hearing you guys talk about Switch 2 leaks as former employees feels like the closest we'll get to how these conversations actually go down at the Big N. Very informative but also very insightful. Keep up the work you guys! You two are probably one of the few voices of reason amongst Nintendo creators I'll take seriously give your backgrounds as industry professionals and former Nintendo employees
My friend isn’t as tuned in as we are with these things, but even he showed me the Genki video on tiktok with millions of views, and he thought it was an official reveal. That’s something I think Nintendo probably reallyyyyy didn’t enjoy.
Never forget how people thought the Wii U was a controller add-on without looking up the actual video or doing any research. People are so easily mislead by other fans into thinking things that aren't true.
@@elfsong713yeah but nintendos own reactions would tell you, that, this is basically what the hardware will look like. Just like with the switch lite and no one believed that, but then it ended up being the exact same. This isnt like those fake videos where people make crazy renders. These are 3D Prints people are holding in hand and some real models. Its legit
In a period where gaming news that's genuine and non click baity is rare, thank the both of you SO MUCH for still being around. Y'all are my go to right now, i missed watching y'all.
I hope so. The were SO MANY leaks for Months now about the new switch. It's tiering, it's rude towards the company and (if there are switch 2s on the backmarket) it's a breach of contract. So yeah, heads will roll and I can't fault Nintendo. I'd be mad and petty and seeking revenge too
I'm not too bothered by all the alleged leaks. From the start, my expectation was that Switch 2 was going to be a more powerful switch. This isn't a GameCube to Wii situation or a Wii U to Switch situation where you drastically changing up what you are doing.
That means it's a N64 to GameCube situation, basically the same thing but improved. And that was decidedly a bad decision, because the PS2 squeezed then out of the market. If they're making the same mistake again here, there's no shortage of portable hybrid competitors out not that will "PS2" Nintendo out of relevancy again. Sad to see a foolish mistake like that.
@@dablindscooter1973 I don't think that's comparable, because the leap between the NES to the SNES was making leaps within the graphical power of the game industry as well. The SNES offered unprecedented power that also enabled revolutionary games. The Switch 2's graphical power has already been accomplished before. On its own terms technologically, outside of the handheld aspect, it's completely iterative. So, I think it is more akin to the N64 - GameCube transition.
@@dablindscooter1973 nes to snes saw ABXY LR buttons, save functionality, revolutionary graphics improvements. Not only a huge power improvement but many new gimmicks.
This is what I love seeing on this channel I absolutely love behind the scenes stories. this is what makes this podcast so unique. This is the only podcast where I’ve never missed a SINGLE episode
I’d love more stuff like this. I’m sure there were very interesting things that came up in the making of big games, I’d love to know some more about dev challenges that teams ran into, or ideas that got scrapped, etc
Yeah ive just recently gotten back to there channel and my have they grown, and not being under NDAs and being able to share information, though not really sensitive info, but very informative as to how nintendo as a company runs is sick. Really great insight as to how nintendo thinks and basically lines up into how any real nintendo fan, would think they operate.
But in this case, it's obvious that the leaks come from manufacturers, since it's all about the hardware. Basically nothing about the features or first party games games have leaked, literally the only two games we have heard rumors about is a new 3D Mario, and Mario Kart 9 just because of a special edition. It's basically clear that what happened was: some of these accessory manufacturers went to a factory worker like "Hey buddy, 5K if you leak some of this stuff to me", that's basically what the Genki guy said. So Nintendo has done a really good job of keeping their stuff under wraps, their only mistake is that they just waited too long to reveal it, which made factory leaks inevitable, if they are doing an internal investigation on this they are really stupid.
Exactly this! We don't even know what that C button does yet but we are very much aware it exists. All things considered Nintendo still has a lot of surprises to show us about the console. How many of these we will see on the first reveal trailer we will see, but I expect any additional trailers/presentations to showcase many more surprises for us to enjoy.
Yesss definitely is what I heard happened. There is no point harassing Nintendo employees when everyone online is saying it's a manufacturer who leaked it
Agreed, Nintendo is too slow revealing the new Switch. I love the Nintendo ecosystem but sometimes it feels like they are out of touch with the community.
So many rumors and leaks about Switch 2 have been circulating basically from the launch of the original Switch. I think, in the moment, it may feel like it will cause a negative impact, but once everything is revealed, those feelings will dissipate and everyone will forget until the next console cycle begins.
