Imo that’s a good thing that they made the premium fua team a thing, cuz if you don’t care about it you can save a crap ton of jades, and if you care about it you get an amazing single target exodia team with lots of longevity

For FuA, there's sadly no alternative to Robin, Aventurine and Topaz.

It's not about competition of each limited unit matter, it's about upcoming content getting much harder, enemy became more tankier and knowing hoyo-gimmicky battle requiring specific limited unit to clear it with ease actually does matter

They buffed enemies HP again for Pure Fiction 2.3 so be ready because people will gonna need as many buffs as they can
Really wish they make comp game mode rewarding title/icon for hardcore players instead of keep creating purgatory for those who rely on MoC/Pure Fiction jades to keep up like this
People are clearing content with 4 stars so at the end of the day, it's all FOMO. Pull for the team comps you're building. FUA - Robin, otherwise Ruan Mei.
I've been complaining about this for months but the trend of honkai devs, even in hi3, powercreeping every rerun units back to back in each update, this is going to hurt f2p and small spenders ($200 or less a month) when the majority of the problem with this game is not just the FOMO being twice faster than GI one new 5* per update
(typically very underpowered new 5* in GI so rerun = better in GI than newer banners)
but the relic + planar farming requiring too much RNG that you're bound to not get a unit to full build before the next 1-5 new 5* arrives.
I still don't understand why the likes of units in v1.0-v1.4 aren't in the standard banner yet.
And even if you do get them, if you don't have ruan mei as your harmony, they typically aren't usable for current moc lol.
HSR devs don't know how to balance the game. They sell units via fomo and powercreep.
It's very fked when you look at each new banner costing $360 + $360 per update for the guarantee pity.
@@Qopa It's not so bad except for hunt units like Seele, but then again it's not because of how bad her kit, but more likely because she is a DPS unit and a single target which still has no fitting endgame mode like Destruction or Erudition.
Also all of your complaint always comes down to DPS units which not only in HSR, but GENSHIN as well happened a lot. And even tho genshin's Fomo isn't that big, it's still gacha games, they sell their character with fomo, no matter what gacha game it is.
Also I think HSR know what they doing considering they already buffed Erudition character using new endgame mode, while we still haven't heard any improvement for Geo characters in genshin
I've had a very comfortable time with slotting Ruan Mei in Blade teams, for general farming, Pure Fiction Himeko/Herta, Simulated Univers, ... so I don't see myself pulling for Robin but I might get her on her rerun
Having both is going to be godsend. Will probably set me up for success across the board as different team types can be built off of both of them. This will give me the trifecta harmony of Ruan Mei, Sparkle and Robin

I honestly think Ruan Mei is harder to powercreep because she does so many things all at once. The way to powercreep Ruan Mei is to release dedicated supports for all those niches, which can definitely take some time. For Robin is just the opposite; when they release another 100% Action Forward that's not as inherently tied to Follow-Up as Robin, then people will use that new character since doing 90% at everything is a lot more comfortable than doing 100% in just one thing.
They’ve already started doing that. Robin is literally the first example. If you do hypercarry sparkle is more important. FuA Robin. DoT is next on the list (take a few nihility blessings and roll them into one character and RM has no place on the team). She can be a good second harmony, but that’s only if they don’t release good limited debuffers (wolf is the only one).
RM is always gonna have a place in the break team, but they were never gonna let her be the undisputed queen for too long.
Its very unlikely for them to release another 100% team wide advance, EOD already explained it since its going to be mechanically difficult to do so. Like how sparkle during beta had 100% advance before it got nerfed to 50% since you literally can have an infinite cycle between her and bronya.

Interestingly, I don’t think dedicated supports dethrone RM. The thing is, with new players/tournaments, you often have a limited number of characters to choose from. RM might not be the BiS for many teams in the future, but she will be the second best for *every* team, which gives her utterly enormous pull value. For casual play with older accounts where you have all the BiS supports (maybe you’re a whale, Idk) she might not see a ton of use outside her niche in the break team, but that just puts her roughly equal with other BiS supports.
Now, maybe she will be powercreeped sometime in the future. Even with all her versatility and strength, it’s potentially possible a support could outperform her just by sheer numbers. It might be likely, even. But as it is, she’s got a very comfortable position in the meta.

