Without the passion, I wouldn’t come this far. I want to thank everyone for watching my videos. I truly appreciate your support and comments. (I do read them!)
@SamChui I have been watching your videos for a long time, trying not to miss any as much as possible. Watching your videos makes me wishing that I could do what you do. I'm not rich enough to just take a flight and do what you do. And as much as I want to do it, I can only dream about it. I really would love to go on a journey with you Sam. Watching your videos does take me half way there, but the other half of me doing it for real is what is missing for me. Keep doing what you do Sam as I do love watching your videos! Much Aloha from Hawai'i
Some people seem to forget/ignore that some of us actually like airplanes for what they are, rather than what they can offer in terms of travelling, luxury on board.
youre literally in a metal tube, flying near the speed of sound, thousands of feet above the ground, powered by flammable liquid fuel...blows my mind every time i get in one and it has the ability to transport me to the other side of the world #grateful :)
Sam and Josh are doing two completely different things: Josh reviews the airlines from a passenger's point of view, Sam shows the work behind the scenes. I am a subscriber of both of them and enjoy the contents a lot. So the differences between the two of you make me a little sad. There is space for you both, you both have a lot of subscribers and you both share the love for aviation. So I think we all want you to leave the differences behind and continue your great work!
There is a clear difference in professionalism, you are not reviewing, you are showcasing the operations and complexity behind the aviation industry. Sam, you started my love for aviation and now I’m doing my masters in aviation management! Many thanks!
Brother sam I’m not agree with your Qatar airways they are not good at all they are not 5 stars airways I flu more than 10 times Qatar 🇶🇦 airways from New York to Bangladesh and the service and seats condition and food as not good they just paid for star at all
Hi Sam. In Germany we have a saying: “You get compassion as a gift, but you have to work for jealousy.” I had to think of that when I saw your video. We love your videos and for us it's great entertainment. They are super interesting. So thank you for your hard work. You've earned your success. And the others don't matter. All the best from Germany, Hans-Peter
I can see why people like Josh, he’s unfiltered, says things how it is and probably says things people want to hear. However, it’s clear he and Sam share a love for aviation, both care about making people happy in the sky and that’s awesome, just like all of us who watch their videos. How Josh goes about his business is not my cup of tea at all, but I admire his drive to get his feelings across to the audience. Sam, I personally really appreciate all the behind the scenes content you bring us, it’s truly unique content. I especially love you documenting your aviation adventures, going on unique planes and destinations all over the world. It’s inspired me to embark on my own adventures starting with a solo trip to Germany next month to fly Lufthansa A340-600, which i cannot wait for. I do however want to highlight that sometimes I find you getting a pit close to the cabin crew in some videos makes some viewers feel uncomfortable and you sometimes film them when they’re at their busiest. I hope you got permission to do all that because sometimes I worry about you interfering with the operation of the flight. Us the viewers would appreciate more detailed transparency about reason you’re onboard beyond just “airline gave me filming permission”. Regardless, keep doing what you do, never stop learning and improving. Thank you also for addressing this before it spirals out of control. Take care, hope our paths cross in the sky in the near future. ✈️
I believe that Sam Chui is genuine and sincere. His style is questionable, too accommodating to airlines for my taste. But I understand that to have all the doors open like he has, you need to have that benevolent attitude. Josh Cahill is the opposite. He has a critical attitude, which is not always reasonable. He is a conflictive person who makes his negative criticisms his trademark. It's natural that airline PR's don't like him. What I don't appreciate about Josh is the fact that he always wears the same fake smile. He is a hypocrite, disingenuous and untrustworthy. If I were Sam, I wouldn't give him so much importance.
2 different points of views I relate more to Josh’s videos as I am just a regular passenger. Sam’s videos unfortunately seem fake if an airline has a bad reputation they call Sam to do a cheerleading video. That’s the difference one seems real the other seems fake. Having said that I enjoy watching both videos
Right on! Even if Sam tends to tell the positive, aspirational story, there’s room for all kinds of aviation vlogging. I’m a subscriber to Josh’s channel too, but sometimes I tire of his style where he relishes bad experiences, and goes out of his way to find terrible experiences. His channel is full of outrage bait headlines and thumbnails… because that’s what gets Josh clicks, views, and likes. I’m not saying I don’t enjoy that once in a while too. The idea that there’s “beef” and one is good and the other is bad is completely ridiculous. Sam’s channel is one that emphasizes the love of flying and all that’s positive about it. Sam should not focus on the negative people who want to tear that down and think there’s only room for “brutally honest” outrage bait.
@@paulomendes928 I agree with this - I like the video's of Sam, Josh AND Noel. Sam works in another way than Noel and Josh. Like you said Josh is rather conflictive and sometimes I think that his criticism is a little bit overstated - judging an airline based on the experience of one flight .... Noel is more diplomatic !
