    So useful to also for clearing up a stereo pair of inputs on a mixer/interface for more gear ☺️

    The DX7 cello is really good with some reverb. The DX1/5 patches are even better if you happen to have two dx's or modules.

    Thank you SO much MR. CLOONINATOR: I'VE BEEN IGNORING MY MOD and watched the Syntrx today until ultimately seeing the price so I DECIDED to come to terms with REALITY - - THANK YOU SO MUCH; I NEEDED THIS VIDEO AND TO STOP IGNORING THE CAPABILITIES OF MY MODX - - I want TO G♡ IN through AD with GUITAR; I'm already in with mixer and pedals routed through the mixer sends but I WANT to EXPLOIT THE 8BIT "CRUSHER"!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

    Modx already has built in FM engine exactly like the DX7

    Hey I follow everything you did step by step but when I was done I didn’t get no sound at all when I was speaking I don’t know what I did wrong.

    So you can't leave this setup and change to another internal sound in the Modx cause you'd have to put this in every performance? Be nice if it was separate and input was always there especially for say a microphone input you could of used the reverbs on your voice and out to pa on small stage.

    Is it possible to route the Midi of the DX7 into the MODX? Sorry, I'm new to this, but would that allow you to control the DX7 with the MODX? Thanks in advance and for your great channel! Been extremely helpful!

      Yes the DX7 and MODX use 5-pin standard MIDI connection, to control the DX7 from MODX==>connect MIDI OUT on MODX to MIDI IN on DX7.

    is analog input meant to only play the analog in sound by itself? If you did a MODX sound with it you couldn't have different effects as the input right?
    I got an input device but can't get effects on it. What am I missing?
    I don't understand why your says "Common Audio" at top of 3:40 . Mine says common part. ??

    I don't have the MODX but have a moxf which has ad inputs similar to the MODX. Now in the moxf, the ad input can also accept mic level input as well as line level (I am guessing the MODX does that too but not sure since I dont have one) and there is actually a setting for each performance where you will have to specify if the input is line or mic. Also, if the input is line level then if it's stereo or mono. These setting are very imp and one of the first things I do when I plug anything in to the moxf. But I don't see these setting being demonstrated in this video. Pls correct me if I am wrong.

      Yes you can switch b/t line and mic level. Everything in MODX is tweak-able.

    Thank you ! Very useful info. I’m hoping to use this to run my Sub37 through the FX of my Montage.
    QUESTION: After I have set up a dedicated A/D input Performance as you have done, I want to insert it in previously created Performances along with other Performances . How will the Montage/MODX know to use this particular Performance to process the A/D input from the Sub37 ? Thanks for the help !

    • @SynthsandGuitars
      @SynthsandGuitars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I'm glad you're able to use the info!
      As to your question: you'll want to start with the dedicated A/D input Performance and then add all the other Performances to that so the Audio In settings are preserved. IOW, if you insert the dedicated A/D input Perf into another Perf if will adopt all the Audio In setting of that one which may create unintended results.. Hope this makes sense.

      @@SynthsandGuitars yes I see what you mean. That’s what I’m afraid of. I worked with it some tonite creating an A/D input perf. But have not yet inserted it into previously created perf. If I have to turn off the AD input on each part of every performance I’ve already created that’s going to be a chore. I’m using the Left Assignable Out so I can still run the Sub37 to its own channel on the mixer. If I get it figured out I’ll post back. Might be of use to you also. Thanks !!

      @@SynthsandGuitars I figured it out it’s really quite simple. You go to the performance that you want to add the A.D. input to and set it up as you described. Edit to audio in to mixing. This is where you set your AD input and your ADoutput. In my case the input I’m using Left mono for output I’m using assignable left. That way I can send my sub 37 to a separate channel on the main mixing board.
      Then go to routing. This is where you select your FX for the AD input. Be sure to select your output. In my case assignable left.
      Then go to insert A and Insert B. This is where you can adjust your FX settings.
      All other Parts of the Performance will be unchanged.. The only drawback is you have to do this to each one of your previously created Performances. If you are creating a performance from scratch then you can create a dedicated AD input performance as you did and start with that each time.

    I have a question, if I do this procedure with any keyboard or synth and I store it as a performance on the MODX, can I use that sound or perfomance on the MODX without having to connect the external instrument again ?

  • @justinhavu

    Having an issue with using a 2nd synth through the A/D in. When I change performances on the MODX, the A/D input level changes, and the audio drops out for a split-second. Any way to get around this?

    • @SynthsandGuitars
      @SynthsandGuitars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll have to duplicate the A/D settings for each performance in order to change as you describe. There's no other way around this that I've found.

    Hello, is it possible to connect yamaha p-125 digital piano to midex6? And if yes, how does it possible and can the sound of both keyboards be heard from the p125 speakers?

    • @SynthsandGuitars
      @SynthsandGuitars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know the p125 only has audio outputs, so you will not be able to input the MODX. OTOH, you can output the p125 to the MODX A/D inputs and then output from there. Hope this helps.

      @@navidbadie7161 To my knowledge the usb to host on p125 is designed to connect to iOS device as a "extended screen" for the p125.
