Sue for slander and defamation, then he has no choice but to either present evidence or pay out for damage against reputation , if there is no evidence then the process should be quick all be it initially costly, having won in court he would be also liable for all legal costs + compensation. That's the best lesson to teach cos he would then think twice about making baseless accusations. Would be much better doing this than reducing to having fans do a kind of go between , don't lower yourself to his level of pettiness.

Yeah pretty much. I’ve probably watched a dozen or so videos of Sam’s, but never subbed. Which says something about him when he makes 1 interesting video every once in a while, but isn’t worth a sub.
I've flown on a flight with Sam Chui (on an aircraft inaugural). The crew was very annoyed with him and the airline had a "handler" on board to make them be nice to him. We already were late departing and he kept standing up so he could stand in the galley and film them closing the door and all that. Crew trying to shoo him back to his seat. He kept getting up during the service and walking into coach trying to pass the carts. And yes, I have proof. I took photos of him from my seat (where I was, with my seat belt fastened when the seat belt sign was on).
My friend is a purser with a big airline (won't name it here) and he said female crew is extremely uncomfortable around him as he act's like an absolute predator. One of them approached HR about him but was asked not to make it public since they were afraid of a bad review.

While Josh creates reviews, Sam creates "insider access" type of videos, both are a great watch and I understand why someone might not like one another but hate is just unnecessary when we are all just avgeeks and we should appreciate that there are wide variety of content creators for aviation. I first heard the negative reputation about Sam when I was watching Trek Trendy back and Will would refer to him as “Scam Chui” which I always thought was hilarious. After watching many other aviation TH-camrs since then hearing about Sam, it’s really unfortunate how people can do a lot of false advertising and aren’t honest about their experience. Honestly trek trendy is honest version of sam chui.. both always fil 1st class/business class products and never economy. Trek is still good he says when food is bad or service lacks but sam he just glazes everything
That receptionist at the lounge seems like such a sweet person. I gotta say, I'm glad I never really followed along with Sam's content, instead stumbling across yours and Noel's channels. Such better content creators and true aviation fans.

I have heard so many stories about Sam treating others like servants and it doesn't surprise me that he acts this way. Accusing someone of a crime this scale is a crime itself. If he makes such a huge claim he should provide some proof too but it seems like he doesn't have anything. I think people are scared and intimidate by Sam and I'm glad finally someone calls out his bluff. The ball is in Sam's court, he either delivers or publishes a public apology... everything else is unacceptable. Thanks for not being afraid!
Friend of mine met sam chui at RIAT Air show and said he was nothing like he comes across on camera and said he was horrible demanding entitled and rude AF
He's 100% fake. He's paid by airlines to do good reviews and they do reshoots if something isn't absolutely perfect. Airlines get to review the final footage before release to ensure its what their PR teams paid for.
Hi Josh, I am a big AV geek myself (I love to travel) and am a subscriber to you and Sam Chui (along with others like Noel Philips, Jeb Brooks, Non Stop Dan, and Dennis Bunnik). I really appreciate all the videos that each and one of you do. If it wasn't for you guys, I would never know what to expect of each airline before I get on the plane (food, seat configuration, lounge access, etc...). Having said all this, I really believe there is a misunderstanding between you and Sam. When you mentioned that Sam was getting paid for his videos, I really believed that because his videos did seem like it was more for the airline's PR. After watching Sam's video and seeing his response, I now understand the perspective he's trying to provide in his videos (it's not really to review the airline but to showcase the airline's behind the scenes and how it all works). I was also shocked to see the comment he made regarding you blackmailing Vistara but it looks like he posted that due to anger and has now apologized for doing so. I believe the two of you present your viewers with different perspectives and they are both great in each of their own ways. For you: it's to review the airline presenting your honest review of the good/bad. The airlines do not know you're coming in to do reviews on them. For Sam: it's showcasing the airline (with the airline inviting him to do so). This also means the airline will show the best they have to offer so the viewers wont be able to see the negatives about the airline (it's not a review). I hope the two of you can meet someday and work things out. I love both of your channels and truly hope I can continue to see content from both for many years to come. I heard many stories of Sam Chui. At some airport, I think it was Bali, there was an opportunity for spotters or visitors to like visit the ground (?). I can’t remember the details that well anymore. Anyways, there was a plane at the ramp ready for pushback. For filming, Sam walked without any allowance behind the plane and prevented the crew from leaving the ramp. End of the story was that those ground visits were discontinued because of him. He ruined the experience and fun which so many others could have had. Another time he apparently was invited onto Schiphol Ground to join some driver who gave him a tour. A few hours in, that driver had to leave because of some private emergency. Instead of thanking him, Sam instead said something like „that‘s it? I still don’t have all the shots I want“ It was some time ago, when I heard of those stories. Maybe someone else can confirm or correct those?
Sam chui used to make great videos, i mean soviet planes air koryo but there was a clear turn when he was getting paid when all the airlines, even the shitty low cost ones sounded better than singapore airlines. Thankfully we have reviewers like Josh Cahill. I also stopped watching Sam because he just wouldnt say thank you, thinking he was spoiled, another sign that he was being paid.

