I love seeing your videos pop up. The fact you care enough about the history under the earth makes me smile. History is amazing and watching it being uncovered is a true blessing.
Lots of channels on TH-cam about people restoring abandoned/derelict buildings all over Europe but I don’t think any one else had to dig it out of the ground before starting!
I'm always sooo excited when I see that you've posted a video!! Then I'm sad when it's over, lol. I can't even imagine how hard that work is but it just shows that if you just do something it will get done. Even just a little bit everyday.
I love how you edit these. It has a feel like speaking for people and things from the past which are forever silenced and cannot speak for themselves anymore. Until you came along that is.
I have enjoyed each and everyone of your videos. I’ve been more impressed with your local excavations than with those covered in Egypt. I think that’s because many of us have had somewhat similar experiences in our youths that help us relate to what you’re achieving. Keep digging!
It must be great having your own archaeological dig in your back garden and finding new things every time you remove the soil. This has been great following you on your journey 👏👏👏👍
Thank you so much for delighting the inner child in me who remembers digging holes in the backyard hoping to find something cool. It happens every time you post a digging episode.
I usually don’t comment, but I do have to tell you, even if you are only able to post sporadically, this is nothing short of amazing. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!! 🩶🩶🩶
I saw your video pop up in notifications and it made my day! I'm very happy to see every new chapter of your excavations! Can't wait for a new long video! Keep going, please!
Congrats on the bold move to drop the tree and slowly work through the roots. Paths always lead somewhere, it's just you may not yet know where that is.
Hey Afon, good to see you again😊. My interest in your project never wanes, I find it fascinating and what progress, more lovely stonework. It's looking great. See you next time. Good luck.
I'm fascinated by these kind of digs, it makes me wonder who were the people who lived here, what were their dreams, was that the life they wanted and of course, what happened to them...
Dear Afon Tirs 👍👌👏 I simply love your digging videos and could watch them for hours. Unfortunately this one is quite short, sigh. Thanks a lot for making recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.
Whoa, the stump looks huge! It's like a coffee table, or even a small dining table. Massive thing! Nice to see how you're progressing. It's so many stones here, if you'll do the arch, materials definitely won't be a problem.
LOTS OF WORK, BUT LOOK AT ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED AND IT'S SO MUCH FUN WATCHING YOU THROUGH ALL OF THIS! KEEP ON DIGGIN", PERHAPS THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!
Your yard fascinates me. It would drive me crazy wondering what treasures and dwellings and walkways and the like are under there. I love to see your updates!❤️🤗🐝
Good work. I hope you continue systematically and carefully digging and cleaning around the house and exposing all the intricacy of the root system of that huge tree. I have done a similar job here in Australia - Sydney and found many artefacts in my backyard (Federation House built in the 1900). It took me more than a month working during my holiday. That Old tree deserves to be treated with respect and use the stump to make something usable. Take care.
Well done, this is an amazing and fascinating project. I have watched all your videos so far & was hooked from the start. Top marks for all your hard work, & thanks for the beautifully put together videos - please keep them coming!
I'm thinking you can date the location by the tree rings a little. At least dating it back a bit. Of course the age could be conceivably much older then the tree. Lol
Interesting idea, but the tree could have started growing there many decades after it was abandoned, rather than immediately, so I don’t think it would give a very accurate timeline
I wonder if all that dirt is from the leaves falling and composting itself to dirt. If so, that makes me even more curious as to how old that structure is!!
Id guess that's just house "foundations"/ pathway. Stops water hitting dirt and from digging away at actual foundations and keeping around the house tidier
Very interesting. The people who once lived there may not have been very important in the scheme of things, but neither am I! Was that a shutter dog you were holding up?
It did look a bit like a shutter dog, certainly a latch for something, but I doubt the building would have had shutters, they're not very common around here.

I'm doing a walkaround video soon going through what I've dug up in the latest stages. Thanks for watching!
Excellent music to go with your video! 🕊❤️🕊 Peace and Love 🕊❤️🕊
Great work. Been follow your channel for the last 2 year. Keep it coming
Facinating stuff, so glad you are continuing your dig to find out more, it's a voyage of discovery for us all.
Your music track sounds very U2. Love it.
I'm excited what else you might uncover in the future
Time Teams latest dig :D The struggle continues, good video, hope you win.
Glad to see that you're still at it. Love the videos.

Great video. Love watching your archeological digs. Lot of fun. Thank you again for sharing
This is a really fascinating project....ever expanding!
Yaaaaayyy! *grabs popcorn 🍿
Wow! The stonework is amazing! Good luck! Very interesting, and getting intriguing to where this will leads !✌🏻💞😊
So fascinating to watch you find more to this mystery ruin. Like a real archaeology dig.

