There are so many wonderful places in Italy. I feel as if you need a solid month to really explore and experience everything this beautiful country has to offer.
Perfect beautiful churches. I can see why when people get to Italy they decided to come back again and again. Thanks for the traveling....Grace Namaste
I really appreciate the size comparison of each country. Rick doesn't di it each time, but I wish he would. These videos are the closest I'll ever get to seeing these fabulous destinations.
YOU'RE THE BEST RICK STEVE ! BEEN WATCHING ALL YOUR VIDEOS. WONDERFUL ! EXCELLENT ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH !! - FROM A PERSON WHO MIGHT NEVER GET TO VISIT THESE PLACES BUT ENJOYS WATCHING THEM THROUGH YOUR EYES AND WORDS !! WILL NEVER STOP WATCHING !
We owe the Medicis a huge debt . They could have spent all their monies on eating , drinking and wenching but they commissioned the greatest and the best to make superb works of art which would outlive them and give pleasure to the succeeding generations .Entire Florence is a grand poster showing off all its different attractions , manmade as well as natural .
They spent most of their money on controlling the Papacy, unifying Tuscany in the Great Duchy (first country in the world to abolish death penalty), and gaining the throne of France with Caterina De Medici, although for a short while.
We are planning our European trip and your travel guides are so helpful - thank you so much for giving us such wonderful views and advice - you are such a great guide with a lovely personality.
We're going this August! Can't believe we'll be in Italy! Someone slap me, this can't be a dream. Starting with a week in Venice, then Florence, lazy days in Cinque Terre, a stop in Pisa, and capped off in Rome.
Hope you can go to the south next time! Went last year and almost everyone we met, was so kind and the airbnb we stayed at.. people were so warm and felt like you made a family
Istanbul / Turkey from Hello, A very nice video ... The city where the renaissance really started, Florence is a very historical and mysterious city. I went to Florence as a tourist attraction in 1990.
15:42 Reverse dry humping. Rick's camera crew really have fun doing what they do. I've watched several of Rick's videos and the crew always manages to somehow sprinkle in amusing clips of amorous lovers every time. Happy travelling.
Florence is so interesting to me. I usually hate museums with a passion because of all the walking and not being able to understand certain styles of art, because I'm not an artist. But the Renaissance art is beautiful enough to keep me interested! I never expected it. I got to see the Birth of Venus in the Uffizi in person, it was great. And the Duomo, Piazzale Michelangelo, the cobblestone streets, the musicians playing in piazzas...unforgettable. I remember going to get pizza in the evening, and seeing some event going on every night in the piazza near my hotel. Plays, music, art. it was rainy when I went, but that added so much to the whole vibe. It was like walking right through a dreamy, romantic, Renaissance world come to life. I was so inspired that I'm writing a novel set during the Florentine Renaissance. I really wanna go back to Florence for "research" lol
I am an artist but too old to travel to Europe. I travel vicarisly by pinting from photos. Your travéi films take me there but still photos are what I need. Are they available and how to aquire them? Regaras, Charlie

True, but I'm pretty sure they still did all the drinking, eating, and wenching while being philanthropic lol

What is the beautiful music playing at 1:45, when Florence is being introduced?

Saltarello II or something close to it
Hi Florence - so friendly.
Thanks, I wish you had listed the places properly!
Can someone please tell me what is the music we hear in background starting at 16:08 ? Thanks!
Don't know the name. It's some mediaeval saltarello.

Hello Monica
I think italy is the most artistic country in Europe.
remove "I think"
First Italy, second France, third Spain ;)
Spain has more artistic places recogniced by Unesco than France.
it's a fact, not an opinion
Italy has70% of all the art in the world!!!
Remarkable
Now we are the size of Arizona, but last year you said California, what gives Riccardo?
ombra306 they can be the same size
