A lil backstory:
I failed my 50/50 on the release of Aventurine and got disheartened, since then I’ve been thinking that maybe I didn’t need another sustain in my team as I already got Loucha, Huohuo and Gepard.
I’ve been researching pro’s and con’s, trying to be pragmatic in my decision on why Jingliu would be great for my team, her usage on MoC, how she is staying strong against powercreep, she is f2p and is as strong without her LC, I already have the support characters to make her *hit like a truck* in my 2nd team etc etc. I thought while clicking this video I will be 100% convinced to just get Jingliu UNTIL I got to 0:52, man you snapped me out of my spiral cus dude, *you are right, pull for the character YOU like*
I immediately paused the video, got on HSR and pulled for Aventurine because _I like him as a character_ (reached hard pity) and I got him… TWICE IN ONE 10 PULL 😭
And yes, I did come back and watch the rest of the video and you definitely nailed it on the head with why I was so torn in why I should get Jingliu. Her performance since her release has been *stellar* - it felt like a missed opportunity for me to skip yet again on this great unit.
I can only speak from my experience, the reason why I enjoy HSR (as well as Genshin) is that I enjoy building characters that I am fond of! I definitely got in my head about wanting to be “meta” after seeing so many other players/content creators doing such astronomical damage and all that with Jingliu while I’m still stuck with my Herta as my ice DPS 😅
To conclude, I credit getting Aventurine E1 to you man, pull for the character you like and you got a new subscriber.

100% she is the easiest DPS to build in the game and just like every 5* that is stronger than Jingyuan, Jingliu can easily ignore elemental weakness.
Elemental weakest matter at time there are certain scenarios that favor certain unit
By each patches the moc enemies has more HP. Weakness coverage with weaker Characters than the top of the Patch gets more irrelevant lmao, Jingliu fell off.

Yea I've been heavily debating on trying for her. While I need adventurine more for my team i just like her more as a character.
I got Jingliu as my first 5* and was very happy with her. She carried me through many challenges. And I promised I’d get her signature lightcone on her rerun. Can’t wait!

The thing is, it's easy to say "DPS characters are easily replaced" it's a kit by kit basis. Seele's extra turn, and free 100CV from Jingliu is a mechanic that cements their place in the game.

But i have to agree, as a long time Jingliu main and enjoyer (E1S1), if i did not have her, i probably would not get her now, as much as it pains me to say. She still clears MoC 12 just fine and is still looking as good as the day i pulled her, but the truth is they want to sell new characters, so any DPS they release will probably be same level or better (apart from Boothill, i just don't trust in hunt anymore).
fact is as a new player you either need a sustain and pull for adventurine or you need a second dps with archeron on one team and jingliu on the other team ( that is if you don't want to use dr ratio and adventuirine in your second team and archeron on an first team ). We already know that the next 2 character are robin and boothill you can look at their kits and see if you like them , if not then i think jingliu is a safe pull, you will have plenty of time to save for Sam or whoever else come after. Also considering jingliu doesn't use many skill points she does work decently well in a dual dps setup.
I am a new player and managed to pull acheron e1, do you think i should go for her e2 or get jingliu?
Im in the same beat. I started 2 months ago and managed to get Acheron and her signature lightcone, but now im not sure if i should get Jingliu for a second powerful dps or Aventurine for a shield that will make me near invincible.
Very interesting point of view. I didn't even think about it. I agree with you 100%. It's better to focus on new, more interesting characters rather than old ones. However, this most likely does not apply to characters like Ruan Mei or Sparkle. Top of Harmony characters must-haves on the account.
I know Acheron is good, and even though I don't even have GNSW, I still decided to try pulling for her, but I lost my 50/50 again for the 4th time in a row and all at high pity.. Sigh.. 😞
Maybe I'll just save for Jingliu and wait for Acheron rerun, and at that point hopefully I'll have several GNSW, and most importantly win the 50/50.
And I have all the current top harmony chars anyway, also my current ice DPS is Yanqing, while my current lightning DPS is Jing Yuan, so maybe replacing YQ should be better than replacing JY for now.

My first moc team consists of acheron, sw, pela and gepard.
My second one is blade, ruan mei and lynx.
Blade is awesome but if the enemies are not weak to wind he is mid.
My plan was getting JL with LC cuz i really like her but now thinking about it heavily investing in an old unit is kinda risky. Any suggestions?

