Raven is getting a six issue mini-series in September that is part of DC's Rebirth comic line. The series is being written by Marv Wolfman, the creator of the 80's run of "The New Teen Titans".
I love Raven so much she is one of if not my favorite DC character I discovered her through the cartoon and found the comics and she gave me someone to relate to with my depression

one of the reasons why i like raven so much more in the comics than in the cartoons is because in the cartoons, they portray her as someone who doesn't express emotions and is rude because that is just her personality. in the comics it shows that she actually has emotions and is a very sweet and caring person and she only holds back her emotions because she has to, in the cartoons she is an emotional blob without explanation
Teen Titans did good with it. There were subtle times when you can see she wanted to show emotion, but quickly stifled it. Her birthday pretty much explained it all. The day before her birthday, she actually shows emotions, she was being nice, tried cooking pancakes(burnt, only starfire liked them lol), took them out for a nice stroll, willing to play stank ball(lel), her and starfire do their nails... But Trigon came a lil early. Slade came to give the message to Raven. Her powers boosted, They got to fighting, later, eventually on down the line, she told the crew about herself. They understood, scared, but stood by her. They all defeated Trigon. She sort of kinda showed some emotion, but tried to hold it back. Teen Titans Go! is the one where she's a depressing blob for seemingly no reason. And at least they ship Raven + beast boy, and Robin + Starfire with a wedding scene.
i found a butthurt who collect his info from indirect sources rather than look it up and also the comic version is an isolated mental person and doesn't trust the others while the cartoon version have a deep feelings for her friends and she's really emotional when something happen to them so who's the idiot now
That's why in my headcanon I and my friend call them Young Titans because some of them were not teens and because of that the name was moot. But still I love this series and especially Raven
I adore Raven! I love everything about her. I even wrote an essay on Raven for a college superhero class. Got an A on the paper and teacher told me that I really understood her and the daily struggles she went through. I am currently working on a television pilot based on her character. There have currently not been networks that have wanted to pick it up, but I'm ultimately planning on pitching the concept to Amazon Studios.

She'd express how much she cares for them and then they'd still call her creepy and a witch? Cough cough lookin at you Cyborg. It just bugs me that their friendship could be so easily swayed sometimes. I guess I'm just used to anime friendships. Where your friends are your power. And loyalty has no boundries. (Well I mean in shounen anime)

You are aware that very few changes have been made to her outfit. At best they just seemed to have gotten rid of the helmet and added a buckle belt and a brooch.
The only reason I shipped them in the cartoon in first place was only because they already strongly hinted it a year prior in the 2003 comic run! It was more than canon up to Titan #100! :) ...and than like Dustman said The New 52 happened.

I loved the character they made her as in the movie. I did not really like the awkward "Raven and Robin" thing, but I don't think it was geared toward a romantic sense, more of a friendship and and vulnerability thing.
Well i prefer Raven to be the absolute badass she is. I don't want to see her date Damine (like really). I want Raven to be complicated and a charaxter that keeps things ti herself. This means she doesn't just date or even trust ppl so much. She is unapologetically truthful and matured. She should be a strong female with a great mentality.

I first saw raven in one of the old comics cause my mom has a brunch stashed in a box but I didn't really know who she was until the tv show so I love videos like these which help comic fans know a character's history better.

Raven and Zatanna are my FAVORITE characters in the DC universe. the new 52 did not make any justice to their lore, origin or personality what so ever. i think story about mysterious magic and demons are something good for both Raven and Zatanna to have some issue revolving an allegory for the romantic image for mental illness. This would be a great idea.
+Sheila Blouin you had several serious characters team up with zatanna. but not alot who come from the spectrum of dark arts themselves. even in those cases it could be a basis for an interesting development.

Ok, I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but I really like the relationship between Damian Wayne and Raven. I know that everyone ships Raven and Beast Boy, but we’ve seen that everywhere, and Damian and Raven have so much more in common, plus it can make a really good gothic romance story.
I would read that comic if she was an allegory of how mental illness is romanticised by teenagers. It's very true, i've noticed so many of my friends say that have anxiety, depression, OCD, etc. I think Raven is perfect to represent how bad that is especially when people say it, when they don't even show signs of it.
Emo. It all started with emos. Glorifying depression and cutting. Scars shown off like losing your V card. Myspace with the sad profiles about being alone. FB Posts about triggering anxiety and ocd, and the "sup yall I'm depressed who's with me?" Look how perfect and neat this room is....ERMAGERD A PENCIL IS CROOKED! In some areas mental illnesses are becoming cool. Criminals are being treated better than seniors, vets and even kids. Get made fun of for being Patriotic. Kids are off limits to sex with adults(obviously as they should)...and now with each other in some places; yet the clothes get shorter, skimpier, more revealing, ads more suggestive using using kids in adult situations...and it's seen as normal? Severely obese is being the new cool and "healthy", don't fat shame them, but thinner is seen as bad/unhealthy, while anorexic is now body shamed. Did we get knocked into some kind of alternate Nega-Earth dimension where almost everything is the opposite of what we knew?
Does it bother anyone else that in Blackest Night Titans Beas Boy forgot all about Raven, kissed who he thought was Terra, and then when it was all over, forgot all about Terra, went back to liking Raven, and everyone just acted like nothing happened after that? And does anyone else feel like his sudden change in feelings was majorly out of place? And does anyone else wonder where Raven was during that time? And is anyone else confused about when this took place in relation to when Beast Boy and Raven left Titans, and retuned to Teen Titans? And is there anyone out there who can explain any this to me?

