Benny Goodman was and always will be remembered as the "King of Swing." This was one year before he went to RIP, his swing music is still unsurpassed. th-cam.com/video/lcCZZ3l9tBo/w-d-xo.html
Same lol I can see why he got bored of this music. Technically it's good, but it's just so uninteresting compared to the rock and roll of the '50s, and it's even worse when put against later rock music.
I'm just reading a book about the filming of the great American film "All About Eve". At one point during filming, Bette Davis and Gary Merrill were filming a kissing scene, and when the shot was complete, they simply continued zealously making out until the director, Joseph L. Mankiewicz, shouted "Cut! CUT! This isn't Swing and Sway with Sammy Kay!" And that's how I discovered Sammy Kay.
My grandmother, who was born in 1908, loved this music. ❤
My resident at the nursing home said this to me one day while I was dancing for her and I had to look it up ❤️Rip Joanne❤❤
