event comes up like burning man or maker faire.
I made it. It will be at Burning Man this year. I camp with Gigsville which is on the 3:00 side. I'll probably update details of where exactly i'll be on my project page at playacrawler.com
Thank you!
Oh boiii
Its you
Henlo
Hello
thank you for the plug!
Perfect method of transport for a super villain.
For sure.
For a Physically Challenged Villain...So inspiring :,)
Could be a villain or just a character that is unusual like lives in a complex house with many kinds of turning gears and machinery. Some fantasy settings have characters like that.
Mojojojo vehicle
Dr. Loveless approved.
This is amazing. How much bumpier is the ride compared to a regular wheelchair?
Hugo Cornellier much bumpier.

@@GuukanKitsune or if we're lengthening the legs, we could simply add wheels
@@inspiredau5878 the point is to NOT be in a wheelchair.
And wheels would also make it unable to manage stairs, in the manner of wheelchairs.
@@GuukanKitsune all the motor function in this video doesn't assist your imagination to imagining wheels that can raise and lower?
This dude was ready for last oasis years ago, what a champ
THe original artist made the first concepts 30 years ago or so
If I was ever wheelchair-bound I would get myself that thing lol
Anyone else get recommended this after playing Last Oasis
Gamer G33k yep lol
Legs on that look nearly the same as Last Oasis walker's, except this has more.
Me too
Last Oasis didnt invent this kind of work. An Artist named Theo Jansen did. Look his stuff up on youtube
I was just about to place a comment with Last Oasis xD
When you're playing Last Oasis too much
Hahahahahaha xd
Ahahha
true
Dr. Arliss Loveless would be so envious.
Beautiful job, be glad you have a couple of mills handy.
You'll never catch me Krabs, not when I shift into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE
Waka Waka underrated comment
Nunca me atrapada Congrejo, no cuando tengo MAXIMA POTENCIA
Wow! What an opportunity for construction! Especially in handicap bathroom stalls! The electricians will be busy too upgrading the cross walk signs! This would be a perfect meat grinder!
Insane work, like something out of a post apocalypse movie. If it went faster then a whole lot better
Awesome
It could technically go faster but it means the legs have to move just that much more which i fear would end up damaging them. if the legs were bigger they could take longer strides but that comes with its own set of issues.
Mark Ellis *You sir, you're creative ;)*

Why? Isn't the whole point of this mechanism is that the legs are moving in a straight line. I.e. not pushing up. So adding springs would not do much?
Can also use it in the garden to rototill and then pant seeds - just hang a seed bag on the back. I love it!
I can't tell you how cool that is.
They should put this in a movie
They are gonna!
Wasnt it already in Wild Wild West? :P
Mad Max: Scurry Road
Mad max 😆great job ! Ingenious!
Work of an absolutely demented genius.
look up a man named theo jansen
this is super creepy and cool
Wonder if you could put a solar panel on the top double as shade
Nice walker dude
So steampunk. I love it!
Nevermind the Got Chair .. this is innovative and creative ..very cool.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing this with us.
beautiful design

Perfect for the waiting line at the DMV!
Can you put wings on it? Or is it like the Spider Walker?
Its called a strandbeest mechanism amd its basically just simple shapes that have a complex movement. Theirs multiple variations which is why he's able to turn it around instead of it going one way
I think it's generally called the Jansen Linkage but otherwise you're right :)
Increible chair good job guys😉👋👍
Great work
Wow if this can go up stairs somehow, would be great as the new dr who. Davros Dalek chair !
Does it go in reverse?
Great work! What's the total cost of materials and work? How much time spent working on it?
So awesome...mind if we share this across our social channels? With a link back to you, of course.
I mean....LOOK AT HOW *FLUID* THOSE LEGS ARE!
yknow what? That is a steampunk fantasy come to life. I can see a villain using something like that
excellent work
Fantastisch, besser als Rollen!
Ja warum einfach-wenn es kompliziert auch geht
Damn this is awesome
Wow man that CNC drowns it with that white liquid hahaha compared to your little splash in the beginning ;)
Stunning model man!
7:20 holy crap thats a lot of coolant! 😱
8:28 *The Fremen will go after him, he's stealing the Spice*
Superb!
Wheel chairs are evolving
That is a badass wheelchair... or should i say CRAWLCHAIR?
Ok I'll leave now.
Crawlerchair
Legchair
Thank you
What sort of gradient can it handle?