Hi Sam, remember me. I am Phala Dorji from Bhutan. We met when I was with Bhutan Airlines as the CEO. Now I am officially retired and enjoying my retired life. What prompted me to write this small comment was your statement and not so happy face of you about people’s views that you trade off your passion with that of vested interest or some return if you will. I found this absolutely ridiculous and insane to have passed such ludicrous remarks. I am a huge fan of you and all the videos you post are not only inspiration to so many aviation lovers but also very educational for those who would like to pursue as their career. Even your visit to Bhutan was caught off guard by everyone including me. You didn’t ask for any appointment nor did you send any request to meet me and my colleagues. We didn’t have any meetings or discussions about promoting our airline on certain fees etc. I also met a few of my colleagues outside Bhutan and they never said anything about any deal when you review the airlines operations both in cabin and on the ground. It’s very unfortunate that people should have negative views about you. You are the best airline blogger in this day and age. So don’t worry what people say. Continue with the most amazing work. My good wishes and prayer for your passion and good health. Hope to meet up somewhere some place. The world has become too small with the connectivity. 🙏🏽
Not every viewer saw every single video made by Sam Chui since day 1. Any viewer has the right to speculate on contents viewed/heard from his platform, up until Sam made this video and those who saw it and believed it. In my opnion, this won't be the last time Sam making a video explaining what he do on his social platforms, at the end not everyone cares enough to watch it. Social media is not court room, you don't need to reveal this to the world and it won't make a big difference. Do what you love, you have the power to block/ignore those. No offense, the aviation world will still be the same with or without you or anyone.
It's easy to have guess work putting without cost nowadays. Those who accuse someone, please show us some proof rather than criticise without ground. Sam, please ignore those negatives and share more interesting one with genuine fans, you did show us some more insight on aviation. Income generation through TH-cam is getting slimmer. Get more advertising partners with you to have sustainable income for the aviation flights onward. Be a fan, I will collate with what I get on flight.
I’ve always enjoyed your videos Sam and even Josh’s - this world is big enough to support both your channels. It shows grace and humility for you to discuss your concerns here and to apologize. Kudos to you! Keep up the great work!
Sam. Keep on doing what you do. My 14 year old is an Avgeek like you and has been encouraged along that road by many, many of your videos. He is aiming to become a commercial pilot, so huge thanks for your enthusiasm and content!
I never thought you were in it for money. Sorry you have to work through this drama. Your passion always shines through and we appreciate it. Thank you Sam!!
Hi Sam, please keep your approach. I like your “non review” but “documentary” videos. You make it possible to get an inside of the aviation industry and the airlines. That’s unique!
@@Patrick-ml8ct Documentary means: using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a factual report on a particular subject. "a documentary programme about Manchester United" Similar: factual If a person is rewarded in some way (paid or benefits in kind) for the video piece, then the factual side of a report may have been compromised.
Never said that, so don't put words in my mouth. The documentary style report is about the video being independent and truth finding, not a paid piece for advertising or publicity.
@@kdbsuff9625It’s still more or less a documentary in itself… What you’re talking about is making a report video. Sam Chui creates his content videos without getting paid by airlines. He only gets passive income from TH-cam as he mentioned on the video, if you even bothered watching. Unlike Cahill, Sam Chui wants to be himself and doesn’t want to be an airline critic or an unwelcome Karen.
Actually, it never came to my mind that Sam might be betting paid or sponsored. I’m not really that interested in aviation, but this is the only channel I’m subscribed to. Just because since the early days of this channel, there’s just his pure enthusiasm about what ever he’s doing inside or outside a plane, which I really like. Also the way he respects everyone from check-in guy to CEO. I just assumed he has a very high paying job or so to be able to afford this.
Sam, keep up the good work. You are inspirational to a lot of people who travel and those who work in the industry. You are not typical youtuber/KOL thats why you have 3mil++ subscriber ❤
Keep the great work, creating original (and amazing) content will always come with the envy of the ones that can’t create. Your passion on every detail is inspiring and the way you keep surprising us with every new video is proof that your passion will always lead to great work. You are showing us a whole industry from a personal perspective, and that is what keep us all following your channel. See you in the next boarding gate!
I have to say, I was one of those people who thought a lot of Sam's videos were just PR stunts, but now after listening to his side of the story I think this has got to be one of the most GRACIOUS apologies and SINCEREST self-revelations I've ever seen or heard. It takes a lot of maturity and guts to be so open and vulnerable at the same time, you never know if you're exposing yourself to rejection or ridicule. Bravo Sam Chui, I've found a new appreciation and respect for the work you do and the access and behind the scene reporting you share with your viewers. Like you said, at the end of the day we're all avgeeks here. When you mentioned how your heart races at the sight of a 747, my heart started to pound and my eyes welled up with tears as I remembered the first time I saw a 747 up close and in person as a 12 year old boy. We were on a school trip to Venezuela via Curaçao and I'll never forget the sight of that blue 747 arriving from Amsterdam as it slowly pulled up to the gate, inching closer and closer to the glass wall where little 12 year old me was standing on the other side gazing up in awe and wonder at that giant machine. I was so overwhelmed, I think I forgot to breathe! And just in that moment, a new avgeek was born! So yeah, I can relate quite well Sam!