Based on the images of the Teen Titans Rebirth and having seen the Teen Titans vs Justice League movie it seems like the new Raven will be similar to the TTvJL version. A sort of mixture between the animated version and the pre-flash point version.
Okay now that I learned more about Raven I want a Comic Crossover between Raven and Hellboy. Both of them have there uuumm... Supernatural Family Problems. They are very different Characters but I think they still could fit very good together. With Hellboys Adventurous, careless and sometimes aggressiv Character mixed with Ravens apathetic Character that would be really Great. I don't really know what I want from them maybe they try to beat some Reality shifting demons or something but I would really love to see a Interaction between the two of them.

Well, Raven can take jean out easy, even starfire could. You're looking for Phoenix Jean.... Both of them being fully powered, no fucks given.... Power vs power, Raven; but Phoenix putting up one hell of a fight. Jean would probably be banished to another realm, especially after the first time she hatches from an egg, depending on if it happens within Raven's lifetime. Not sure if Phoenix can hop dimensions on her/it's own. Plus the hope that Phoenix Force doesn't leave Jean just before she's cast throw the portal. If so, then match can still go on. Hory crap, Imagine the Universe bending and obliterating being Raven fully bonding with Phoenix force would create! Overall, I would think Jean/Phoenix would win. Even though both have been shown to respawn, you have to have a ritual to revive Raven. Jean hatches from an egg. Hawkeye was fighting robots with a bow and arrow, none of this makes sense.

15:15 I can relate so much. Raven reminds me a bit of myself. I have aspergers so emotion is viewed as a huge deal. It don't like when kids treat illness like a trend because I doubt they would want to go through it.

Ok, I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but I really like the relationship between Damian Wayne and Raven. I know that everyone ships Raven and Beast Boy, but we’ve seen that everywhere, and Damian and Raven have so much more in common, plus it can make a really good gothic romance story.

I would read that comic if she was an allegory of how mental illness is romanticised by teenagers. It's very true, i've noticed so many of my friends say that have anxiety, depression, OCD, etc. I think Raven is perfect to represent how bad that is especially when people say it, when they don't even show signs of it.

Severely obese is being the new cool and "healthy", don't fat shame them, but thinner is seen as bad/unhealthy, while anorexic is now body shamed.
Did we get knocked into some kind of alternate Nega-Earth dimension where almost everything is the opposite of what we knew?

Does it bother anyone else that in Blackest Night Titans Beas Boy forgot all about Raven, kissed who he thought was Terra, and then when it was all over, forgot all about Terra, went back to liking Raven, and everyone just acted like nothing happened after that? And does anyone else feel like his sudden change in feelings was majorly out of place? And does anyone else wonder where Raven was during that time? And is anyone else confused about when this took place in relation to when Beast Boy and Raven left Titans, and retuned to Teen Titans? And is there anyone out there who can explain any this to me?

I found this video because I was coding with react and redux and i was trying to see if there was a way I could store the history object in global state so that it could be accessed outside of the router, and I when searched for this on youtube, your videos appeared. I saw something about Raven from teen titans, remembered that I loved teen titans when i was younger, so I watched. Anyway, good video, now back to coding. We probably won't meet again though. I had JUST started reading 'Titans' online
Based on the images of the Teen Titans Rebirth and having seen the Teen Titans vs Justice League movie it seems like the new Raven will be similar to the TTvJL version. A sort of mixture between the animated version and the pre-flash point version.
The New 52 version sounds interesting as a short "What if?" series, but yeah not as a total rewrite of the character.

Okay now that I learned more about Raven I want a Comic Crossover between Raven and Hellboy. Both of them have there uuumm... Supernatural Family Problems. They are very different Characters but I think they still could fit very good together. With Hellboys Adventurous, careless and sometimes aggressiv Character mixed with Ravens apathetic Character that would be really Great. I don't really know what I want from them maybe they try to beat some Reality shifting demons or something but I would really love to see a Interaction between the two of them.

Plus the hope that Phoenix Force doesn't leave Jean just before she's cast throw the portal. If so, then match can still go on.