That thing definitely weights a ton.
wonder how many torque batteries it takes to run that thing... 8P
The only issue I see is the seat more be to far back. Would love to see how it does on inclines.
This is the kind of vehicle a genius would make in the apocalypse despite the fact wheels are easier to make and are more efficient
Great! Where do I get one?
best last oasis walker
is this going to be an commercial product, and if so how much would it cost?
Really impressive work
Where do I buy the steel drum one at the beginning??/?/?/?/?
You are my hero!
Last Oasis devs:
"Write that down write that down"
Hey man, I just came here to say, I love this. You got a sub!
Is it as practical as a wheelchair tho
Shut
Dry Saliva wheelchairs cant go trough sand tho and this shit just looks way too cool
This is awesome! :D
How long will it walk(?) until the battery is out of energy?
NewNick so far I’ve got it to go about 2 miles. Right now I have two red top optima lead acid batteries but they’re normally meant as a starter batteries so I think they don’t like being drawn constantly like deep cycle batteries would be. I’m planning on going to lithium next.
Mark Ellis how much weight can it lift and how much does it effect performance?
Zachary Bittner I’ve sat a 260 pound person on it and it worked but it didn’t like it so i think the limit is 200. I donno how much it affects performance.
Zenichi Works I would love to see it’s energy efficiency compared to an equivalent platform on wheels. I bet it’s pretty comparable.
Have you done any more work on this or improved the system since this video?
it would be sick to attach some pedals and bike chains to make it human powered.
The last remaining excuse for leaving the chair was to top-up my Doritos and Mountain Dew... Consider me chair-bond for life now.
NOW thats something the TechPriests of Mars would use in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Walking is so.... pedantic. We need something extravagantly over the top and mechanical.
why is it needed? are wheels not good enough?
How long did it take you in total to make?

Mark Ellis pretty Damm impressive if you ask me
What brings you to Yagrum Bagarn, last of the Dwemer?
What other projects you got going???
The Rube Goldberg Machine of Wheelchairs.
wait. who made this chair, how can i know when and where they will be if they go to white sands again? i want to see this chair in person.
I made it. It will be at Burning Man this year. I camp with Gigsville which is on the 3:00 side. I'll probably update details of where exactly i'll be on my project page at playacrawler.com
I want this to replace all wheelchairs, the to make the world or more interesting place!
This is seriously cool mate! Can't wait to hopefully see it in person on the Playa!! Where do you camp, Mobility??
nah this isn't a wheelchair replacement. it does much worse than wheels. it just looks cool. I camp with Gigsville which is on the 3:00 side.
This reminds me a bit of the 1960s American TV show called, "The Wild, Wild West".
Perfect for shredding your enemies whilst you take the air.
Efficiency: about zero. Complexity: about yes. Exactly as I like it
Leg movement reminds me a deers leg movement seen those animals all the time
It sounds fantastic, clackediclackediclack
I don't believe for a second you designed this in SketchUp say sike right now
This man is preparing for war
This is amazing
Where do I get one?
I can build you one... for money!
Put one of these on a mafia-style leather chair and you’ve got yourself a deal friend
Your nearest cnc machine...
What is the use?
You just need a few more steampunk arm attached to it and some greebling on the back and it's done
This is great but the simple wheel is way more efficient.
The Crawler is a pretty good name, I would like to suggest, 'Hephaestus'
I hope they ad this walker in the last oasis
Fantastique !!!!
7:01 I expected that hammer to squeak
Why?
CAD model?
It's the steampunk wheelchair from Wild Wild West!
Should be in a fantastic science film
What kind of Fuel does it use?
Guy who tries to get a Life two 12v lead acid batteries
Mi idea es sin gasolina totalmente mecnico me gustaria compartir mi idea con tigo
No one:
TH-cam: look here is walking chair
Here before it get viral
So dang cool! I want one lol
This is some Star Wars level shit right here.
Last oasis walkers are possible... we just need to make a giant one