You did not have to do this man. At all.... the people who actually enjoy your videos can see the genuine passion that you have... anyone who actually finds the time to critique you on what you do is simply just jealous that they are not you.... i myself envy you my guy... i wish i could do what you do for a living... but you are an inspiration for a lot of people.. you are the epitome of what a real "influencer" actually is.... for the rest of us regular people who can only loook up at the sky everytime an airplane flies over and call out what model it is.. you are the super plane spotter... and for most people, we actually learn a lot from your videos and we are happy you get paid to do them so you can continue to make much more... dont worry about the people who are jealous and want to put you down for whatever stupid reason... you have zero reasons to explain ANYTHING to them.. just keep doing what you do for the any reason you want.. the integrity and professionalism yo go about your business is the reason why you are who you are in the aviation world... av geeks around the world appreciate every single video you post... thank you.
“I do this to inspire people” Sam, your love for aviation expresses though your videos is the exact reason I became so adamant to become a pilot from when I was 10! Fly high same!!! We love u #for the love of flying
@@SamChuisir, i dont know what other thinking about you, but i started to follow your channel actually start 2021 untill now im totally enjoying every moment you are ride a plane to somewhere else, i love it, your video are very giving a young guy like me who if you have love some hobby be that to be a profesional hobby,, im also love how you greetings everyone, that very warm everytime. So everything you do on, im totally very happy to watch your video😊 加油哥我相信您😊
To be honest, i love watching you both. And yes I would agree that you both have 2 completely different approach on aviation. There's so many things happening in the world. Let there be peace.
Thank you Sam for making this video, even though you had no obligation to do so. Thank you for showing the world and the TH-cam community that you are just a genuine content creator who does what he loves and stays true to himself. You will always have my support.
You do the only really behind the scenes videos where you can see everything in one report. I am inspired from you and will start my atpl soon, don‘t give up and continue with your awesome videos Sam, I am waiting for them passionately every Saturday.
I thought that an apology was a very nice thing to do, as well as distinguishing between promotional airline videos and airline reviews. I enjoy your showing us the behind-the-scenes of the plane and the airlines. Seeing a collegial relationship between the vloggers is comforting for us viewers.
Hi Sam, I am a big AV geek myself (I love to travel) and am a subscriber to you and Josh (along with others like Noel Philips, Jeb Brooks, Non Stop Dan, and Dennis Bunnik). I really appreciate all the videos that each and one of you do. It really helps me in my decision when purchasing my next flight (food, lounge access, airline's offering, seat configuration, etc...) Thanks for posting this video first of all. When Josh said you were paid for your videos, I did believe him in a way because most of your videos were setup to showcase the airline's behind the scenes (it seemed it was for the airline's PR) but this video really clarifies things for me (and maybe Josh too!). In addition, I appreciate the fact that you came out to apologize about the comment you made to Josh in regards to him asking for payment to take down his negative review of Vistara. We are humans and sometimes our emotions get the best of us. While I do not know what you experienced at the time of posting that comment, I understand you may have been frustrated/angry from what Josh had posted so you followed up with a comment that may not have been true. However, the fact that you came out to publicly apologize shows you are a good person. This video really helped clarify things for me in terms of the perspective that both you and Josh are trying to present to the viewers. For you: It's showcasing the behind the scenes of the airline and what they have to offer. It is not a review but at the same time, the viewer will only see the positives because the airline invited you to do the video. For Josh: The airlines do not know he's coming in to do a review and as a result he gets to show the viewers what to expect as a typical passenger on the plane. The both of you make great content and I really appreciate the work you put into your videos. I truly believe there is a misunderstanding between you and Josh and hope one day the both of you can sit down and work things out for good. Keep up the great work Sam and I look forward to your next video, thank you!
Very well stated! I have to say I also sort of just assumed there was some sort of extra compensation (either cash or services) to Sam simply due to the complex nature of these videos. I never have held that against Sam, it just sort of seemed to be a no-brainer to me for some reason. Surely this great big internet has room for all types of aviation videos.
Gday Sam it’s Doyle here. I’ve known you for many years and I don’t know anyone else that is genuinely more passionate about the aviation industry and have a genuine love for the crew community and the aviation world in every facet. I remember you supporting terminated crew and their personal businesses during the pandemic because that was just who you are. Even today an elderly 80 year old pax in first class passenger lit up talking about being on his 700th flight and mentioned how you inspire him so much. You bring aviation joy wherever you go. Sorry you are getting pulled into others clout chasing. Don’t apologise mate chin up. Keep the content coming and be unapologetically you. 🎉❤
Hey Sam, Im German (just like your critic) and I watch both of your videos because I’m a real aviation geek just like you. Even though I think being critical is definitely important I prefer your videos. Whether you get invited to fly with an airline or not I can always see the passion you have and the way you believe in the good. I like that attitude very much! Keep up the great spirit!