Also don't get her LC. It's not worh dropping 75 pulls for. Just use the Herta shop LC for her.
i will keep pulling from the now, because still a lot of harmony characters wasn't released, the same for DPS, Preservation, etc so altough i don't have a healer, shielder or a harmony support, i can get a fresh one from the the next patches and fill all the needs on my teams.
So don't panic and pull whoever you want because you have enough time to get a proper support from the now if you have this idea in mind
Totally agree. Started in 1.4 and JL was my first limited and she carried me until now. I still always use her in one of the 2 teams, Acheron, Kafka, BS on the other. I initially wanted to pull for her LC on this rerun, but it's not worth it. SAM is around the corner, and I can already easily clear MoC 12 and PF. I would rather pull a new character then get a 15-20% over fall of aeon S5.

I have only 1dps right now that's Acheron and i also have dr ratio but he ain't that good as he is a hunt character so i desperately want an good dps to carry me i don't understand what should i do (skip or pull jingliu)

started 3 weeks ago and i have the same issue. i literally dont have a second team for MoC kinda stuff. it would be better for us to use dr ratio as 2nd teams dps but aint no way im playing with some L ratio dude while i can play with a few hundred years old hot chick. her animations are so good. id skip her if sam was coming anytime soon but apparently no so i think i can farm enough jades for her too, meanwhile i can just clean moc for a couple of times which would let me farm more jades. looks like a winwin for me, dont u think so?

@@jadendevos8696 i use gallagher for that spot since i e6'd him while pulling for acheron to e2,even e4(maayyybee e2) gallagher is pretty much usable if u have him.I also want ruan mei so bad but i might skip her for sparkles rerun. i started the game the day her banner changed😭 i dont think jade or the other new characters(except for sam) will be worth pulling tho. aventurine is a nice one but i will skip him since i have gepard already.

I have Jingliu since the first banner + Lightcone and she has a massive damage output and is really fun to play with. The animations are top tier too as well as the lore
Dpses takes months to build bro, definitely not easy to replace. Most new dpses have new relic sets. It took me 2 months of farming to finish Archeron and I started in February.

I pulled Acheron because she’s supposed to be so good. But I find that I never use her. If I need a lightning character for anything I use Kafka and Black Swan. Black Swan is a good team mate for Acheron but if I need a wind dps I use Black Swan and Kafka.
I’m thinking of pulling for Jing Liu simply because if I need an ice dps currently I’m stuck with Misha.
I feel like I got swept up in the Acheron hype and pulled a character I didn’t really need when I should have been saving for Jing Liu because she actually fills a role I haven’t already got covered.
I feel like it’s the same with Adventurine, he’s supposed to be great but I already have Gepard for shields and Luocha for imaginary sustain so while he might be better that either of those two he’s not really offering anything that I haven’t already got covered.
I pulled for Acheron not just bcoz she is broken but coz of her design. And that I do not have lightning DPS yet. I skipped Kafka coz I do not like her design and backloaded DoT damage. One reason why I pulled Acheron coz her damage upfront clears any content. But for ice weak content, I still use my Jingliu.
Same with you, I am skipping Aventurine coz my Gepard has very good relics and works well with Acheron.
You can actually use Acheron together with BOTH Kafka and Black Swan!
Acheron is great, the problem is that you need an extremely specific team to make her godly. You can't just pull her like Jingliu and expect her to crank out the damage.
Jingliu is the only "real" ice damage we've got right now, and it's probably best you get that while you can. Though it's best kept in mind that she will be replaced sooner rather than later.
It's a similar thing with Aventurine. If you already *have* a fully built Gepard, and he works for your teams...well, keep it that way. If you don't happen to have him or you're feeling that he's falling behind, Aventurine's a good pick. Honestly, it's going to be interesting to see what happens to Gepard now that he actually has legitimate competition on the shielding front. Aventurine has a solution to his biggest weakness (skill shielding vs ult shielding), and specifically synergizes with FUA teams on top of it all. Gepard'll survive, of course, he's a standard 5-star, after all, but it'll be curious to see how he is viewed in a couple months.
@@Can_O_Crayola I have gepard and adventurine. Gepard is ass, adventurine shield you on his skill and will have you never taking hits. Gepard only shields on ultimate and enemies can target one character until his next ultimate and bring you to your knees.
Jingliu is still an S+ tier unit that is just as strong as DHIL.
She hasn't fallen off at all. That implies the content has outscaled her, which it hasn't, not even a little bit.