The biggest issue boils down to Nintendo's lack of communication with its consumer base. I guarantee that most of these issues would simply be resolved if they just communicated more often. As a consumer, this was something I felt that they were WAY better at doing, especially between the Wii - Wii U era with Reggie and Iwata. There was a sense of community and bonding between the corporate side of Nintendo and its consumers that simply just doesn't exist anymore. Then they just went full corporate mode after the Switch launched, and stopped interacting with their audiences on a more personal, interactive level. This was something Nintendo was known for as a company regarding interactivity and bonding being important to the brand and their games, and they just... stopped. No more E3, no more skits, WAY WAY less Treehouse hands on previews, etc. Now it's just small blurbs with developer interviews that aren't even in a video format, tweets about online tournaments that nobody tunes in to watch, and complete and utter silence from what's going on behind the scenes. I think Nintendo WAS able to say "we are different" back then because they were doing this smaller stuff out of passion, not product. And it showed. A LOT. I'll never forget the Star Fox puppets, the Robot Chicken skit, or Reggie VS Iwata in the E3 Directs. Nowadays, they just fall in line with every other gaming company and how they are perceived by the overall gaming space and its audience, and I think that's sad. They need to course correct the narrative.
I agree completely. Reggie and Iwata made Nintendo have a different feel back then. Corporate Doug Bowser and his team pale in comparison. Nintendo feels like a Corporate Japanese company stuck in the 90's who still can not wake up to the fact that things are so different now. It worked great then but you cant keep doing the same thing as times change. No one should feel bad that Switch 2 leaked, if proven correct. They had plenty of time, and delayed it too long. Nintendo is a very spiteful company in some ways, they will not like any of this as Krysta mentioned They might even pull the Trailer back tomorrow because of that leak, who knows.
I understand Nintendo being upset, but I couldn't be more excited. I couldn't care less that it leaked. That won't change the fact that I have wanted this console for years. These are exciting times!
It's their own fault for not revealing the console yet. It's been going on 8 years since the last Nintendo console. I don't think we've ever had this long of a wait between Nintendo consoles before.
I don’t think that the mass market or general audience that comprises the vast majority of the Switches install base are following the news and rumors and leaks surrounding the Switch 2… Most will just learn about the system once the official marketing kicks in.
And the general era of opinion will be negative as a result of these leaks, which those people didn't watch... They won't investigate why it's negative... They'll just be told. We have seen SO many products get rinsed before release like this. Don't pretend this behaviour doesn't reach mainstream users because it absolutely does.
They are seeing this, I hear videos of the Genki render have millions of views on Tik Tok. The way you're talking about this was true in like 2012, where gaming online wasn'T nearly as big as it is now.
I asked my friends, who are gamers, if they knew about the Switch 2 leaks. 1 of like 5 of them said they saw something that there was a leak but didn't know what about. I think as people who follow this closely it's been a train wreck, but I imagine the general population doesn't really know much about it.
I can confirm. I got burned out on gaming leaks a long loooong time ago (fake gen 6 pokemon "leaks" to be exact) so I just do not pay attention anymore. I'll hear about it when the official channels have something to say.
Imagine finding out your coworker was the one who added all those piles of extra work on top of what you already had to do by leaking stuff. That person would be getting seething passive-aggressiveness aimed at them that I didn't even know I could muster. Literally from the depths of my soul and mind. 😂
There's something special about the actual reveal video. Obsessing over all the details, having it all confirmed. And watching our favorite youtubers and podcasters react to the final reveal. I don't think the perception of the product will be meaningfully worse. Sure pure surprise is nice but I don't believe it drives expensive purchase decisions like a console. I'm sure that's blasphemy inside Nintendo, but just as a normal fan/consumer perspective, that's my opinion.
It was really interesting how you guys related your experience to this situation and I remember watching you guys on Nintendo Minute on my 3DS XL back in the day and it must feel good to be able to really speak your mind on this
It’s also annoying because when we have the real announcement people are gonna be upset because “its stuff we knew already” and it’s gonna affect the public reception of even those who didn’t know of any leaks
I love your videos so much! Because you have the privilege to be able to talk about Nintendo by experience and not as an outsider, so it gives us an insight of how a Company like Nintendo handles this type of situation.
Krysta mentioned this in the last video but I'm legit hyped for you guys to experience a fresh new Nintendo generation for the first time in decades. Looking forward to exciting times ahead and sharing those moments.
Mass-producing the console beforehand does have its disadvantages, and this was one of them-it was foreseeable. They should have revealed the console in October, then had a Direct in January or February, followed by a May release. That way, they might have avoided a lot of issues. But they simply waited too long. Still, of course, we’re all hyped.
