I was on your right playing 5-5 PLO. I wanted to jump in that 5-10 game to test my skills. Man you quick with the videos! I finally see myself in the background on the famous Mariano video.
So glad to see something other than live stream clips edited together. Live streams don’t even feel like your content. It’s just borrowed from wherever you’re playing. Good stuff
Hey Mariano I think I met u the day u played but I thought u said u weren’t recording either way huge fan bro it was a pleasure meeting u hope to see u back again ✌️
Playing 5/10, 10/20 @ Aria is one of the toughest cash games in the world. So use to splashing around with recs on stream, you realize these guys live & breathe solvers and all have mentors. You also are hard on yourself, shoving KQ on a JT texture board is pretty standard. GG
loving this content buddy! the streams are great also, but this used to be your bread and butter and i enjoy knowing only your hand and sometimes never knowing what holdings you were up against!
I think it's always more difficult to bluff the river when it's an Axx board like AQx , the opponent will most likely at least call you in that situation. If it was a board like Qxx or even 9xx I think it is better to bluff on the river when the board is lower. I might be wrong but I think your opponent can put you one more hands that can beat his range if you bluff and also the opponents range that he continues with after the flop is tighter because of the A on the board
@mariano GREAT watching an #oldschool Mariano type vlog again. Might be the 1st one like this since the last home game you vlogged. Did you really play 5-10 no limit ș buy in for 5k at Aria or did you play 25-50-100 NL like the graphic in the Vlog said & short buy for some odd reason?
@@manrito7460 figured that much 😂 graphic just from a different game. We miss your old school #SHIAT. we want more! Maybe next time from a spot in Vegas you have NEVER vlogged from before?
Love these when you come back down to earthly stakes and put your camera behind your cards. I bet it's a little underwhelming after tasting stakes where you can win half a million in one hand, but your fans love it.
It has to be so hard to play 5-10 after spending so much time playing the nosebleed stakes I imagine you gotta have winners tilt playing this small of stakes for example the biggest pot u lost here was less then 4k in the games you been playing 4k is like a standard raise lol
I went all in with pocket twos on the flop after hittng the set. Of course my opponnent hit a higher set but the river gave me quads and that hand will always stick with me.
I'm new to poker and had a question. At about the 12:25 mark, he said "we're going to go twice" and the dealer pulls 5 more cards. How does that work exactly?
8:45 I think your opponent took note of your aggressive play style and slow played you because if your opponent were to bet aggressively, you would have realized the quality of your opponents hand.
I'm curious Mariano - how does the Aria 5/10 feel in terms of difficulty compared to the giant livestreams? We both know HCL specifically looks for whales, but I feel like the Aria 5/10 is gonna be a lot of good players, maybe people who are really good at poker but don't have the network/social skills/comfort level to talk their way into soft private games or have a vlog that could open doors to soft games, but they're still looking for a way to make more than the bare six figures of grinding $3/$5. I feel like a game like this is where such players would end up.
@@sevenhecks Easily, especially in LA where the game is suuuuper soft. My win rate is like $30-40 an hour there so its just a matter of putting enough hours in. But living expense are high and if you run bad making *just* 100k then you're in a dark place. Resume gap, no health insurance, no PTO, you get the picture.

Can someone explain to me a behavior that I have a hard time understanding watching videos of casino cashgames. I play tournaments and when the opponent bets and I call I don't say the hand I have but I wait for him to showdown so I can see his range and build my strategy. but I realize that in casinos, people already say what they have and if it's good, they don't even want to see the opponent's hand. why is this done? thanks.
When you have a session like that at $5/10/(20?), do you walk away thinking about how it would feel if you ran that way in one of the monster HCL or Lodge games? You dodged a bullet, my friend.
I’ve finally given up playing poker, just got back from the North Sydney Leagues Club, got called by Q2 off when i had AQ off. They turned a second 2 for the win, I know it’s a pretty standard hand but I am just sick to death of people who know nothing about odds always getting there. So poker, for me, as a hobby, is over, the degenerates can keep it amongst themselves.
You asked if we enjoyed the hand. I always enjoy your Neeme style vlogs. Normally my comment is Peace. But I’m going to ask if playing in these relatively low stakes games affects your style of play? Just curious. After all, you won 3/4 of a million in one pot. A hand for the ages. Anyway, Peace.
I have always thought that AK is a very iffy all in...and unless it's suited I never reraise...just call. With the flop, unless I have a read on the guy, I'll call the flop, turn river. Or dump it if I think he's good. One hand. Chip management...lol
The thing is, people get married to a hand pre-flop...AA KK and the flop goes south ... But the biggest con job is AK when you're bumped back...so you pull up your big boy shorts and bump it back to go all in v...AA KK and not AK suited it just dies. On Poker Stars one night, AK got called and lost to pocket pairs like a dozen times. I like to raise it but on a reraise just call. See the flop. Even if you flop A or K you can be up against AA KK.. happens all the time ...the only truly safe hand for AK is the straight...but ..how good is your read? Rampage called Airball with it but he had the read so no brainer..other times you just can't figure it...call a bluff, great hero!. Call the nuts, you idiot! Get bluffed, pussy! It's cards. AK is one hand... handsome cards. Going to movies, Mr Star? Ha! It's called... GAMBLING!!! Doh!
Oh, I was just wondering, you asked if I drink coffee and read newspapers... coffee, yo, newspapers, no. But I was just wondering if you drink sodas and read comic books? Big old pictures, simple dialogue, wham, bang, oof! Nothing too heavy. Just wondering...
Now this is the kind of session that resonates with the ppl
I agree I like Mariano but I have turned out a lot in the last couple months because it’s all nosebleed, which is not that interesting to me
the live stream vids are great but this is my favorite style. hope you keep mixing in these "old school" style vlogs

Sorry newbie question: how does he record this?.. is it a small camera pinned to his shirt?

Cool to see a Double M appearance!
He's great!
This guy has such a feel with great analysis on every street! Cheers Mariano 🍺
I also love these old school style Vegas vlogs, hoping for more of them in the future :)
I am definitely a fan of the OG non stream vlogs but enjoy everything you bless us with. LETS GOOOOOO!
You have a great style of play.
I've watched you improve over the years. Excellent player. Very strong.
Old-schooliano is refreshing to see although I'm still loving the hcl streams. Much love 💪
Mariano!! My dog, “ You win some, you lose some, but you live, live to fight another day” - Friday, keep up the videos and I will keep watching!!
I know vlogging is en vogue, but you are by far the best and more entertaining; you read the game so much better than the rest.
Love these style of vlogs and I appreciate the breakdown of the hands! Best wishes to you in your journey Mariano!
Thanks for the "old school" style - an enjoyable vlog as usual. 👍
(too bad about the loss, but as you noted, it could've been worse)
that Double M cameo there at the end was cool af, mans got style
I really like this format
Love your choice of audio censoring tool. Great vlog.
JTdd is one of my favorite hands to look down at. Only diamonds, other suits just don't incite my aggression as well.

Is the Aria poker room good with letting players Vlog? Last report I heard is that they would ask you to leave 🤷♂️

2 full boards, each run out is for half of the pot. If you win both, you win the full pot. It’s to combat variance

Like the og style, get the run bad out in the “small game”
It's funny that people keep saying this, while we're all aware that's not how card games work (previous outcomes have no effect on future outcomes).
The graphics are wrong when you show the stakes.
Good luck on million dollar buy in!!
When u have alot of $ u just always go for thin value and get snap called by low flushes
some sorta of "Airball" i like the comment on the last hand

risk of collusion if they swap in the same games they play