I am a nobody. But it has always been clear to me that your videos were never about some "secret shopper" reviewing flights and that your videos were possible only because of a relationship with the airline. Whether paid or not, whether you get the flight for free or not is not relevant because the type of content of your video is honest is that you have prepared this video in cooperation with airlline. Secret shopper videographers that become famous will get offers from airlines, but less likely to reveal this since it would ruin their image of being a neutral reviewer.
See bro think before u talk do expect Sam to just drop by and say ooh I want see behind the scenes stuff with out letting the airline know.pls reason well before u talk
Hi Sam, I think you are doing a great job opening the eyes of passengers about the background workings of the aircraft we fly in. I always wondered about these things you talk about in TH-cam, now I have become very much aware of what goes in the plane while passengers are enjoying their flight. I came across your your TH-cam just yesterday about you going on a flight with your girlfriend, I have not stopped watching since, looking forward to more informative TH-cams from you. Thanks
I've been following your videos for some time and I agree that your videos are never just travelling on an airline and reporting good or bad things; there are quite a few doing that already. I particularly remember the Air Koryo one with the air show of all the different planes, many models I had never seen in person and so I was thrilled to see the inside story of the operation. By the way you narrate your videos I never thought you were getting money from the airlines, only access to show us things we may never have seen. Keep up your channel as long as you are able, we're following and loving it !!
Sam, what a civilized riposte to Josh’s comments and criticisms. It wouldn’t bother me one bit if you did get paid by the airlines, you have worked hard enough to deserve it. I think Josh thrives on the drama and creates problems that aren’t there and his jibes towards you are just playground antics. Keep doing what you are doing as I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thanks
Your approach to pushing back is much more civilized than Josh Cahill. In general, I have found Josh Cahill to be a very negative person in his reviews. He thrives on his ability to primarily only show the negatives. So much so that I have actually lost interest in his content.
Long term fan here Sam! This was so nice to see you totally unfiltered for the first time and really solidified in my mind how great of a guy you really are. You are kinder to Josh than many people would've been in the situation. It's so clear that you don't want this drama whereas he does. The type of content you are able to make isnt being done by ANYONE else on TH-cam. I will support you and watch every video as I have done for the last 6-7 years. Really looking forward to seeing more of your personal life for the first time with your girlfriend in the next video!
Sam, I trust you and you are authentic. My wife loves the work you do. We have fun together watching your videos. It never occurred to me that you were promoting any airline. I saw and see exactly what you are saying in this video and that is the "Experience of traveling."
Your channel was the 1st Aviation channel I started watching many years ago. I'm still watching it because of the great content. Don't worry about Josh. He is, like you say, a reviewer. Its a shame you guys seemed to be great mates before all this blew up. Hopefully you will both make up one day. Keep up the great work Sam.
I recently came across this video, all I can say I have been a follower for some time now and its just a pleasure to enjoy your videos. Your passion for airplanes comes across 100% truthful with a no attitude approach. Whomever has been attacking you is most likely one who takes too per$onal the "influencer" role. Its safe to say you are an actual content creator who really enjoys what you do because you don't take it as a job or make money or gain followers. You are unique and original so go on with what you do best.
We love you Sam. You bring joy to the screen, sharing your love for aviation and you have inspired many of us to pursue more ambitious journeys. Your experiences are aspirational for so many people around the planet who don't have access to jetting around the world. As somehow who flies regularly for business and covets my top tier status on United, I am just as inspired by your experience as so many of your other fans. It makes me sad that there are haters on the internet, but there are always some who are jealous of others' success. Keep up your positive attitude, it's much better to see your joy than your frustration on the screen.
Hi Sam. Just continue being Sam Chui. Continue doing the content and showcasing aviation industry as it is. I do enjoy the videos, the only place I would want you to check on is filming cabin crew when they are in busy schedule serving meals. Other than that, you are doing good. Congratulations and looking forward to continue watching more of your videos.
Sam, I've been a journalist for over 30 years. What you do is aviation journalism. It's great work. I find all of your videos extremely informative. It's not public relation for airlines. Certainly, they only show you what they want you to see. But it's still a kind of journalism. I appreciate it.
I really like how professional and genuine you were in this video , with video evidence of you and Josh making peace and dropping whatever issues you had. For people commenting negative stuff on your platform if you don’t have any proof about him taking money for reviews please stop. Greater heights Sam ✌🏾
You and Cahill have different styles, with you being more professional and in depth view of the industry, and Cahill more hands on and grounded. I like both concepts
True I guess. I definitely prefer Cahill's more unfiltered approach because as a customer, I want to know what I'm getting. However, I do think both of them stooped a bit low by making their petty differences publicly known, especially as they used to be friends and travelled together on a few occasions. It made it more about them than the airlines themselves.
Oh I agree. But there's only 1 childish guy who goes around constantly throwing subtle & not so subtle digs at people. Like a high school bully. Not cool.