Agreed. I think that reveals should be around the time that mass production begins in order to negate this risk from occurring. It seems like a better plan than simply delaying the announcement for as long as possible. The fact that mass production began several months ago and Nintendo was expecting it to go off without a hitch is pure hubris to me.
Agreed. Just as Kit & Krysta tells us in this video, Nintendo has a fairly big head in the sand when it comes to their own mindset on how the issues with leaks can't possibly happen to them, because they think they are so special and different from every other company. Fact is, Nintendo have been too arrogant into thinking they have more control than they have. Every single company has to deal with stuff like this. Nintendo isn't special on this regard. If they just revealed and properly announced the damn thing back in October or november, this would never have happened. I saw so many insiders who warned that this would happen if they delay the reveal further and look and behold! Switch 2 has become the most severely leaked console in gaming history. This is why you reveal the thing before or shortly after mass manufacturing. Idiots.
It's naive to think the higher ups at Nintendo were too naive to anticipate supply chain leaks. A low level employee take TBH. Waiting this long was an explicit choice, not an act of procrastination. Whether it was a mistake remains to be seen.
I think these leaks will absolutely impact the reveal if it’s a simple introduction to the system. They’ve blown out of such proportion that it’s even beyond core fan communities now. There will be a lingering “that’s it? We knew that already” feeling if we see not even a glimpse of a game
@ ok? There’s still millions and probably majority of the people buying this thing either barely use socials or don’t use them at all so that’s gonna happen but in a 150 mill + user base that’s not even a drop in the water especially since genki was proven to be bs
As I said many times before: when the console is just a slightly bigger and stronger switch- there isnt much of a "suprise" to be had with Nintendo announcing it themselves. What Nintendo better put their money and time in now is making GOOD trailers - as a pc gamer, ps5 and switch owner - I have no need to rush and pick it up on launch if the launch titles arnt impressive, especially exclusive to Nintendo. Bragging or talking about 1000 ports coming to Switch 2 does nothing for a "gamer" like myself.
15:00 I just find the whole situation so funny... Genki is literally getting nothing good out of this. They're only gaining a little bit of momentary press attention, which will soon enough turn into scrutiny because of the way the handled it AND it won't translate into sales because, as you've mentioned, they're not endorsed or partnered with Nintendo in any way. They don't have the Nintendo Seal of Quality on their products. If someone is going to buy third party accessories, everyone is just gonna get Hori or Power-A. And they will NEVER get it after this whole fiasco. WHO really thought this was a good idea at the company, it makes no sense! I can't fathom this whole display got greenlit.
This is my perspective on it. I think because they leaked what the Switch 2 looked like, now when people think of accessories people will at least think of Genki because of what they did. Concerning it not having the Nintendo Seal of Quality, you're absolutely right, but if they can make it cheaper than those brands than I think that 95% of people who buy those accessories won't care.
That "Nintendo Magic" reveal will dampen the leaks and rumors. Seeing the circuit board/chips is not special, 3D cgi mock ups are not exciting, accessories products are not for everyone, and speculations of new features are just that until confirmed or debunked. How awesome would it be if N took it tongue-in-cheek and acknowledged the rumors in their reveal.
Okay, the more yall continue to post, i really love this unfiltered Kit&Krysta, i love yalls insights on this switch 2 stuff as ive jumped back into yalls channel. Great job yall.
It’s very funny hearing the comments about leaks on the announcement reaction video despite never knowing there were and and then scrolling back through the channel to see this.
As long as they have a trailer similar to the switch one (the oct. One) I'll be happy. Show the console and some features and some gameplay in the background. If Prime 4 is shown at all, even if it's just the corner pixel of her visor, I'll be even happier.
I was so out of the loop, I didn’t even know there were any leaks until after the reveal when I started looking into more info lol I’m glad I was oblivious and didn’t have things spoiled for me
As far as I'm aware, nothing of substance has leaked, though? It looks like a regular switch, with a 2 by the name. That's all we got. There's a huge amount of stuff we don't know.
Well, and the power of the hardware, generally. They'd be more concerned about how they can stop leaks, rather than what is being leaked. None of the launch lineup has been leaked, so they're doing that right, but when it gets to hardware manufacturing in large numbers, there's things they can improve.
Well and we know one of the Joycons can be used as a mouse as well as various hardware features and we apparently know that the C button is responsible for all the social aspects of the system.
I’ve watched all your videos, all official Nintendo statements, industry analysts, etc. Absolutely nothing has convinced me that Nintendo wouldn’t have been better off with a brief, Switch 2 teaser trailer last October.
