I saw the IG story last night thinking it was a thrown rod "I guess the bottom half CAN'T handle 450?" I though... but naaah, the good ol tranny gave up on you. Seems like multiple people have experienced transmission and clutch issues. I am at 18K miles... so if its gonna happen it needs to happen soon while my warranty is good.

People say after you run like 330+ for torque is when it starts to become a problem
I thought the warranty was for 5 years 100k miles

Sounds like an extended plan. Highly doubt the warranty will cover this type of issue. If warranty is ur concern, keep it stock.
I'm stock and car has shift locked out on me on 2nd and 4th. I'm counting around 8 times now.
You’ve broken your fifth gear hub sleeve. I’ve done it twice now on my GR Yaris. Neat gear boxes in South Australia have developed a stronger hub sleeve but even then I have no confidence the problem will be resolved. If it breaks again I will put in a PPG dog box but that is $$$
Also perhaps it is a statement of the obvious but you will definitely have bits of metal washing around in your gearbox.

So crazy, my GRC is an identical spec to this one and it has been my daily since September and I fuckin love it! First big purchase for myself and the car is so amazing in every way. Awesome to see what it is capable when you push it to the limits like it was meant to!!!

They do make a sequential gearbox for this car, although as a daily driver I wouldn't, I mean, unless you're going to be running the backwoods competitively, or if you just want it to be easy I'd stay with the stick shift
Mine do the same yesterday stuck in 5th 450whp after some try to pull out fix same like you. Now its hard to get 6th 😂
@NemtecRacing did you guys solve the issue with the rear diff and magnetic clutch pack from over heating by running the Cusco RS LSD? or what else has been done?
I was totally going to ask you if you were going to change the transmission for a sequential gear box. I seen yaris videos and thought that would be dope. Plus you have all that horsepower. Id be scared of the money shift.
Sequential is a very pricey option that’s the only reason we don’t have one already lol

There’s a Japanese guy who tracks his Yaris and has broken a few transmissions.
High power is probably going to require a sequential.
Forgot to add he’s on the forums talking about it, look up the Morizo transmission code and that’s how I found it.
We have been back and fourth with him a lot in the past few days lol.
And…. The issue you had seems like a clutch issue. I’ve broken clutch springs a few and the same thing happened. Couldn’t shift.
I just saw you can’t get back in 5th. So def not clutch lol
Yeah it’s the 5th and 6th gear hub is our issue cause recently 6th stopped working aswell lol

Genuinely curious I plan on going crazy with mods soon on my grc.. with the mods you have did the trans break because of how hard you pushed it or is it really just not suitable for such mods?? Your video has me asking same questions and before I put another 20 grand into my car I’d just like to know from someone who has pushed this car so beautifully and would love to find out if I should just go get a E63 wagon or some shit…. Ps…love your shit funny af
The trans just can’t hold the torque. The hubs that the gears ride on just fall apart above 350 torque. 2 gear hub is weak and the 5/6 gear is weak. We will either go sequential (17,000$) or there upgraded hubs for the stock trans but there lead time is unknown and 3k$

The stock trans seems to break around the 350 torque mark maybe 340
@@NemtecRacing have you experienced any grind/grinding issues with the transmission? People seem to comment on 2nd and 3rd grinding even with slow shifts. Sounds like a pressure plate or hydraulics issue to me, but you guys would know better.

@@NNN-rc2vcyeah…. To make the stock trans good enough to make power Cusco makes a new gear hub set that cause that failure issue that we and many others have. The only probably is ETA on that Cusco part is unknown

We think it is the same hub sleeve.

I’ve only been saying they have a glass trans for the past 8 months. Aisin BG6 is dog shit. GRC sucks. It has such a low performance ceiling without massive upgrades.