Always a pleasure watching you uncover the past. Even if it is a short video, I always get excited when I get a notification. 😊
I also like to see the past uncovered and reused.
Same here!
It must be great having your own archaeological dig in your back garden and finding new things every time you remove the soil. This has been great following you on your journey 👏👏👏👍
Thanks. I'm going to try and make some slightly longer videos!
@@afontirs you just do what you can, life happens! Your followers will still be here. :)

Same here! 😁
So interesting! Thanks ❤

Thank you for watching. I always have aspirations to post more often, struggling to make it happen!
Love these time-lapse excavation videos! 😁 It's coming along nicely. Keep up the great work! 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks, there will be more videos coming, and longer ones.
Congrats on the bold move to drop the tree and slowly work through the roots.
Paths always lead somewhere, it's just you may not yet know where that is.
Your determination is great, watching all the pieces of history you unearth is fantastic.
back to the roots !
So awesome.
From Rome Georgia. I really enjoy your videos 👍🏻
Fascinating, rediscovering old homes, and trying to figure out how all the pieces fit.
A true labour of love. Amazing

INSANE AMOUNT OF WORK. It must feel awesome to have ruins in your backyard!
It's a great project, keeps me busy for sure.
That last shot has me intrigued - the path led to something, wonder if it wasfor coal or wood or another building
I love watching this process! Please be careful not to hurt yourself!
Dear Afon Tirs
👍👌👏 I simply love your digging videos and could watch them for hours. Unfortunately this one is quite short, sigh.
Thanks a lot for making recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health in particular.
What i great video for my morning coffe. Thank you!
Whoa, the stump looks huge! It's like a coffee table, or even a small dining table. Massive thing!
Nice to see how you're progressing. It's so many stones here, if you'll do the arch, materials definitely won't be a problem.
I've been storing certain stones away for the arch so yes there should be plenty of materials
Boy that was a lot of work, but great progress! It looks like you found the wall to the next cottage? 👍😎😁
I hate me some tree roots! Way to stay after it!
So glad to see the digging. Excited to see the wall.
LOTS OF WORK, BUT LOOK AT ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED AND IT'S SO MUCH FUN WATCHING YOU THROUGH ALL OF THIS! KEEP ON DIGGIN", PERHAPS THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!
What a cool thing to have an archeology project near your home 😊
I reckon you are amassing a very large pile of dirt somewhere 🤠
Absolutely love your uploads. Amazing well done and keep going.

Thanks for all your hard work unearthing the mysteries below! Fascinating!
Such an amazing find. I've enjoyed following and cannot wait to see more. Thanks for sharing.
I watched in awe.
You are going to have very nice and interesting patio when you have finished.
Well done, this is an amazing and fascinating project. I have watched all your videos so far & was hooked from the start. Top marks for all your hard work, & thanks for the beautifully put together videos - please keep them coming!
Thank you very much!
This just goes on and on. Fascinating!
Your persistence is truly admirable! It makes me want to help you dig.
Thanks for sharing this, it's fascinating to see how this site reveals itself, keep up the good work !
What do you do in your spare time? 😂😂 I love following your progress.
Very nice!
Heck yeah another one!!
Back breaking work! Be careful don't hurt yourself. 😁
Hello, again a great video. I wonder, would you mind to count the rings to see how long the tree grew? Thanks for sharing.
Yes I can try and do that, I don't think it's that old.
I'm thinking you can date the location by the tree rings a little. At least dating it back a bit. Of course the age could be conceivably much older then the tree. Lol
always so excited to watch one of your videos 🧡
All paths leads to whatever comes next!
Cool. Thanks again.
Keep digging my friend!
😮 its always interesting to see what you'll pull up next 🤔
This is proper architecture as it happens.Well done mate, love the videos.
Thanks 👍
The coolest
👍🏻🤗💪🏻
Love it! (Appreciate the hard work)
Very nice,nice discovery 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Your videos are amazing! 🙂👍
Man! I dig your digging.
from the looks of that wall, i bet that big tree stump was origonally planted by the homeowner intended as a small plant
I wish I was there to help.
Four minutes?!! Oh well, i guess i will just have to watch it again at .25 speed.😊
I am waiting for the top of a pyramid to appear out of some part of your site.
Some serious preparation for some serious excavation. Great that you've cleared the trees 😊
Wondering if you're a tree surgeon by trade ?
I am not a tree surgeon but I have done bits of my own in the past and have lots of the equipment.
Count the rings of the stump to estimate the year the structure was abandoned.
Interesting idea, but the tree could have started growing there many decades after it was abandoned, rather than immediately, so I don’t think it would give a very accurate timeline
@vivid5072 A minimum "years ago" date could be established. It's better than nothing and might corelate with the metal artifacts.
@@QuarterAcre that’s true. It’s better than nothing, I guess
I wonder if all that dirt is from the leaves falling and composting itself to dirt. If so, that makes me even more curious as to how old that structure is!!
I think it is mostly from decomposition, but some of it is rubble from the walls too.
very nice
Remembering what you turned the last tree trunk into, might you have plans for the two in this video?
Love this timelapse, it's just a little bit too fast. And do you know anything about this building? For example who lived there and when was it built?
Thanks!
Id guess that's just house "foundations"/ pathway. Stops water hitting dirt and from digging away at actual foundations and keeping around the house tidier
Are those slate roof pieces that you found?
yes there was a lot of slate in the ground
Mother nature is making it tough on you. If anyone can get that big stump out single handed it's you.
thanks YT, your recommendation is really interesting
It almost looks like another room? Or maybe a byre?
Very interesting. The people who once lived there may not have been very important in the scheme of things, but neither am I! Was that a shutter dog you were holding up?
It did look a bit like a shutter dog, certainly a latch for something, but I doubt the building would have had shutters, they're not very common around here.
looks more like a path to broken steps to me....
Very nice! Moar pls :)
More to come!
Is Tirs the nearby river, as old Welsh 'Tirs' 2 meanings 1 an animal's Snout a Bill, geographically a long turn in a river the opposite of 'Cam' or 'Con'!
Do you know why it was covered up? Was it a dump site at some point?