It's just an inevitability when you outsource manufacturing outside of your country. If the switch was manufactured in Japan, they would be able to stop the leaks
Yep. I can't fault a company who can't rely on manufacturing a product meant to be sold worldwide in a country that has nowhere near the capacity and capability to meet that target. China is one of the only choices for that. I think companies need to start thinking more wide and contribute to the world at large instead of themselves.
I still don’t know how people are still denying these leaks are real. Multiple sources, information that has stayed consistent for over a year now, and the final nail in the coffin, Nintendo themselves responding to the leaks. As a Nintendo fan I knew there would be leaks and I would know about them, but so much has leaked that I’m just waiting for a launch date now.
Nintendo said they will announce the Switch successor by March 31, 2025. People need to calm down and just wait. If it was past March 31st and they still didn’t say anything then I can understand being angry or upset. But for now they are still on schedule

Nintendo forgot that internet will be the biggest leaker of all. Shipping data, patent details, social media , podcast, accessory maker and of course our friendly youtube gaming content creator. You just cant escape it. Maybe NDA or at least give the date or progress
Nintendo should re-evaluate their decision to hide information from their fanbase. When the leaks came out, the Big N could have started talking about the successor to the Switch to prevent the leakers from getting all this attention. The fact that we haven’t heard anything about their plans just made people crave for any information-authentic or otherwise-and helped spread the leaks. Of course, Nintendo should acknowledge that leaks can potentially happen and in my opinion, they should be more transparent about the development of their next generation consoles. Look no further than Tears of the Kingdom. Eiji Aonuma addressed the Zelda fanbase every once in a while with updates to the game’s development that even if leaks did come out, people still appreciated the official announcements from Nintendo. It would make more sense to anyone that the company is now ready to release their next generation system because of the number of years that the Switch has been out. Telling their customers that they have been working on a new product only makes sense instead of keeping things from them. It’s only really common sense-the more we hide stuff from people, they more they crave to know that secret and would do anything to know what that is. In a nutshell, that’s what’s been happening for quite a while now, not just with the recent leaks, but ever since there was talk about the Switch 2 several years back.
They probably aren't as mad as you think! If they were truly mad, we'd have heard of internal leaks about how mad they'd have been! Remember how mad they were when piranha plant for Smash Bros was leaked on firemessageboard(I forgot the actual name) and then internal leaks were revealed about how the team at Nintendo working on Smash Bros were furious and everyone thought it confirmed other leaks but the actual one on the message board? This to me proves they aren't actually mad! Because we'd have heard about it months ago!
I’m not trying to be mean to Nintendo, I’m sad it leaked, they held onto it for a very long time and their strategy was ripe for this to happen. I’m more surprised they seem surprised.
A whole year ago, you could feel the excitement for a new switch building already (honestly it had been building since '20 with the rumors of the switch pro.) Nintendo just took a little too long to reveal and the excitement and anticipation built to the point that the dam started cracking and you got some leaks. I personally don't think this will have a real huge impact on the reveal. If anything this got the hype train building and moving before Nintendo even started the engine.
It was funny when Genki tried to backtrack by saying "no, we did all these from leaks"... Dude, you made a 3D render video where you show exactly how the detachment of the Joycons work, that didn't leak, you had to have to console on your hands xD
If they were just more transparent, and talk to the community, give foresights about what to look for, bits of details here and there so satisfy fans curiosity and let them know things are on the way and advancing smoothly or are having setbacks, we wouldn't be having this issue in the first place...
Nintendo Switch also kind of leaked. We saw like pretty detailed pictures before the January 2017 marketing blow out, but there was a huge difference in that case. The huge difference being that the actual reveal was in October of 2016. Judging by the pictures we've gotten I think they're going for a way shorter reveal to release.
I think at this point, I hope Nintendo has re evaluated their reveal because if its just "heres the thing, more information and games later" thats going to go over kinda poorly. We've waited SO long and already know everything about the thing at this point that a quick and short "here it is" isnt going to be satisfying.
I remember with the OG Switch, images of dev kits started surfacing, but no one knew for sure if they were real. We had the patents show up, rumors of a portable/home console fusion machine among other things, but it didn't get spoiled completely and I was blown away with the reveal. At that point, I don't think it was in mass-production yet. I don't know for sure, but I would say that this time, since there was an apparent internal delay because of a game that wasn't quite ready (rumor), the hardware was already being manufactured in China, and we all know what happens when factory workers in China have a new hot item in their hands.. it gets leaked. Maybe if not for the internal delay, we wouldn't know nearly as much. Just a thought.