You know Noel Phillips is also very much straight forward with his reviews yet he never gets in trouble. And that's because he is treating others with respect, respects their privacy and isn't an imposter like Aljoscha Wendholt from eastern germany
@@cun7usunfortunately “Josh” has lost all credibility with me by constantly, and disgustingly, attacking Sam. Very low. And this latest attack was the last straw. There are plenty vloggers out there who would never sink this low like “Josh” has.
I watch your videos because you stay positive and never speak negatively about anyone. It's fascinating to see behind-the-scenes operations in the aviation world. I was surprised to hear others feel jealous of your approach. Keep up the great work, and good luck!
You were the first av geek I viewed on TH-cam several years ago. I have always considered your presentations to be honest and interesting. You provide a much broader overview of the industry than just flying from one location to another, and the industry is so much more than that. Thanks for what you do and keep doing it, Sam.
Sam's videos pull back the curtain to show what's going on behind the scenes uniquely and with a good amount of access. He's pretty objective in his comments, and calls as he sees it. Those that may criticize Sam's video may be jealous because they don't get the same access. I find his videos entertaining and informative without feeling like a commercial.
Fair play for doing this video Sam. I follow you both and enjoy the content you each provide. Hoping you guys can resolve this - there is plenty of space for you both to bring us great content 😊
crew them Sam! You do not have to apologise . You just make great videos. Keep doing it. You bring a lot of joy to all of us who enjoy the aviation world
Sam. I love your channel as you show a lot of behind the scenes of the workings of commercial aviation. Your channel is like none other channel on YT. Keep up the great work.
It's sad that someone has to explain their love and passion of doing something just because a few people online are actually insignificant and jealous, or their feelings got hurt. I'd say just do what you love to do, you don't have to explain anything to those kind of people. I watch your videos because I also enjoy the different things you show us, I can't imagine what a great experience it must be for yourself as well.
Sam, I just want to say that we absolutely love you, and your honesty shines through in everything you do. Regarding the Josh situation, it’s not about you-it’s deeper than that. Some people feel threatened by the success of others and can’t handle seeing someone surpass their expectations. It’s almost instinctive, like how colonialism thrived on tearing others down. This negativity often manifests as criticism, and in this case, through biased reviews. That’s how I see Josh. I don’t follow him, but because I watch you so often, the algorithm occasionally suggests his content. Most negative reviewers like him seem petty, driven by personal emotions and biases. Complaining about cabin crew not smiling constantly or not treating him like royalty is unreasonable. At the end of the day, their job is to serve passengers professionally, and that’s it. I remember him criticizing a crew member, calling her “poorly trained” just because she didn’t ask how his meal was. Honestly, in his own country, are people even that social? His complaints come across as entitled and disconnected from reality. Out of a group of 300 passengers, it’s inevitable that someone might nitpick about a minor detail, like the color of a flap or the placement of a soap bar. But to discredit an airline’s entire effort based on personal bias is childish, and that’s how I see Josh. Sam, don’t give him your attention. You’re miles ahead of him in every way, and your authenticity, dedication, and positivity will always outshine negativity. Keep doing what you do best-we’re here for you! And we love you . That other guy is not worth it and that's on period 💯
Keep your style, Sam! ...your love for aviation is clearly felt in your videos - and I like that. It makes them authentic. Looking for many more videos from you.
Sam, I have never commented before. I have been subscribed because I LOVE AVIATION! I Love how your videos detail everything!!! YOUR passion is MY passion. I too am an AVGeek! Please know, that for people like me, you mean sooo much. We don’t always comment, but you give us access to a part of OUR LIVES that is SO important to us. Please carry on doing what you do because it means so much to me.
Sam, you are always well balance in projecting your review with any airline. This way you are and always on top of the aviation industries. It's hard to stay on top as many will pull you down so they can feel how it is on top.
He's not reviewing airlines but showcasing airlines operations and it can't be a well balanced review if he gets invited and they prepare in advance for his visit
You have never lost your touch being an avgeek. This is the reason why I have always enjoyed your content so much. I was an avgeek as a child and I’m one of the few who got to bring my avgeek on board when I became cabin crew. Not many cabin crew are also avgeeks, so it’s the best of both worlds. Getting to enjoy other airlines through your eyes is so much fun and your avgeekery shows through in every video. It is so awesome to see how connected we become as crew, across the world, and how individuals like you Sam, get to be part of our world. Please always know that there are so many of us who feel the same way you do. One of the other commenters described your role perfectly; aviation journalism. Please keep doing what you’re doing. Your transparency & honesty is much appreciated, both in this video and in all others. Always remember how many cabin crew, ground staff, and pilots around the world are so happy to see you and meet you.