Her comfyness to build, her Consistent 150k dmg / skill Definitely will Carry you to the end game and even beyond

My common sense died after Ruan Mei. I SHOULD go after a new sustein character, but I almost E2 my Acheron and there is a cool cowboy comming up.

These are all good points, however for newer players like myself that needs 2 teams and barery missed kafka, has Acheron, Black Swan and now Adventurine, it's hard to say no to Jingliu and her LC!!!! Luocha being an old character boosted my account and so can Jingliu!
yep, I skipped luocha because aventurine was right there. Next DPS is boothill which a lot of ppl are saying hunt characters are weak, will have to wait and see.
After him is sam, no doubt he will be the next strongest, but he is a fire character. You tune your build based on the bosses your facing and Jingliu is the ice meta character. I am pulling for her after pondering about it for more than a month lmao.
Still coping she'll get a crazy support and rect DHIL again. Powercreep doesn't exist when devs have favourite children. Jingliu got exactly 0 buffs since release, her BiS are still Tingyun and Bronya. While DHIL suddenly became twice as better with Sparkle. Still can't forgive HoYo for this ridiculous move.

As a player who E6S5'ed both Jingliu and Acheron........ they're both incredibly fun to play and I still use them both. ^_^

This is Hoyo we're talking about here. You literally have Tingyun as your avatar bro, many would say she's top 3 supports in the game and she's a free 4 star. Powercreep is not a one way street here. Sometimes they change something up, or release a new support with amazing synergy with an older unit. If anything sustain is the category that is experiencing powercreep the most so far (thankfully Aventurine is not continuing that trend tho). DHIL was powercreept one patch after release by Jingliu but then Sparkle released a little bit later and evened the playing field somewhat. Boothill is going to compete with Dr. Ratio, not Acheron. In fact it's likely no one is going to compete with Acheron for a long time.
The real answer is to look at your account and see what you're missing, if that is supports then consider Robin, if it's sustain ig consider Aventurine, if it's DPS PULL ACHERON NOW (if you did already and still need a second DPS, probably pull Jingliu).
What u r saying makes so much sense they do release new characters that sync well with old characters just like dhil and sparkle same can happen for jl, btw I need two dps i already have acheron and will be going after jl but is it better to go after aventurine or fu xuan ?
@@Israel-cc4zf It's really hard to go wrong with Fu Xuan. Aventurine is not worth the pull imo unless you are playing Topaz follow up teams. For crit DPS like Acheron and JL Fu Xuan and HuoHuo will reign supreme for some time to come. What sustains do you have now? It sounds like maybe you are a newer player. Gallagher is suprisingly strong for Acheron teams if you have some eidolons, and so is Gepard. You may be alright with only one limited sustain is what I'm thinking, but then on the other hand when you haven't reached true endgame strong sustain is more important because you can't kill the enemies fast enough. It's really kind of a catch 22, where you almost have to pull for sustains but then later on you won't need them but then you've already spent those jades when you need to go for supports and DPS. 😒

As for sustain I have nat(E1), lynx(E1),luocha. Ik ik that i should go for second dps ..and for 5* 2nd sustain I should go for fu xuan . It's just aventurine is very tempting after this patch i really liked his character.. and also worried that jl might power crept by Sam in future

the only redeeming quality for jingliu is that she is easy to build, but once you get in endgame she kinda fall off from acheron/dhil because of cracked supports, the only one who can support jingliu is bronya, soo use ur head

Imagine saying Jingliu has mediocre damage lol. I have both Acheron and Jingliu and I still use them both - top two DPS in the game. DHIL only shines at E2 and if you have Sparkle, take those two out and he is not a top two DPS.
I’m sorry but jingliu falls off?? I think it might be a support/relic issue on ur end. 100k+ dmg while not consuming any skill points while lunae needs 3 skill points to do similar damage is not really a fair comparison. What is ur jingliu build may I ask?
My Jingliu deals 250k per enhanced. Three enhanced attacks are roughly on the level of an Acheron ult.

If you skip all the other columns (like character design, lore and personal preference) new dps characters almost always outclass the older ones dmg. That doesn’t mean the old units are useless. Just maybe a little more building and bit smaller numbers. So hopefully people pick the ones they like. Not the ones you’re supposed to get.
Never personally cared for Jing Liu so skip this time too. My jade stash is going all in for Aventurine.

Lost my 50 50 on her first time around and just lost again to e2 gepard but got her in the next 30 pulls and at literally 2 jades atm but i dont care cuz i love her to death