I remember that time. There weren't enough leaked information to fully understand and determine what "NX" was at the time, so when the official reveal occurred pretty much everyone got blown away. Me included. I enjoyed that time a lot but for Switch 2 I just want it to be Switch 2 so I'm very glad that's exactly what we will get. My favorite console.
At this point, I’ve learned to take all the leaks with a grain of salt (no matter who the source is). I see the leaks and I’m like, “if that’s real, that’s pretty cool.” That way, when they finally reveal the Switch 2, I’m excited for whatever is there. Either we get exactly what we are seeing which would be pretty sick, or it’s something else entirely and that would be fascinating.
With the first Switch I think it would have been a much bigger deal if it had been leaked to this extent because that was a truly revolutionary concept that we never would have imagined... but somehow I feel like with the Switch 2 it's really not as big of a spoiler. We pretty much already expected that it would be a better handheld hybrid with a bigger screen, improved Joy-Cons, more powerful CPU/GPU, more RAM, updated Wi-Fi, etc. What I've seen in the leaks isn't really surprising, other than the U shaped kickstand that can also be flipped up and used as a carry handle, was not expecting that. We still haven't had any of the first party Nintendo games spoiled or leaked, that I know of. So I'm fine with things as they are. I'm sure the reveal will still be exciting, seeing the actual games running on the new hardware, maybe the home screen, other software features, etc.
as a consumer. THe way I feel about the leaks that have occured is that it actually made me even more excited about what is next for nintendo switch 2. I skipped the OLED model, but I am 100% intending to purachase a switfch 2
Thank you for the insight guys! I'd love to get into marketing for a company one day and hearing how leaks affects employee moral is such a interesting topic to talk about.
I think because it has taken so long to get a successor that's more powerful which should have come out 2-3 years ago already just makes many of us inpatient. Therefore we are hungry and what do you do when you're hungry? Well you start searching for food... Anyways on how so much has leaked, well a common theory is that an MDA has ran out which implies that there has been an delay making everyone involved frustrated. Letting others to let out what they have
A lot of tech companies can feel like they’re free from consequences because they’re special. Kind of a corporate mindset. So I can definitely see Nintendo convinc8ng themselves that stuff won’t leak…without a plan.
In my opinion, leaks are working in Nintendo's favor 😄When there was still little known about the Switch's successor, people speculated that it would be a completely different and powerful console that would have some surprising gimmicks. People were even talking about two screens etc. If such rumors had persisted until the day of the announcement, people would have been disappointed that the new console is simply a Switch but with more powerful components. Thanks to leaks, moods have calmed down. Besides, it's not the console that's most important, but the games - and those are closely guarded by Nintendo 🙌
@@thereturners7564 Yeah but you've also got to think about what they said at the end about how much stress leaks put on the employees at the company. I'm just some random fanboy that has been waiting for this for several years (provably at least since August 6th, 2021). I don't want to cause harm to the company or anyone that works there.
Oh yeah, I have had online discussions with people claiming these leaks are done by Nintendo themselves, that Genki is not in trouble for anything, that no mainstream consumers are looking at the leaks so there's no problem, and ultimately Nintendo doesn't care one bit about what's being leaked because it only generates more buzz around the subject for when the reveal actually happens. It's so good to have people who actually worked at Nintendo telling the public those views are full of crap!
i feel like yall hit the nail on the head. its a different time, leakers are smarter and have far more sources/resources than they even had 5 years ago, let alone 8. ofc nintendo software and hardware has leaked before, i feel like even before 2020 there was a massive influx in leak culture within nintendo spaces, so everyones rushing to get the next scoop on an upcoming project and spreading it everywhere. like this is getting to the point where its not just a few hundred people in a discord server discussing smash roster leaks or a forum with maybe a thousand users. there are mainstream media outlets covering this now.
NS2 was needed in Dec 23. They sat on this and continue to sit on it even as the leaks continue. A game and the UI is about all that is left. Well past time to show the console. I hope game footage gets out at this point if they don’t show something tomorrow.
