Good tips! I’m new to coloring (in books) I’ve been trying to get used to use light pressure and holding the pencil up, but then I have no control over where the pigment is laid down! Some coloring pages have very little spaces so I’ve ruined several pages in the process! It would be great if you could do a video on tonal values (grayscale?) with different colors!
Amie, you are such a great instructor! I love watching artists teach other artists. I would love to see more of your mini lessons from Patreon available here on TH-cam but I don’t know The rules for posting between different video platforms maybe some of your shorter fur or color videos that have fewer viewership or views would be easier or more likely to be shared across video platforms. We also don’t want to shortchange your Patreon supporters! Thank you for sharing these great tips as always your a wonderful teacher!
Thanks for this video. I am an absolute beginner with Coloured Pencils and I have 2 questions. 1. Is there a hard and fast rule about how to build colours after the first base layer is down? 2. Is the decision on where to start the drawing a personal one or are there some specific guidelines about where it is best to start? Any advice on this would be most appreciated. Thank you. L.
Thank you this is useful. Is your Fabriano from the pad? I'm not having any success with the one from the pad...actually; it's bad. Too smooth, lots of little bits that show up and can't get deep saturation of colour on it. Bizarre. Re colour mixing I've been using green under pink for shadows.
Great tips but wish you had a closer more focused view i find it hard to see. I have layering issues with the color being kinda just inconsistent no matter how careful i am to use less pressure and multiple layers....by third or fourth layer there are sort of blobs of color like i have not been able to avoid with the paper i am using ....gonna try something with more tooth....feels like i have oversaturated maybe....i used the finesse pen too and i didnt like the result either. Im kind of perfectionist and cant stand anything uneven....ugh
I just found this channel and flipping through it, I can say I've stumbled upon a goldmine
Such a great teacher 👌 x
Loved this Amie, thanks for your help
