It takes a lot of work and patience to train a police horse, and to actually find/breed them. Not every single horse is suited for such hard work, because it's not just physical training, it's also convincing a very strong animal to trust their riders and go through situations which usually sends them running.
@@trionabyrne72 it is part of their training as these horses need to be capable of staying calm in riots for example it is a long training they follow and they start with small things, and slowly work Up to jumping through fire
this is how all police officers riding horses should be trained. like I see so many police officers abusing horses because they don't know better. they should be trained as normal equestrians.

So beautiful! Love how horse and rider are one unit and the trust they both have in each other! Felt bad for that little bobble a couple of them had and the horses got a little bit spooked! Impressive timing as well!
Not the hedge. There's a longer video somewhere around here where they show the whole thing. The bit you see behind the hedge is the baton they used to light the rings, if I remember correctly. :)
One of my moms horses is a retired police horse and he is one of the coolest horses I’ve ever met. It’s incredible what these horses can do, my horses would have heart attacks lol
The amount of trust that horse has to have. Jumping through paper, through fire, jumping over those jumps with another horse right behind them? I can’t imagine. These riders are incredibly brave. They deserve the olympics for the way they treat their horses, and the absolute skill. It must have taken all of their lives to get where they are. Props to these men for giving such trust in an animal ten times their size...
These horses are just incredible. My horses would probably just trip over the jumps and my horse Bre would definitely just get scared my horse named Lexi might tolerate it lol.
2:15 this mistake actually is really good to see because the person on the horse had the perfect reflexes for if something like this happened out in the real world. No hands on, the horse gets spooked and they don't fall off or scare the horse even more
This is dope!!! Everone did such a good job! The riders, the horses, and we gotta give some credit to the men who transposed the fences. Amazing! Love it
@Kyli Unger mmmmmmmm the bottom isn't lit so the horse is just about perfectly safe, but the riders gotta be careful not to poke their heads up too high
@Kyli Unger no because there's a way you can light flames, and depending on the amount of gas, it won't be so hot. If one touched them, it wouldn't have much impact anyway. Nerd power 🤓

Training police horses is so cool! I personally ride horses, and let me just say that it takes A LOT of work, but I can’t imagine this 😅 Imagine messing up tho 😂 (on my moms pfp RN)
No, because I know how they’re trained, at least in the Netherlands. Its just the spook training other horses get, but a little more intense. And also horses have to go to a strict selection before they can even start the training, so by nature the horses have the right temperament. And mind this isn’t just a show, it is an open training. These horses need to be able to stay calm while people around them are lets say rioting. They teach the horses to move through crowds by litterally have them push against turning little bars or by, football with a giant ball. Their training is like a game to them, so they actually like what they’re doing and trust their riders
they have to have incredible timing for this

Yeah I totally thought they'd bump into each other when they jumped the obstacles in an x and crossed their ways
wow they must have incredible bonds with there horses i can't imagine how much work it would take to train a police horse
Yes
It would be an even better bond if they could do it with the horses in a bosal. I jump my off the track thoroughbred in a bosal and bareback pad.