I've been following your journey for nearly a decade, and you've inspired me to start recording my own travel experiences across business, first, and economy classes. Watching your transformation from the early days of airline reviews to showcasing behind-the-scenes operations, catering, delivery flights, and airline activities worldwide has been incredible. You've offered us rare insights into the operational side of aviation-something we wouldn't have experienced without your dedication. While there are many airline reviewers today, with some excellent ones like *The Layover Aviation*, others seem to focus on sensationalizing minor issues for dramatic effect. For instance, Josh's videos are always like unfounded criticism rather than genuine content, tarnishing airlines over isolated incidents like a crew member's behavior or a malfunctioning seat. Such reviewers come and go, but your integrity and professionalism have stood the test of time... Seeing you visibly saddened today struck a chord because, over the past nine years, you've consistently maintained professionalism and positivity in all your presentations. Many like Josh would come and go and you would stay here. Your contributions to aviation content remain unmatched, and I hope to see your passion shine through in the years to come.
Much respect for what you do. Your Hajj videos on Garuda were the best. I love the experiences you share on the internal operations of airline companies.
Hey Sam.. I am watching your videos for a long time and must say those were the best informative ones done with true passion. As you said, just forget and move one. Keep bringing your quality content for us to watch for many years ahead.
Honestly, I couldn't care less whether paid or not. I just want to see the product! Flying is a privilege that we all need to appreciate. And being able to film onboard is an even bigger one! That's why as an aviation TH-camr, I don't take these privileges for granted.
Hi Sam, you’ve always been my favorite and most unique TH-camr! I’ll continue to be a big fan of yours no matter what anyone says. Please keep posting your amazing videos!
I totally agree with you, Sam. You can't judge an airline based on just one flight. There are so many passengers on a single flight, and they all have different opinions on the service. Some people will like it, and some people won't. So, we can't really say that the airline is good or bad based on just one flight. You're doing a great job as a true aviation geek, keep it up!
Good job sam. Really enjoy ur BTSs n contents. Keep it up. Learn more from your contents than Cahill flight review videos. Cahill sneaky modus operandi was easy, made a negative flight review, then expected airline to compensate him.
Thank you for taking your time to explain this! It’s a really good point that every passager on the same flight has a different experience depending on various factors!
IMO, Josh and Sam have very different objectives: Josh is an airline reviewer, Sam is showing us the unusual airline(r)s and the behind-the-scenes. Both provide value, so it’s not Josh vs Sam, but Josh & Sam. That said, for airline reviews I usually discount Sam - I do think there’s an element of favouritism and bias involved.
Great job differentiating between being an avgeek trying to highlight positive side of aviation and a reviewer who is generally expected to be critical. I think in the past the line has been crossed over by you and maybe that’s where the criticism came from. I love the rare aircraft and behind the scenes and that’s where you shine. Good luck!
I appreciate your honesty and truthfulness, very well stated. I follow Josh but today you have gained a new follower. I really enjoy your content, keep up the great and passionate work.
Good for you Sam! I watched Josh's video and I was shocked at the accusations being made against you. Thank you, for making this video and letting the community know the truth. I am a fan of both you and Josh and I can appreciate both of your styles for what they are. Your enthusiasm for aviation is a reflection of who you are and I too feel that enthusiasm. Keep your chin up!
Sam, you are the best in your trade! You have put hard work, creativity and commitment into your content. The result of your work speaks for itself! It is just obvious that your competitors are trying to badmouth you. It is just envy and competition but does not change that you are the best in what you are doing! I wish you all the best!
A very open, honest, candid, personal and emotional account of your day to day professional life. Full of empathy and compassion to Josh Cahill. Wonderful. Look forward to seeing next weeks video when you share your partners involvement in aviation 😊
Sam, don't let them cut you down. I love for your passion and fellow private pilot in Australia. Sam love your work, keep up the good work and ignore the "tall poppy syndrome". Thanks for all you do for aviation AVGEEKS.
You have made it clear that you are a not a "reviewer", you just document your experiences and unique aviation perspectives that no one else puts out ! It's clear the others are jealous and trying to drag you through the mud.
Yeah Josh is exactly that type of person. Since he isnt given any content better than the loos to review. Jealous tool. Sam shouldnt have even mentioned him at all. Only reason Josh did that was to get his name mentioned ln Sams channel.
I enjoy your content Sam and fully accept your funding model. It makes complete sense to me to have a good relationship with airlines to get inside access. Keep on keeping on!
Sam, a very professional response and I wouldn't expect anything less from you. As a fellow avgeek (and pilot), your approach gets me excited about all the opportunities to learn more about aviation in general. Keep up the great work!
Hi Sam, I am am not an aviation geek but a mere 69 year old woman who loves watching a professional and sincere man who enjoys what he does. I do love planes and travelling and you show me areas of aviation that the average person might never get to see. Please keep on doing what you do your delivery of aviation is unique and interesting. Thankyou.
I really enjoy the positivity from your channel. The behind the scenes looks are always much appreciated and this is one of the first channels I discovered way back where I realized there was a whole community of people who enjoyed the same passion. I appreciate how genuinely grateful you seem for your opportunities and hope to see more of the same! Have always found it annoying how Cahill trys stirrup drama takes greatly away from his channel.