I do kinda feel that nintendo shot themselves in the foot by waiting way too long. Even just a simple acknowledgement that it's in production would've tied us over until they were ready
So first off all of the leaks were out of China. I'm sure they don't mind hiring an investigative team to figure out what happened and they should. Another thing is you think about how they handled the security behind that NSO play test some time ago. I mean if that says anything about security awareness, they've got a lot of work ahead of them. But that aside I could understand why they want that element of surprise that's been so fun about Nintendo, But honestly technically this is the best marketing that they can't even pay for. The marketing and hype that they're getting from these leaks right now is something you can't buy with money. If I were a Nintendo I would be happy that people are so excited and so stir crazy for the successor that they're willing to break into anything and do anything to get information. I mean did they really just want nobody to care. Imagine that nobody cared and so nobody asked for leaks at all, because the ambition just wasn't there not excited to see some switch 2. I know for the short-term they have definite issues and they need to fix those issues as far as security, however in the long term this is nothing but good stuff. And they know that their fans are like this I mean look at how they handled tears of the Kingdom as they trickled clues and put them out as riddles to be solved about how the lure would go in tears of the Kingdom. I mean this is literally what this was. Their fans investigated and investigated and investigated to try to figure out what this new system was going to be. And when everybody found out just nothing but elation and conversation and people are talking about it. I could imagine even Nintendo is stunned because they didn't spend a dime for this. They're sitting there doing what they do and they got a crowd right outside Just waiting for a system that never even was announced. It's got to be a little awkward. I feel like it would be good for them to accept it and to take it for what it is, people love Nintendo. That's what all this is all about. So yes they have work to do but they should not be negative about this because everything is on up and up. But I do think that if there's expectations and that's getting out of control they do at some point need to come out and start talking. That's one of the issues I could imagine and another one is maybe that they're having a hard time delaying if they need to delay because of all the leaks. And hey it's a hot spot to be in, such a global demand if you think about it. I mean video games is a very popular medium seems to be beating out Hollywood at this point, these guys are going to be like rock stars this time around. I hope they're ready It could be possible that their whole lives change.
I would hate to work on an amazing piece of hardware and have some accessory manufacture leak a prototype design. I would hate to be the person who pulled the trigger on that decision, completely ignorant of Nintendo's culture. What do you _mean_ Genki isn't even a partner? Oh wow, that just makes things so much worse! That company is so green if they don't understand Nintendo's reputation for reveals - second to none but Apple! And they don't understand why the industry doesn't show products at CES anymore, which seems like an additional layer of offense because CES historically treated video games so bad the vg industry built its own trade show(s)! This is so scandalous, and I feel like Genki has no clue what they have done.
As an artist, I just keep my nose down and have avoided pretty much all the leaks - a picture or two but I quickly look away. I think Nintendo needs to make sure to show some games with the reveal. We've scene the hardware but not software to go with it.
I mean, what else would they call it? Anything else would probably be confused with the OLED or Lite. That was part of the problem with the Wii U, just sounded and looked like another accessory. I hate the name too but it makes the most sense in a way.
What you said near the start about them thinking ‘we’re special’, BOOM, that’s what I’fe been saying for a good long while. We saw that ignorance with the playtest last autumn on full display. The fact is, they’ve stalled announcing this thing for too long, cut it too close, to avoid leaks of this severity. They could have doled out bits and pieces over the course of last year, revealed it formally in the autumn like they did with original Switch, but they didn’t. Now, here we are. They got overly confident and it’s bitten them in the ass. 6 months from now, all of this hopefully won’t matter to the overall situation of Switch 2.
What do you think about the fact that there are two variations of CAD renders that leaked? OnLeaks render matches one that leaked back in November, with a few differences from Genki and the others.
We'll definitely be surprised and impressed. I've got no doubts. Especially people who assume that we "know everything" even though it's actually far from being true.
This has happened forever. It's just during the Wii U era, too few people cared lol. We already knew what the switch looked like, it's tegra chip, the hybrid concept and even had the announcement date leaked during the NX days.
I've wondered if the announcement was pushed back or something? It seems weird that so many accessories manufacturers managed to have enough access to make prototypes with no NDAs. Is it just the console factory being leaky?
Reminds me of when Capcom kept the SF x Tekken dlc characters on disc. They refused to acknowledge that people would datamine the game because "it's illegal."

If you have been paying attention, you know that these developer and fan made renders are not official, but the casual viewer won't know that.
Never forget how people thought the Wii U was a controller add-on without looking up the actual video or doing any research. People are so easily mislead by other fans into thinking things that aren't true.
I have the opposite example. A friend of mine who likes nintendo, and even works with games, had not seen the leaks.
I seen some so called leaks and they were all click baits so i just dont watch and believe any at this point.
Its legit
It was Doug Bowser. He leaked everything. His name is Bowser. It’s pretty obvious who leaked the information.
In a period where gaming news that's genuine and non click baity is rare, thank the both of you SO MUCH for still being around. Y'all are my go to right now, i missed watching y'all.
