A fantastic expansion IMHO, just great it doesn't change the game play, just adds a little simple extra and keep it a gateway game, We always play with the 2 exta Medals in the Middle for everyone to grap, so if you are Lucky you can Win 4 Medals. Love this extra flavour! This expansion kicks op my rating of 7WA to a 9, excellent!
I do like what the Medals add to the game, but it’s not worth $24. After hearing it doesn’t fit right in the original box, I just printed out the Medals myself and got the rule book from BGG. That’s all I really wanted from the expansion anyway. The 7 original factions give more than enough variety, especially with my usual 2-4 player group.
I wish that it came with real medals, or at least something less cheap-looking than it does. I also think it's a little overpriced at $23 US, but I still bought it because my non-gamer wife and younger kids really enjoy the base game and this expansion will add a few more decisions and increase replayability.
I recently got Architects for our larger game groups as the original 7 Wonders has too big of a learning curve with a large group and a variety of skill level. So, I may need to add this expansion set. Since there are two more wonders could it possibly be used for up to 9 players? Maybe there’s not enough cards to support that many players and wait times could be too lengthy. I’m looking for options for a large group that is a gateway game and not a party game.

I like it, it's nice to have an expansion that doesn't add loads more rules to what is a good entry game.
It does the job, just not a massive one.

I don't think there's enough cards - also that's a ton of time to wait for your next turn even in a fast game like this.
You forgot to say about the advance mode 😂 The one where you can add 2 medals to the centre and all players can go for them.

My challenge would be whether it actually adds anything that makes it more enjoyable than the base game. It sounds like it probably doesn't.
It definitly does, IMHO. You don't want your neighbors to collect the Medals, Try to stop theme.
It makes it a little more enjoyable, but it's not a giant impactful change.
I opted out for this expansion because of Rome's ability would not suit our gaming group.
Not to mention the components don't fit in the original box, with the limited space I can't hold a spot JUST for an expansion.
