Max’s second event vlog of 2023!! We headed to Wellington international event with Max for the BE 105 and what a fantastic day it was!
Max was very very overexcited but held it together enough for the dressage and showjumping and then was absolutely super in the XC! I felt like we really have got our mojo back with the XC!

I loved how Max took that little "Say WHAAAT??!" before the water jump & kicked YOU into gear, & then the two of you were magic for the rest of the course! Often, how people speak influences how they act; you might try dropping the word "nervous" & instead of having someone ASK how you're feeling before each round, OWN that question & volunteer that you're confident about X, Y, Z, will have to be careful/alert about A, B, C. You've got the horses, you've got the riding skills, you're getting better every time, there's no need to hold back. Now GO!!

For his second outing of the year, he was so impressive. I loved his forwardness, even though cost you a little bit of problem in the show jumping and dressage phases. He has really come into his own.

Congratulations Ashley and Max, what a wonderful result for you, seriously, you smashed it. Max clearly very excited,. but you still came away with fab score for dressage, and skillful riding at the water in the XC got him over it, and he went from strength to strength. I keep banging on about this Ashley but it needs to be said, you are doing brilliantly, far as I am concerned your concidence is there, you have it all, great horses, great ability both horse and rider, keep on believing it, the camera never lies! Can someone explain to me how the dressage age scoring works. I don’t get it.
Dressage score is out of 100%, in Eventing if you get 70% then you take that off 100 and your score is 30 - if you get 65% your score would be 35 and so on 😊😊
Don't wait too long to have kids yourselves.. you're nedically classed as 'geriatric' soon. It's not the end of your career! I raced mountain bikes, didn't even start til youngest kid was 2. A country event is a great place for kids
