Your lesson is so great! I am learning several languages at the same time and among many alphabet + pronunciation guides across different languages yours is one of the best! Danke schön ❤
I actually find it really useful, I took 5 online courses during COVID times, and none of them provided such clear and concise content. thanks for taking time into this.
Yes! I understood instantly in German my name is. No fumbling to translate from English to German. I understood instantly. I skip around with others with numbers and letters and colors, but to understand instantly those three words of introduction, my first understood tiny sentence coming automatically is a breakthrough for me. I understood the order, the tense, I’m even able to say it. Not bad for only three weeks. Sounds tiny but it’s big for me. It took months to learn how to introduce one’s name in French and Spanish but catching on quicker in German.
@@yourgermanteacher I will. Had to look the second sentence up for the meaning and it had how to pronounce it with voice and I repeated it perfectly. But I knew the first two words! Dank!
As a Turkish speaker, I find the "r" sound the most difficult of them all. In Turkish, we make a noticeable r sound with pressure like in American English. Thanks a lot for the video. It's very beneficial.
Thank you, coming from Arabia, I can find any letter difficult to pronounce, as we have all these sounds and more, I find it more difficult to pronounce some complicated/ long words though but will get there and I m looking forward to my German classes next week, German will be my 6th language 💪❤
The umlaut vowels are the most difficult for me (native English speaker with near-native fluency in Italian-I teach university level Italian) to pronounce and the 'r'. I really like your teaching style and general energy. You are very engaging.
Vielen Dank. Das freut mich. 😊👍🙏 I agree, 'Umlaut-vowels' and 'r' are definitely not easy at the beginning. But I can assure you it definitely gets a lot easier once you learned German for a while. 🙂👍🙏
@@yourgermanteacher I'm native Spanish (latin america) and not having much difficulties on vowels pronunciations, they sound very close to Spanish variants (with some exceptions to be honest)
Hallo! thank you for these beautiful video, they are helping me break the ice with this language that i have always wanted to learn. This video was very fun, the fact that i am fluent in both arabic (mother tongue) and french, made it so much easier for me to pronounce the hardest letters and sounds!
very well done. loved the examples and the clarity. subscribed (i’ll follow the a1 playlists this year so i can learn german to talk my gf’s native language, so thanks for the help!)
as a person who is very intrested in learning the german language, i find this very useful. ive looked into your other lessons, you as a whole are a very good german teacher, so thank you for taking the time to help people like and unlike me. :D
I just found and I love your channel!! I just would love to find videos like this in my language spanish, but well it is good that I can also speak english. Thank you for your clear explanation!
Hello sir, your lessons are very helpful, but I don't know which video should I watch first because all the videos aren't numbered / don't have any ordinal order. if you please give me an outline in order to know and watch them step by step, it would be so useful for me. thanks
Knowing French and Portuguese make some letters easier to pronounce, like the "R" is very similar to the Portuguese one, which the ä, ö and ü are sounds that are really similar to the French ones! :)
Hallo! Firstly lots of love from INDIA and a very big THANKYOU, for you've been helping a lot of people who really wish to learn German and trust me you've been making it as easy as one can! Aber, ich habe eine Bitte: When do we say the 'R' from the epiglottis and when specifically not ? z.B. rot, Brot, rauchen, Bruder, sprechen (from epiglottis, I simply learnt this from watching a lotttt of your videos, by just observing your pronounciation) und Tochter, Mutter, Vater, (just general like English and not from the epiglottis). However, what about the other words : Richtig, schrecklich, tragen, brauchen, treffen? What about them? How does one identify in which words 'R' is to be pronounced from the epiglottis and which don't? Any tips? :( I really really am looking forward to your help!!:):) Vielen Dank!
Hi 👋 In Germany "r" as first letter of a word or in the middle is rather a soft sound that doesn't involve the epiglottis much. In Switzerland you might hear "r" pronounced a bit harder with somewhat more involvement of the epiglottis. When "r" is at the end of a word it didn't involve and epiglottis at all. Maybe this video here also helps a bit. th-cam.com/video/nI77g2VWysE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4-bx-FtzH50jivow 👍🙂🙏
Hi there! I think that the most difficult word for me is the number "zwölf"! The numbers are fine at the moment, but im dying with the numbers haha, could you please help me to get a better pronounciation? Also, thanks for this fabulous video! 10 out of 10
Hi 👋 One way to practice pronunciation is to just repeat after us when you watch our videos. And yes, "ö" definitely needs some practice to get it right. 👍🙂🙏
As a Czech, we natively use a tongue [r] sound, so it shouldn't be hard for others... And I say others because I have 2 speech impairments (r, ř), mix that up with OCD and you've got yourself a disaster that stops whatever it's doing just to try to repeat these sounds periodically. But whatever, that's why I like German, you have at least some variety!
Hi 👋 One way is using the playlists we have on TH-cam and start with A1.1... it's the first level to learn, but it's not like the videos are all in a chronological step by step order. It's just all the videos in one playlist. If you want to learn in a very organized way that follows a book step by step, then our course is more suitable your sind all the information on it website: www.yourgermanteacher.com/site/courses 👍🙂🙏
It would be helpful to know where the pronunciation choice of each speaker is coming from. I've been learning elsewhere that the pronunciation of the first few letters, in American English, are closer to "Ahh, Beh, Seh, Deh Eh, Ehf, Ghee", but I'm hearing long (American) syllables in each of these and much closer to what we're familiar with (except for the "hard" ghee sound).
o and u are the same as youd think and ö is like e with rounded lips whereas ü is like i with rounded lips im aware i replied six months late but i hope this helps