Most of his followers are Asians who dream of being as smugly entitled as he is. Asia is a big market, and he has a large number of followers there. The way he looks at aviation is the same... for example, every Asian, after being served wine, will ask "is it French wine?", because I guess they think that grapes only grow in France. I met Sam on a Singapore airlines flight (I was following him as this was before he changed from honest to money), I flew in first class for a business trip. During the flight he was surprisingly nice for most of the time, however he did end up getting way more stuff than the rest of us. I think someone on board must've recognized him, because he ended up getting invited into the galley even without asking. Ps your videos are great, Sam used to be great in his air koryo days, but now he's a billboard ad.
since when does somebody needs an invitation for the galley. i am very confused. that the spot i spend most my time on international flights. on the other hand i only fly in europe and mostly to asia with either lot, lh group, air france, klm, japan air or ana. klm is the most consistent of the bunch, while japan air is probably the best and ana is overrated (or at least they enough my with always weighing my carry on luggage and wanting it to check in). if i am honest, lufthansa is actually quite good and probably better than there reputation. most of the time the crew is almost the best, but the hard product is just bad. honestly i think, if lufthansa would ably the same concept in management than japan air does it would be one of the best airlines in the world.
I enjoyed Sam’s old videos that were just footage with text on the bottom of the screen. Sam never talked or showed much of himself in his old videos from 10+ years ago. Back then, he was pretty much THE guy for unusual airlines. Things have changed a lot since then of course.
Of course they "recognized" him. every one of his videos is meticulously planned weeks in advance. From the seat he gets to the specific staff on that flight that will interact with him on camera. it's 100% staged and he's paid quite a lot of money by the airlines for "good reviews".
In my 37 year airline career as a Customer Service Manager, Flight Attendant and Training Instructor I have experienced interactions with all types of personalities. I have developed a keen instinct to discern between honest, professional, neutral, factual airline reviewers and those who simply do it as a mean of self promotion for themselves and certain airlines which highlights their lack of honesty and credibility. I’d rather watch a Cahill video anytime as he exemplifies the true honest reporting this industry needs.

One thing that did stand out in the whole vistara fiasco is vistara never made an attempt to ban you off the airline so that thank you card on the last flight is kinda special.
I had been following Sam for some time and I used to enjoy his videos but now to me he is a sell out and his reviews are far from honest and he is only in it for himself, never mind the fact he is very pretentious these days, at least I can rely on you Josh, you have something Sam does not and that is integrity!

Maybe he could bury the hatchet but it isn’t going to change the issue that Sam Chui is essentially a fraud or marketing tool that airlines use to promote their business and its important to keep calling this out because otherwise people are going to be lulled into believing that the airline will provide this and that or that they will be treated like how they see in his videos when in reality they won’t get half of what he nor get treated the same way and that’s not fair to any paying customer