As a former Air Carrier Safety Inspector, you have always given the viewer the ENTIRE view of the world-wide air carrier industry. You don't just sit in the back and give your opinions, but delve into ALL aspects of the industry. The percent of the world population that has flown one or more flights on a commercial air carrier is very small. When I was in the industry, it was less than 5%. You probably have an up to date percentage? A safe flight is NO ACCIDENT!!
Its great to have both reviewers. I watch all. Personally I like Noel the most since he has no beef or mostly no pointing fingers against anyone. Haha. We watch because of planes. Not to see personal beefs. Plenty of soap operas in netflix.. Keep doing what you do best. Enjoy that.. ignore each other.. and may I add. Sam.was te first airline video blogger I discovered and started my search for all airline content.. Josh obviously more of a airline crytic changed alot when he won an award. He got more agressive.. putting airplane staff members at risk by putting them in the spotlight and say something negative about them.. Even when they are doing a fine job. Just because maybe she wasnt engaging or interested to start a whole conversation with him. Weird. She has more things to do on board. I think he is hiding behind his story to help airlines to become better and thats why he is exposing what he thinks is valuable.. well.. i think he can do it more delicately without hurting people like the staffmembers. Anyway.. Thank you for your clarifications and just do what you do best!
Well unfortunately Noel has also referenced Sam in a bad light once or twice, but in general its much less frequent and not as serious and he doesn’t do it anymore. Noel is a good guy
@@Nooticusall of them have even Global Traveler TV from germany but that's because Sam didnt come of as decent person. But there's the difference: You can dislike a person and you can even mock someone you don't like in a subtle manner but Aljoscha is taking it too far. Never been a fan of Sam, I love Noels reviews and Aljoscha to me is just a little drama queen with no manners or education
Well, Noel hasn't always come clean with Sam. But at least, when something bad happens, he's taking it with a grain of salt and brushes it off. His business is not based on whinning.
Don't take people that envy you seriously. You are the best in these area. Just do what your passion told you to do. Envy people always barking all the time. Great job, i love your videos.❤
Sam, keep up the great work. Your passion shows and I can’t imagine people trying to turn your positive outlook into something negative. I look forward to each of your videos and I’m sure a majority of followers feel the same.
Hi Sam, I was a subscriber of yours. I too am An av geek, and a commercially rated pilot (though private operated). In watching your content, it felt it was produced without an unbiased opinion. It feels scripted to the benefit of the airline and not the consumer. Thats what lost me… it’s not Josh’s comments, it was the multitude of other aviation journalists who co-relate on the experience, when yours would be the polar opposite. I get you appreciate the offerings of free travel to expand your content, however, it felt like a non-stop commercial to either feed your financial pockets, retain relationships when in fact the service was sub-par, of paying for the flight yourself and frightened for any repercussions for a negative but truthful opinion. Be honest, that’s what we want, and deserve. Not a commercial telling us, what the AIRLINE wants us to see and hear. I’ll come back, if the change is made. I have the passion like you, but it feels in every video you sold yourself out. As a former chef, if I tasted something that was not good, I’d tell them, and try and help correct it. It’s about integrity and honesty. All the best..
You are by far my favorite airline TH-camr the access you've been able to bring to us. The behind-the-scenes stuff is why I come to your channel. Never change.
Sam, yours is the BEST aviation channel on TH-cam. Your passion and dedication to aviation make you videos a joy to watch. As a long time subscriber it has been obvious to me you do not do pay for review content. I have been to so many places with you on your channel I would otherwise never see. Thankyou & keep on just the way you are!
Without the passion, I wouldn’t come this far. I want to thank everyone for watching my videos. I truly appreciate your support and comments. (I do read them!)
Sam you are a pioneer, ignore Josh and his toxic attitude.
Sam, your videos are great, thanks to you I became an av geek. Are you going to fly on the New A321XLR? Regards from Madrid!!

I have been watching your videos for a long time, trying not to miss any as much as possible.
I swore i was the only one.
I think there's room for both.
Yes the engineering side is the interesting bit for me. I can't afford to sit at the pointy end 😅....
youre literally in a metal tube, flying near the speed of sound, thousands of feet above the ground, powered by flammable liquid fuel...blows my mind every time i get in one and it has the ability to transport me to the other side of the world #grateful :)
Great point

Are you doing that in the university of london with professor Richard Curran?

Just because someone is mannerless doesn't mean they're honest
Awesome
Not every viewer saw every single video made by Sam Chui since day 1. Any viewer has the right to speculate on contents viewed/heard from his platform, up until Sam made this video and those who saw it and believed it. In my opnion, this won't be the last time Sam making a video explaining what he do on his social platforms, at the end not everyone cares enough to watch it. Social media is not court room, you don't need to reveal this to the world and it won't make a big difference. Do what you love, you have the power to block/ignore those. No offense, the aviation world will still be the same with or without you or anyone.
Thankyou I agree the same as you! WE LOVE YOU SAM

Both you and Josh need to grow up and sort out your argument offline..
