  • 2022 Oct 20, Thurs - Our last day in Florence Italy. A perfect day to hike the Florentine Hill. The sun was up and shining. Heading south of the Arno River to Piazza Michelangelo to watch the sunset. We passed the Ponte Vecchio, strolled the riverside Lungarno Torrigiani walkway, then making our way around the neighborhood in Via de' Bardi, until we reached Via del Monte alle Croci, a panoramic street lined with trees, and climbed the staircase to Basilica di San Miniato and Ponte Sante Cemetery. In few steps away, we finally reached Piazzale MIchelangelo, the square to sit, relax and watch the sunset show for free. The sun falling over the city of Florence, casting a golden hue like someone just sprinkled gold dust all over the city is just magical. It's certainly one unforgettable experience not to be missed.

Wonderful video of Florence! 👍👍We should revisit the town, it's too long ago, we hardly remember. The nearly black-white of the graveyard sequence is a great idea and creates the right atmosphere. 😊😊🐷

It took us 13y before we returned to Florence again in 2022. Many things have changed since then, and this trip was like a first time visit for us. Yes, a scenic graveyard in shade of gray and white makes the atmosphere more eerie and dramatic, I thought. Thanks for the comment. :)