FUA: Robin
We don't know what team will get a dedicated support next but for now, Ruan Mei is BiS in Dual Harmony (might change due to Robin), DoT and Break teams.
Considering we already have a weakness immunity mechanic it seems like hoyo could easily screw over ruan mei by just adding more enemies with it.
They won’t since boothill and sam is getting added they will avoid that for the near future or else it would hurt their sales
They are not doing that to screw over Ruan Mei, its just gameplay mechanics. They use it as a mechanic where you're required to do something specific (like killing adds) to remove the immunity. But Ruan Mei will still help your team overall vs those ads so i don't really see this as an anti Ruan Mei thing.
Either way she still buffs overall dmg so she would still be good
If you low on jades and want both I would pull ruan mei first and wait for robin rerun because you never know when ruan mei comes back for her second rerun, might be a long time.
Ruan Mei will get her rerun much sooner than Robin though. So why not pull now? They really bring the same value.

@@aidanarmaggeddon Exactly, it's a rerun banner for Ruan Mei which means after her rerun she will be gone for a long time. Robin how ever will have her rerun soon after her first banner so if you're low on jades and want both characters it's better to save your jades for now and guarantee yourself Ruan Mei and then go for Robin's rerun. Same goes for Topaz,
if you don't have Topaz but want Topaz, Love Topaz, need Topaz, I would prioritize getting Topaz first because she will be gone for a long time along with her light cone. How ever you might run into a risk of having Robin rerun with another unskippable character so be wary. Also if you're fua team enjoyer, Jade is coming 2.3 so plan your moves wisely. 👻For me personally I try to take the following route: Topaz > Jade > Ruan mei > Robin in this order but who knows if I get lucky with Topaz I might break and try going for Robin right away. 🤭💸

i'm not sure if i can get robin since sparkle drained most of my reserves. in any case, my first impression is that the 2 of them will be slight upgrades or sidegrades over each other depending on your team. i'd rather have RM + sparkle on team 1 and then robin on team 2, assuming that robin is a good replacement for ruan mei. RM + sparkle is such a strong combo that it makes 0-1 cycling with no sustain so much much easier. they synergize so well together in boosting virtually any carry.
it's side 2 that would be problematic without a sparkle/ruan mei tier support on my account. if robin is as good as the other 2, then that would be a really good way to fix things.

Hi EODGamer I was wondering if you could do a video discussing Fu Xuan vs Huo Huo? I am currently contemplating between the two since I think both of their reruns are happening soon.
Ruan Mei being powercrept in the FuA aspect was something I already expected a while back. The thing is RM is so good because she can be slotted in any teams and do well but she doesn't necessarily have a specialty as a result, a jack of all trades. So Robin powercreeping RM for FuA teams while being a sidegrade/downgrade compared to RM in other teams is a nice way of balancing things out.
So a safe pick would be = Ruan Mei
Specialist (FuA Teams) = Robin
FUA= ???

Ruan Mei is better outside of FUA teams but the difference is so small I actually feel like overall Robin might be a better option if she is cracked on FUA teams and is a sidegrade/very small downgrade from Ruan Mei. On non-FUA teams though I feel like you need Huo Huo for her energy boosting ultimate for Robin to be as good as Ruan Mei.
I have, love and use Ruan Mei (also Sparkle, Fu Xuan and Adventurine). I'm all good for supports for now. What I'm missing is dps fire and especially physical coverage. Hopefully distruction or edrudition units. I consistently miss Himeko and Clara whenever I lose my 50/50. I hate the creepy knight man, but I'll pull him if I must 😑

I need a dps and sustain, and since i already have ruan mei and Sparkle, I feel like there is no need to pull for another harmony, especially since i don't have fua characters built. So, for my account, im pulling boot hill for the break effect team.
I am still contemplating on pulling fu xuan, since I neef a sustain for my acheron team, but I know that her best sustain is not out yet.

My strategy in the game is just to get all the buffer and debuffer available because they will offer more utility than a dps could and also they have more longevity
So far, it looks like there's no perfect harmony for dot teams nor acheron teams (maybe bronya for acheron?)