Once it’s revealed no one will care that any of the leaks happened.
Exactly, haha.
I was thinking that
Exactly! It’s just internet stupidity. It’s ridiculous.
Nintendo will care and it’s gonna suck for the leakers
@@jerotoro2021nah, i think its more of NES to SNES
@@dablindscooter1973 I don't think that's comparable, because the leap between the NES to the SNES was making leaps within the graphical power of the game industry as well. The SNES offered unprecedented power that also enabled revolutionary games. The Switch 2's graphical power has already been accomplished before. On its own terms technologically, outside of the handheld aspect, it's completely iterative. So, I think it is more akin to the N64 - GameCube transition.
They still need to try and offer something at least a bit interesting
@@dablindscooter1973 nes to snes saw ABXY LR buttons, save functionality, revolutionary graphics improvements. Not only a huge power improvement but many new gimmicks.
This is what I love seeing on this channel I absolutely love behind the scenes stories. this is what makes this podcast so unique. This is the only podcast where I’ve never missed a SINGLE episode
Agreed! This type of content always makes me so excited.
I love the Nintendo ecosystem but sometimes it feels like they are out of touch with the community.
i mean games and event dates get leaked as well. (even tho most are fake and some arent fully accurate)
I watch you guys in middle school on my 3ds. (I'm 21 now) This is nostalgic!
All grown up!! 🥹
Agreed. I care a lot more about how we’re finally gonna have a new console generation (the games are more excitement than the hardware anyway)
We don’t even know if any of them are real
It's their own fault for not revealing the console yet. It's been going on 8 years since the last Nintendo console. I don't think we've ever had this long of a wait between Nintendo consoles before.
Yeah IKR! Same here and I find it tough to trust the leaks, especially now. I just hope we will have a good lineup of games to begin with the Switch 2
The way Kit said "bye" right at the very end just
got me (16:57)
scared and laughed at the same time
fr lol
lolol
So Kit just confirmed that these leaks are only happening because he and Krysta aren't there anymore. Gotcha!
I don't see flaws in his logic.
@@RuuyGyou're delusional. There's billions of people jn the world
I asked my friends, who are gamers, if they knew about the Switch 2 leaks.
Do you think the leaks will negatively impact your perception of the Switch 2 once it is officially revealed by Nintendo?
Not at all. The leaks will mean nothing unless the reveal proves them right.
Absolutely, If the leaks are right
I just want them to take my money. I need one for my wife and one for myself. Very excited for what's to come.
Nah, they’re a flash in the pan
Thanks! Love hearing this types of insight.
Thank you so much for the superchat
It was really interesting how you guys related your experience to this situation and I remember watching you guys on Nintendo Minute on my 3DS XL back in the day and it must feel good to be able to really speak your mind on this
The only good video about Switch 2 leaks. Great insight and useful. We need more videos and people like this.
Ive heard the word leak so much I actually no longer like the word.
Yep, the teaser trailer was release this morning. April 2nd will be the Nintendo Direct.
OMG I USED TO WATCH YALL IN THE NEWS APP ON SWITCH IN 2018. I REMEMBER WATCHING YALL PLAY SNIP A CLIP
I think these leaks will absolutely impact the reveal if it’s a simple introduction to the system. They’ve blown out of such proportion that it’s even beyond core fan communities now. There will be a lingering “that’s it? We knew that already” feeling if we see not even a glimpse of a game
I’m sorry but most people don’t even know these leaks exist so I don’t agree that it’s beyond the fandom it’s definitely not tbh
@@Gamingcollector123 the genki renders have MILLIONS of views on tik tok

@trianguloid so what 😂. It's a small fraction of Nintendos sales.
@@trianguloid really small amount of people know they exist and those people will buy it regardless
@@BlazingShinxThey leaked nothing, they just faked it, that's all
That "Nintendo Magic" reveal will dampen the leaks and rumors.
I was so out of the loop, I didn’t even know there were any leaks until after the reveal when I started looking into more info lol
I’m glad I was oblivious and didn’t have things spoiled for me
As far as I'm aware, nothing of substance has leaked, though? It looks like a regular switch, with a 2 by the name. That's all we got. There's a huge amount of stuff we don't know.
Yeah, and those are things that anyone could guess anyway.
You guys are always so pleasant and authentic, love coming to hear your thoughts whenever there’s big Nintendo news
I’ve watched all your videos, all official Nintendo statements, industry analysts, etc.
