    I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

      True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.

      In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 60s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 5 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.

I need ideas and advice on what investments to make to set myself up for retirement, my goal is to have a portfolio of at least $850k at the age of 60.

    Dear Akshat
    Sorry to say that the last 3 videos which you uploaded was revolving on the same point. When I heard this video, I felt like devjavu. Then I realised that I have seen the similar video in the previous episodes. Now you may tell that "Those who want have stock ideas don't watch this. I teach everything fundamentally". Yes you have done it very well. You have taught fundamentally. But now we don't want to stick to the same fundamentals again and again. I saw this video thinking that you have done it with an update to give with the fed's decision on interest rate and how we should analyse the market. But these segmental inflation, nifty 50 beating we are fed up with this. The only aim, I think why which you have done this video is to promote your courses and workshop as most people may think like this is an update on fed. I follow your channel only for macroeconomic events and news. Not for any tips. Nowadays you guys are becoming more profit driven. If you don't have much content, then keep your mouth shut. From your past videos now we know that our returns have to be adjusted with inflation and all. I follow a number of TH-camrs and to say that whenever there's not much content to say, they will come up with something like this and want to say, "I'm running a community of members, join that for more ideas" yeah making money is your personal matter. But whenever you post some videos, make sure that it is of some or other value and give a bit more knowledge. You are a good orator, by that you can fool someone, but not everyone. Please don't think that I am against all of your videos, but you have already done a number of videos regarding this concept.

    Hello, Akshat I watch your videos religiously, and I like that you include your actual portfolio with the content. I always see videos made with the younger generation in mind, such as investment plans for the next 20+ years. Would you kindly create a video on investment strategy for those in their 50s who wish to begin investing in mutual funds or stocks? I'll end this part of comments with a quotation. “Aging is not ‘lost youth’ but a new stage of opportunity and strength.”- Betty Friedan

    We need to also factor in the section 80c taxes saved due to EPF in old tax regime when we compare 8% returns with 10% inflation....
    Most of the direct MFs fees is less than 1% like the canara rebeco charges less than .50% so assuming 1% in calculation is high

    Please note down a correction.
    If portfolio growth is 15% and inflation is 6%, that does NOT mean that your real growth is 15-6=9% since it is compound interest and not simple interest. Please check yourself with an example before criticizing 😊

      What if you have no job. So that's basically only 12.5% tax on your gains. Just invest your parents FD savings of 30 or 50 Lakhs for 5 to 7 years as a lumpsum, and then you can STP withdraw atleast 50k monthly for the next 40 to 50 years. So early retirement guys :)

    One point that is been discussed in the Investor's community is that you dont have to pay tax on mutual fund every time the fund house buys and sell any stock. Whereas when you yourself are learning and investing money, you have to pay tax every time. In the end mutual finds will generate make you more capital though you have paid some commissions to fund house. Please clarify this point and what are your views on this?

    • @vipinprakashpawar7951
      @vipinprakashpawar7951 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the end you will get rebate of 1.25 lakh only beyond this will have to pay 12.5% tax. Better to do tax harvesting if you have profit of more than 1.25lakh every year.

    • @chetangpt
      @chetangpt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Multiple factors not considered-
      1) Direct stock investment generates much higher returns than mutual funds. This happens for a simple reason you need to manage money for 1-5 crores while fund managers manage 1000+ crore. Even if you copy paste a mutual fund house portfolio, you tend to make more returns.
      2) If you are regularly booking profits, you are using the full 1.25 lakh exemption every year which you normally won't do with mutual funds.
      3) You become better with stock analysis and are able to understand the cycles of different industries to invest better

      A crore is already not lot of money in today's terms, it will be even less 5 years down the line. Investing is just way to grow slowly and avoid becoming poor. Gone are days of euphoria when Nifty used to rise 70% in a year with 0 long term capital gain tax. Now even 25% rise is considered extremely good and top that with increasing capital gain tax

    • @Sahil-ny7eb
      @Sahil-ny7eb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If inflation is rising then indirectly the companies in stock market earns more revenue and profits so if you invest in stock market your returns increases as inflation increases. Like if inflation is 6% and gdp growth is 5%-6% then market will delivers around 12%-14% but if inflation is 8% then your returns will be 16%-18% from market. You can take example from past 4 years inflation is high consumption is high so markets are doing well and giving good returns

    • @fortuneltd3591
      @fortuneltd3591 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sahil-ny7eb It applies to companies with less domestic competition but doesn't apply to highly price sensitive sectors like FMCG, Commodity where most consumers are those with money in FD or poor. High inflation does help export oriented companies a lot as rupee gets depreciated