I'm unsure which of them I like better for follow-up team. The 10 speed Ruan Mei gives to the whole team is 5 rolls worth of stats to each of the other characters in the team, which allows them to reach 135 speed without using SPD boots. I also have to use the speed set on each character just to be able to reach 125+10 speed and maintain good crit stats. The debuff from Ruan Mei's ultimate also helps Ratio. Maybe Robin will technically be slightly better for follow-up team than Ruan Mei but I don't think it's enough to be worth replacing her. A big problem with using Robin in follow-up team is you have 1 less debuff so you basically have to get E1S1 Topaz for Ratio to reach 100% chance to follow-up consistently.
I mean outside of Topaz Ratio at the moment all the other follow up characters don't use the advance forward that well. Jing yuan LL won't move any faster, himeko and xueyi want break, qq e4 want skill points, and herta does her thing at half health. I feel Robin has a higher ceiling but a lower floor compared to Ruan Mei and Robin is a feast or famine in hyper carry comps due to her not generating many skill points she either clears fast or hits a wall. I think in super invested and people with top quality relics Robin will no doubt out perform Ruan Mei but in an average environment Ruan Mei might be better.
Robin will be perfect for my Ratio/Aventurine Team, debuffs won’t be a problem cause I’ll use Pela instead of Topaz since I can’t afford to get her lol
Also Robin compensates for spd boots with her massive atk buff
E1 Robin also gives speed, just sayin

Robin works well anywhere on the same tier if not better than Ruan Mei in certain comps.
Just because you don't want to run FUA doesn't necessarily mean that Robin will be bad apart from it.
@@aidanarmaggeddon Ruan Mei is slightly better than Robin for non-FUA teams in general. The difference is very marginal though but since OP said they don't run FUA terms, Ruan Mei is the better option + looking at the 2 upcoming DPS units, as well as the HTB Synergy and w/ Hoyo pushing break effect.

I have a follow up centric account, and my main team I’ve been using is Ratio/Topaz/Ruan Mei/Aventurine. I’d love to pull Robin, but I feel I don’t have the need for her since I have E1 Ruan Mei, and I need to save my jades for Jade in 2.3
I think that's very fair E0S0 Robin will most likely not be an upgrade to an E1 RM.

Robin is a good choice for jingliu too
If you don't have RM at all, you should get Robin. I don't think RM will be in 2.3. From the dreams Argenti and HuoHuo have better chances to be in 2.3. Robin will perform similarly and better in FUA.
Robin works fine with Jingliu but she runs into a Similar problem as Sparkle but buffs are inversed as Jingliu gets so much ATK% from Transcendence that Robin's ATK% would Provide a lesser benefit to Jinglliu then Ruan Mei's extra DMG%/Res Pen at E0. (The E1 argument is Redundant As Robin does gain Res Pen but Ruan Mei gains Def Ignore)
2.4 should have the 5 star pela, which may be able to take her spot for jingliu. Would pay attention to their kit if RM does get her rerun soon.
so would robin be a good pickup if I have jing yuan and ratio? I don't have aventurine, fu xuan, or huohuo so I have problems with jing getting cc'd / debuffed
I'm in the same boat as you. I have JY and Ratio. If you don't have any other buffers like sparkle/ruan mei, go for it 100%. You'll have enough gems saved up for the next patch. I would also recommend eventually getting two 5* sustains such as fu xuan/aventurine but one will do for now

If you have Ruan Mei, then you don't need her. I have Ruan Mei, Topaz, Ratio, Aventurine all at E0S0 and i defeat the current MoC12 in 2 cycles. Robin is better in FuA teams and in Pure Fiction because she adds a little more damage to each allies attack and 100% action forward is really OP which makes u clear MoC 1 less cycle.

Robin's E0 is quite a bit of value upon itself when it comes to her 100% Teamwide AV. I'd say new units over Eidolons as Horizontal Investment is better at a F2p level but Ruan Mei's E1 is such a good Eidolon that if one's Looking for more Vertical investment it's always a good pickup
Ruan Mei E1 you've already invested resources into getting your Ruan Mei built robin isn't going to be the difference between clearing and not clearing MoC12 or PF4 when you already have like 95% of her buff from Ruan mei

Not to mention, if in the future there are characters that don't scale off of ATK, RM will have the edge over Robin. Non-ATK scalers will nullify >50% of her buffing capability whereas RM will not have a problem since she's a fully damage bonus buffer.
Here my question in kafka premium dot. Can ruan mei be replace by harmony mc? If can then i will pull robin and put her on argenti team. If not im gonna skip robin and get ruan mei.
I just want all the harmony characters, but i do want to get a follow up attack team up and running, i won my 50/50 at 38 pity on aventurine, so im "just" missing topaz and robin (im crying a little for them being on the same banner ;-;)