Absolutely nothing has convinced me that Nintendo wouldn’t have been better off with a brief, Switch 2 teaser trailer last October.
omg how did i not know Kit and Krysta had their own channel!! really cool to get your insight on this
It's just an inevitability when you outsource manufacturing outside of your country.
I’m starting to think we ain’t getting a reveal this week…
Please don't say that 😭😭😭
Well.. it just got revealed.
Thanks for walking through the leaks and the process! 😮
WHO TALKED??? WAS IT THE UNCLE WHO WORKS AT NINTENDO???
The real question is whose uncle who works at Nintendo?
I still don’t know how people are still denying these leaks are real. Multiple sources, information that has stayed consistent for over a year now, and the final nail in the coffin, Nintendo themselves responding to the leaks. As a Nintendo fan I knew there would be leaks and I would know about them, but so much has leaked that I’m just waiting for a launch date now.
Nintendo said they will announce the Switch successor by March 31, 2025. People need to calm down and just wait. If it was past March 31st and they still didn’t say anything then I can understand being angry or upset. But for now they are still on schedule
Does everyone think Nintendo will give us a one day notice for the reveal? Multiple days? Worried about this alleged Thursday date

Is that why Alarmo was released a short time before the Switch 2’s production? Because they wanted to evaluate the climate around hardware leaks?
I don’t understand what’s taking them so long to reveal this damn thing
Nintendo forgot that internet will be the biggest leaker of all. Shipping data, patent details, social media , podcast, accessory maker and of course our friendly youtube gaming content creator. You just cant escape it. Maybe NDA or at least give the date or progress
The only issue with leaks prior to reveals is that it destroys hype, the element of suprise, which can indirectly hurt the makreting of thier products
I just hope we finally get an achievement system
Woahhh so cool to see you guys have a TH-cam channel! I remember watching yall on Nintendo’s channel when I was like 12. Definitely tuning in
Nintendo lawyers are already in a room with Kit & Krysta interrogating them about leaking how Nintendo handles leaks.
Plot twist: Sakurai himself did the leaks to promote Piranha plant and all paid DLC.
Bring back StreetPass and Miis Nintendo!
It was funny when Genki tried to backtrack by saying "no, we did all these from leaks"... Dude, you made a 3D render video where you show exactly how the detachment of the Joycons work, that didn't leak, you had to have to console on your hands xD
Oh yes. They absolutely have the console. No doubts about it. Only one more day until the official reveal.
Idk, I still think it'll be exciting to get news on its new functions and how the system experience will be like
I mean.. If i was Nintendo, I'll be annoyed and agitated too if leakers were constantly leaking info without my consent!!!!!
My favorite console.
great video. I love to hear the insider info from the pros!!!
Leaking how nintendo reacts about the leaks is really something else.
I want to know how Nintendo reacts to the reaction to their leaks being leaked
God bless you for having me purchase the Master Sword straight from Japan. It arrived all the way to my door in Stockholm (Täby) in perfect condition!

The irony that Mario is a plumber but couldn't prevent the Switch 2 leaks
The difference is scale. They are ramping up production for a quantity of nearly 8 figures. Its hard to keep that level.of production under wraps.
Well now I feel bad for running the Switch 2 Subreddit.
Sarcasm? I wouldn't. The games never leaked and I think that's the most important card Nintendo's got and they're still holding it. Love the sub, btw.

So you're leaking how they react to leaks
Yikes!
I do kinda feel that nintendo shot themselves in the foot by waiting way too long. Even just a simple acknowledgement that it's in production would've tied us over until they were ready
No it wouldn’t have, people are obsessed with this thing! The comments section any time they post on social media is a total sh/t show!
I REALLY hope Nintendo don't call it the "Switch 2" they've never had a numerical convention for any device. Or most of their games honestly.
I mean, what else would they call it? Anything else would probably be confused with the OLED or Lite. That was part of the problem with the Wii U, just sounded and looked like another accessory. I hate the name too but it makes the most sense in a way.
Have you forgotten DS, 2DS, 3DS?
as soon as they decided to proceed with mass production without announcing/revealing the system the leaks were a natural consequence.
This is the most intesting insight yet, regarding Nintendo! Thank you guys!
Great insights. Also, good practice of Nintendo to be information driven.
I've wondered if the announcement was pushed back or something? It seems weird that so many accessories manufacturers managed to have enough access to make prototypes with no NDAs. Is it just the console factory being leaky?
I was hoping you would make a video on the pokemon data leak too
Reminds me of when Capcom kept the SF x Tekken dlc characters on disc. They refused to acknowledge that people would datamine the game because "it's illegal."