The whole aviation community watches the likes of yourself, Sam, Noel and Dan. The videos and reviews speak for themselves. Everybody can see with their own eyes what Sam Chui is all about. As far as airline reviews go, Sam isn't in the same league as you guys. The strength in his channel is getting access to areas that many don't or can't. But he needs to realise that's the only tangible thing his channel achieves. Nobody takes his 'reviews' seriously, because they have effectively been bought. Leave him to crack on in his little corporately corrupted fantasy world and just keep doing what you do best, which is why the aviation community gives you stratospherically more credibility, and is the reason we all love what you do mate. Sam has said many times that his videos aren't reviews and more of aviation experiences and insider access type of content. Really don't understand how is it that hard to understand. Hate in general is just stupid as after all we all share the same passion for aviation and should appreciate that there are different kinds of content on it. How boring would it be to see only same kind of content from everyone. Of course someone is allowed to dislike but hate is unnecessary. Like Sam has done incredible videos showcasing the operations of cargo airlines for example which is not what we've seen too much from anyone else.

Yes some of the access he gets makes for good content but anything he says and does you just cannot believe or take seriously because he is indeed just what airlines want him to say. No real opinion at all just reading a blurb and making everything seem amazing. The problem is that he has fame on his side and delusional fans that will back him no matter what the truth is because they treat his word as gospel. Sam claims he doesn’t get paid by the airlines and his videos are not “reviews”. But I wonder. Taking a business class ride on an airliner and traveling to locations and staying in them however brief, requires a lot of money. Who’s footing the bill? I doubt the money is coming out of Sam’s pocket. Considering Sam’s clout, the airlines won’t turn down an offer for publicity and many probably won’t mind covering the associated costs. So while his claims maybe true it’s probably not the entire truth.

I have heard so many stories about Sam treating others like servants and it doesn't surprise me that he acts this way. Accusing someone of a crime this scale is a crime itself. If he makes such a huge claim he should provide some proof too but it seems like he doesn't have anything. He's 100% fake. He's paid by airlines to do good reviews and they do reshoots if something isn't absolutely perfect. Airlines get to review the final footage before release to ensure its what their PR teams paid for.

Hi Josh, I am a big AV geek myself (I love to travel) and am a subscriber to you and Sam Chui (along with others like Noel Philips, Jeb Brooks, Non Stop Dan, and Dennis Bunnik). I really appreciate all the videos that each and one of you do. If it wasn't for you guys, I would never know what to expect of each airline before I get on the plane (food, seat configuration, lounge access, etc...).
Having said all this, I really believe there is a misunderstanding between you and Sam. When you mentioned that Sam was getting paid for his videos, I really believed that because his videos did seem like it was more for the airline's PR. After watching Sam's video and seeing his response, I now understand the perspective he's trying to provide in his videos (it's not really to review the airline but to showcase the airline's behind the scenes and how it all works). I was also shocked to see the comment he made regarding you blackmailing Vistara but it looks like he posted that due to anger and has now apologized for doing so. I believe the two of you present your viewers with different perspectives and they are both great in each of their own ways.
For you: it's to review the airline presenting your honest review of the good/bad. The airlines do not know you're coming in to do reviews on them.
For Sam: it's showcasing the airline (with the airline inviting him to do so). This also means the airline will show the best they have to offer so the viewers wont be able to see the negatives about the airline (it's not a review).
I hope the two of you can meet someday and work things out. I love both of your channels and truly hope I can continue to see content from both for many years to come.

this, Sam has never said he is an airline "reviewer". These two create completely different content and there should be room for both of them. While Josh and many others make reviews, Sam makes more like "insider access"/ "showcase" content. Both types of content are completely fine and I understand why some might not like Sam's content for that reason but it doesn't mean anyone needs to hate him for that. For creating content on aviation which is a passion for most of us here I'd imagine. Why argue and not just watch the content you like and that's it. Again, Sam has never claimed to be a "reviewer" instead he has actually mentioned multiple times that he doesn't want anyone to think he is a reviewer. He is just a huge avgeek like many of us.