Honestly, Aventurine is no 1 sustain in the game. Fu Xuan is still top tier but Aventurine has an edge. Swarm and G&G V is so much easier with Aventurine compared to Fu Xuan. I phase her out from my teams and I'm running Luocha T1 and Aventurine T2
@@nikolasimic4047 You can sustain with most sustainers in SU with the right blessings, even in Conundrum level 12 (look up ways to get most of the blessings in the game in one run). FX is the stronger sustainer in MoC (in terms of pure sustain) because it's nearly impossible to have a unit die under FX's skill. Snipes are still possible even under Aventurine's shields. Also, Aventurine requires skill refreshes to top up units who get sniped, unnecessarily using up skill points.
@@Shay_D_Mann He is extremely skill point efficient. When you get your follow up attack you get portion of your shields back. And for Fu Xuan... I never really liked her, it is just that her kit was OP. And for SU, sure I can choose carefully blessings and stuff... Or I can just run Aventurine and pick whatever I want. I cleared Conundrum Lvl 12 with ease just picking random Erudation and Preservation blessings while with Fu Xuan I had to choose what I need
@@nikolasimic4047 Aventurine is not necessarily SP positive. In the current MoC 12, the blue Dino can easily snipe a character on its first turn and tear through the opening shield given to them by Aventurine. He’d have to refresh this first shield immediately using a SP. Subsequent attacks from the Ice monster along with its summons can bust through the new shields created by Aventurine again, requiring him to use another SP.
And pal, if you’re playing GnG having to choose blessings instead of knowing how to easily get all the blessings in one run, then that’s a skill issue on your part.
@@Shay_D_Mann sounds like a build prb friend I accidentally went in MoC 12 with the Wrong Lc with my Mr. Vibes it was only lvl 50 and had 0 Def% and I still managed to get through it Ya it was close at the end but still I was missing out on like 40% ish of my potential max shields and this was with a non full build character aswell.
Ruan mei e1 vs robin e0 in the follow up attack team?
While I mostly run a FollowUp Attack team, I've got Ruan Mei and Sparkle already built up, and I just recently got a Bronya. I also just got Aventurine so my account is lacking jades for pulling. As great as Robin probably is for FUA teams, I think I'll be holding on for Jade (and hope I don't get bamboozled by Erudition yet again).
I guess I'll look into it again near the end of the banner; if she changes from "is really good with FUA" to "is absolutely CRACKED with FUA", maybe I'll roll for her. If I didn't have Ruan Mei though, I would 100% roll for Robin.
i have ruan mei e0s0 but i didnt roll for sparkle since i roll for black swan e0s0, don't know if robin be "a bit" nice alternative for sparkle, i don't have FUA characters besides FREE dr. ratio (no clara since day 1 either), looks like i'm gonna stuck with bronya for now....

If you don't have Ruan Mei, then yes. If you have c6 Ting Yun or Bronya, they are downgrades but workable.
If you don't have sustain/shields then wait for Fu Xuan - she works with Sparkle's Talent 😃

Tldr: robin is just another Ruan mei (in terms of value obvio cause they both have better niches they perform in), so having 2 Ruan mei's is awesome

I have sparkle and bronya as my only harmony units and i'm stuck between balancing them out between all of my teams, thinking that rm would be good to get for my kafka bs team alone, even if i don't use her elsewhere, but i really don't know since i just started building my team properly and investing into different characters that weren't phys mc 💀

Honestly after what they are bringing with Robin. For those with Ruan Mei i would skip just cause the next harmony will probably powercreep both. So if you dont need a harmony now just get a better dmg dealer or sustainer and wait for the next one.
Dmg dealers get powercrept much faster than harmony characters tho

Booty works better with her (she’s his bis) but if you like firefly more grab her, the point of rm is that she’s pretty universal. Just choose who you prefer!

I already have Ruan Mei, and she honestly works fine in my FUA team, so the current plan is to skip Robin, Boothill and Firefly to safe for Jade and expand my IPC collection. Maybe I'll get Robin on a rerun if they haven't released a better FUA buffer at that point, but honestly maybe not even then. This game is rather easy and I don't really care much about my MOC and Pure Fiction clears. As long as I can comfortably clear with Ruan Mei I don't really see a reason to replace her with the new best thing on the block. They are all gonna get powercrept sooner or later, so it just makes sense to skip a few powercreep stages to preserve ressources. Building a new character every patch is tedious anyway.
I'm skipping Firefly because she is literally blades 1:1 powercreep replacement and I am furious about it, I was willing to spend money to get blade to e6 s5 but now there is no point because acheron set a new standard he could never compete with.
Honestly I just got aventurine and he’s amazing but I want robin for MoC and Pure Fiction. I only play the end game content because I’m always in desperate need of jades😂

I may have to skip all the banners for 2.2. Running low on Stellar Jade. My FTP account has more than enough support characters. I'm in a position were I need more attackers. Quality of life drastically improved in my account the moment I got both Acheron and Adveturine. Acheron monopolized both Credit and experience materials while also becoming a main attacker. Adveturine helped to sustain my teams while also helping to clear the hardest content in Simulated Universe.
And then for the second team, what would you choose between break team or FUA team?
@@martin.0827 Break team is going to be tricky to create because of all the break eff sub stats you need. I do have Ruan Mei, but can't make it work right now. I'm working on a break team, but it's a lot of relic grinding. Dr Ratio, Himeko, and Herta are easier to build for a follow up team. Follow up teams are great for Pure Fiction.

