Henry's hooked another future gyro driver! 😁

Yeah she had a blast. She's well travelled and I'm sure she won't hesitate to fly in one somewhere else!

Hahahaha.... I love the zoom-climb on takeoff.
I do similar with some of my passengers. After unstick, I tell them that we don't have the airspeed to climb-out and that we need to build our speed low to the ground. Then, when I have sufficient airspeed, I ask them if they are ready to climb out. The longer it takes them to answer, the faster we go, and the faster we are going when they respond, the more they tend to squeal on climb-out.... usually followed by an evil chuckle from me.

It's definitely an exciting move to someone who's not ready for it!

Yes! It was her very first flight in a Gyroplane!

Quick question for you. When you gave her control of the gyro, you had her take the stick with her right hand. With the throttle and other controls in the center, between the seats, wouldn't the pilot in the left seat use their left hand on the stick?

There's a linkage that you can install for the left seat that will let you use the throttle with your left hand but since this was her first flight we wouldn't introduce throttle control yet.

Me being a fixed wing pilot, I am mostly used to flying with left hand on yoke or control stick and right hand on throttle and other controls.

Why is there so much movement on the stick would track and balance improve that?

Fine tuning the rotor balance would eliminate some of that. It's visually more disturbing than it is felt.

@@AdventureAir- Interestingly, I find that stick-shake is felt MORE when the hand is off the stick because it is translated through to the frame of the aircraft. With the hand on the stick, it is somewhat damped.
I agree with you that it is more visually disturbing than it is any kind of impediment to precise control.

Nice gyro. I'd think it would be worth some effort to get some of that stick shake tuned out of it.

Procedure for change of control was not very professional!