I heard many stories of Sam Chui.
At some airport, I think it was Bali, there was an opportunity for spotters or visitors to like visit the ground (?). I can’t remember the details that well anymore. Anyways, there was a plane at the ramp ready for pushback. For filming, Sam walked without any allowance behind the plane and prevented the crew from leaving the ramp.
End of the story was that those ground visits were discontinued because of him. He ruined the experience and fun which so many others could have had.
Another time he apparently was invited onto Schiphol Ground to join some driver who gave him a tour. A few hours in, that driver had to leave because of some private emergency. Instead of thanking him, Sam instead said something like „that‘s it? I still don’t have all the shots I want“
It was some time ago, when I heard of those stories. Maybe someone else can confirm or correct those?

I met Sam on a Singapore airlines flight (I was following him as this was before he changed from honest to money), I flew in first class for a business trip. During the flight he was surprisingly nice for most of the time, however he did end up getting way more stuff than the rest of us. I think someone on board must've recognized him, because he ended up getting invited into the galley even without asking. Ps your videos are great, Sam used to be great in his air koryo days, but now he's a billboard ad.
since when does somebody needs an invitation for the galley. i am very confused. that the spot i spend most my time on international flights. on the other hand i only fly in europe and mostly to asia with either lot, lh group, air france, klm, japan air or ana. klm is the most consistent of the bunch, while japan air is probably the best and ana is overrated (or at least they enough my with always weighing my carry on luggage and wanting it to check in). if i am honest, lufthansa is actually quite good and probably better than there reputation. most of the time the crew is almost the best, but the hard product is just bad.
honestly i think, if lufthansa would ably the same concept in management than japan air does it would be one of the best airlines in the world.
I enjoyed Sam’s old videos that were just footage with text on the bottom of the screen. Sam never talked or showed much of himself in his old videos from 10+ years ago. Back then, he was pretty much THE guy for unusual airlines. Things have changed a lot since then of course.
Of course they "recognized" him. every one of his videos is meticulously planned weeks in advance. From the seat he gets to the specific staff on that flight that will interact with him on camera. it's 100% staged and he's paid quite a lot of money by the airlines for "good reviews".
In my 37 year airline career as a Customer Service Manager, Flight Attendant and Training Instructor I have experienced interactions with all types of personalities. I have developed a keen instinct to discern between honest, professional, neutral, factual airline reviewers and those who simply do it as a mean of self promotion for themselves and certain airlines which highlights their lack of honesty and credibility. I’d rather watch a Cahill video anytime as he exemplifies the true honest reporting this industry needs.

The whole aviation community watches the likes of yourself, Sam, Noel and Dan. The videos and reviews speak for themselves. Everybody can see with their own eyes what Sam Chui is all about. As far as airline reviews go, Sam isn't in the same league as you guys. The strength in his channel is getting access to areas that many don't or can't. But he needs to realise that's the only tangible thing his channel achieves. Nobody takes his 'reviews' seriously, because they have effectively been bought. Sam has said many times that his videos aren't reviews and more of aviation experiences and insider access type of content. Really don't understand how is it that hard to understand. Hate in general is just stupid as after all we all share the same passion for aviation and should appreciate that there are different kinds of content on it. How boring would it be to see only same kind of content from everyone. Of course someone is allowed to dislike but hate is unnecessary. Yes some of the access he gets makes for good content but anything he says and does you just cannot believe or take seriously because he is indeed just what airlines want him to say. No real opinion at all just reading a blurb and making everything seem amazing. The problem is that he has fame on his side and delusional fans that will back him no matter what the truth is because they treat his word as gospel. Sam claims he doesn’t get paid by the airlines and his videos are not “reviews”. But I wonder. Taking a business class ride on an airliner and traveling to locations and staying in them however brief, requires a lot of money. Who’s footing the bill? I doubt the money is coming out of Sam’s pocket. Considering Sam’s clout, the airlines won’t turn down an offer for publicity and many probably won’t mind covering the associated costs. So while his claims maybe true it’s probably not the entire truth.

Cant stand Sam Chui. He asks the stupidest questions and the way his face and hands move make me cringe.
Also off camera he’s just generally very unfriendly and disinterested in anything really.
The worst is when they serve him wine, and he always asks: "is that French wine?" As a typical provincial mentality he thinks that only France produces good wine.
@@vis7viresas Italian, I can definetely confirm that we have the BEST wine in our regions. This should be for me a valid reason to not follow him...oh wait, never done and i will never do!