Got Acheron with her LC, Aventurine and even got a free Jingliu. Not counting on my luck for robin but whatever pass I get while she's around will defo go to her haha
im conflicted, Robin is safer but I run a dot team, so I really want a Ruan mei, the probability of her being delayed even more fills me with dread, I should have gone for her when I had the chance. I don't particularly have the resources to make a follow up team atm, and i lost my 50/50, so i'm thinking about saving for Fu Xuan. Not really sure what to do.
I am in the same situation. I have decided to just pull 20-30 tickets and if she doesn't drop I will save my pity for Firefly banner, who is a must pull for me and save future tickets for RM even if she drops 2-3 patches later. Because we are gonna get a free 5* harmony in Patch 2.2 anyways, so don't mind waiting for RM.

Robin perform better than Ruan mei in DOT team, someone already tested it. To explain why, Robin 100% advance forward for entire team is way better than the buff Ruan mei give.

PVP will never be in HSR, we complained about it too much back in HI3rd that they excluded it from all subsequent games.
Because of ranked pvp content in almost every aspect of HI3rd, there's insane powercreep and characters literally aren't functioning properly if you don't pull their weapons and stigma, imagine having to pull 5* weapons like Genshin and 5* light cones in HSR, HI3rd has both at the same time which if you don't pull you might as well don't play the 5* character.

acheron also ruined the game to the point where every new dps is competing with her damage so it will have to be atleast on par to sell them which means enemy HP% is going to go up, tremendously throwing older DPS extremely far behind.
Blade, Kafka, Jing Yuan, Imbibitor Lunae and Jingliu were all REASONABLY close in terms of dps then Acheron comes out and is like Hoyoverse testing the water selling overpowered characters "Ok that worked they will spend for e2 s1 as a new standard, thanks for the money guys"
@@Krugmatik Yeah, when I was testing Acheron out by using the ones from my friends list, I was really disappointed to see how difficult it was to find one that didn't have eidolons or her light cone. And they usually had both. It also seems like the new MoC12 is already taking that into consideration, if the massive drop in my clear time is anything to go by...

E2 acheron? Robin coz all your team mate can generate stacks for acheron after her ult. Bronya can only bring back acheron.
Lost Ruan Mei 50/50, dunno what I'm gonna do yet but I think I'm gonna skip and just work on building up my pull hoard again. I blew everything on Acheron and Aventurine, literally zero pulls left as of today, and still intend to spend each pull I get on Aventurine banner until its gone in hopes of lucking into his E2 lol.

Ruan Mei feels very satisfying to play. Skill point positive and offers a lot of break effect and damage boost in her kit. Ruan Mei works exceptionally well in all types of content and in every team I have built with dot and hypercarry teams being my favorite. I built her with Dance Dance Dance, as I do not own a LC that offers break effect as a competitive option. I use the 4pc watchmaker set because it is better than my hackerspace set. As a supportive set I usually go 2 pc broken keel. I recommend Ruan Mei to anyone wanting a strong and versatile Harmony character.
I just want a double buffer for my Dual DPS Jingliu and Blade, so i think ill pull for Robin. Gimme that CRIT DMG boi
Ruan Mei is better for Jingliu+Blade. Robin only has 20% Crit Dmg for non Follow up Attack + Jingliu and Blade don't care for ATK buffs. Ruan Mei gives 18 more dmg% and 25% res pen which Jingliu and Blade prefer. Pull for who you want tho ofc!!

I just want to add, Robin also gives 50% damage for all allies(not just the 20%cdmg for fuas) and her ult doing 1 instance of her own damage) per ally attack. The ult's added damage is respectable imo.
Ruan synergizes with upcoming Harmony MC which has superbreak buff.
Both FuA teams and break teams are on the rise so choose your poison.

I can’t speak for sure but imo ruan mei would be better. Robin’s advance forward wouldn’t affect lightning lord and ruan mei’s break efficiency is good with the bouncing LL attack.