Logical thought.

Documentary means: using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a factual report on a particular subject.
"a documentary programme about Manchester United"
Similar: factual
If a person is rewarded in some way (paid or benefits in kind) for the video piece, then the factual side of a report may have been compromised.
Never said that, so don't put words in my mouth.
The documentary style report is about the video being independent and truth finding, not a paid piece for advertising or publicity.
@@kdbsuff9625 Chill. I’m not putting anything in your mouth. 😂

What you’re talking about is making a report video.
At all.... the people who actually enjoy your videos can see the genuine passion that you have... anyone who actually finds the time to critique you on what you do is simply just jealous that they are not you.... i myself envy you my guy... i wish i could do what you do for a living... but you are an inspiration for a lot of people.. you are the epitome of what a real "influencer" actually is.... for the rest of us regular people who can only loook up at the sky everytime an airplane flies over and call out what model it is.. you are the super plane spotter... and for most people, we actually learn a lot from your videos and we are happy you get paid to do them so you can continue to make much more... dont worry about the people who are jealous and want to put you down for whatever stupid reason... you have zero reasons to explain ANYTHING to them.. just keep doing what you do for the any reason you want.. the integrity and professionalism yo go about your business is the reason why you are who you are in the aviation world... av geeks around the world appreciate every single video you post... thank you.

I thought that an apology was a very nice thing to do, as well as distinguishing between promotional airline videos and airline reviews. I enjoy your showing us the behind-the-scenes of the plane and the airlines. Seeing a collegial relationship between the vloggers is comforting for us viewers.
As a viewer, I always acknowledge and admire your good work. People are sour because they don’t have the ability to achieve where you are right now.
A puppet? Don't think anyone else is trying to achieve that to be honest.
Sam, you are great fun to watch. Cahill just keeps complaining. I prefer watching you over him any day!
Hi Sam, I am a big AV geek myself (I love to travel) and am a subscriber to you and Josh (along with others like Noel Philips, Jeb Brooks, Non Stop Dan, and Dennis Bunnik). I really appreciate all the videos that each and one of you do. It really helps me in my decision when purchasing my next flight (food, lounge access, airline's offering, seat configuration, etc...)
Thanks for posting this video first of all.
Why should Sam pretend to be a just reviewer? 😅 I just like how he demonstrates every detail of his flight.
Everybody is a somebody :)
Thanks
".....Josh thrives on the drama"

You needed to make this video. You are both clearly doing different things and both deserve your platforms. Best wishes.
Hi Sam.

@@cun7usAljoscha is "throwing mud" at literally anyone he is crossing paths with cause he is freakin, pathetic liar
That's the point why he, and yet it seems others do not.
Sam your passion shines through on every video, and that as well as your positivity is what makes your videos so great. Don't change! Thank you!
Do you even understand? Sam accused someone of a false felony. . .
@@jackbritainyou know that Aljoscha Wendholt is an imposter who even lied about his place of birth, right?

Can’t wait for Josh to sue Sam for defamation ❤
@silentsword4104 lol. Hardest to prove. Can't wait till all airlines ban the German dude.
En tous points d'accord avec vous . Les qualités humaines de Sam qui transparaissent dans ses vidéos sont remarquables...
Keep rolling, Sam!!! I am absolutely a supporter of yours. Thank you for all you do.
Sam, my wife is a FA, and it's not an easy job...keep do your best & keep moving forward Sam
You have the best INDEPENDENT channel out there for showing the aviation spirit and no review.
Thank you so much for this! 😊❤
@@justicemaake684 so you are ok to allow anyone to come to visit your house on the spots?
Never ever crossed my mind Sam , your videos are excellent and filled with lots of background information most people wouldn’t know . Keep it up pls
Shout out from Torrance, we love you Sam. People only hate because you are #1 in the space
Never doubted you for a second Sam! Keep your content coming my friend. I wish I could run into you on a flight in the future.
That is fine Sam, but you are challenged by Cahill to prove what you accused him for.
He literally said sorry bro
Cahills videos gets views only when he fights against the airlines and tries to ruin their business. He is a nuisance to the aviation world.

That is elegant and polite way of saying..... 😁😁😁
One reviews one showcases. That it 😅. This beef is so strange 😅
@@LuqmanHuss You are full of shit. Isn't given any content better than loos to review? mf, you havent watched more than 5 min of his video
Oh he never ever EVER sits in “the back”. That’s for sure.
Hi Sam, simply awesome! throughout the years your videos always thrilled me. Keeps going & keeps calm the best is yet to come!
@@Nooticus Oh yeah.. your right.. he mentioned it a few times.. maybe influenced by Josh. I would advice him not to if I would ever meet him..

Just a BIG Thank You Sam ! ...... Been along on the ride with you for years .... Great Job 😁👍👍👍
Hi Sam, I was a subscriber of yours. I too am
An av geek, and a commercially rated pilot (though private operated).
